These people are funny

These people are funny. They use software recognition, in the application process. They record an image of your self, they also want a picture of you holding a government ID. I never heard of such an application process. Plus the barely speak English. I definitely don't recommend applying for this credit card.

Dangerous company - Avoid!!

I had high hopes of this card but I was leery -- I should have trusted my instincts. From the beginning their customer service was horrendous and unhelpful, but I somehow convinced myself, I'll just use the card and not have to deal customer service it will be fine. I continued to ignore the warning signs. Starting out was fine, used the card for several purchases and paid the balance off in full before I even got my first statement (i.e. $0 balance due). Then get an email which notoriously resembles a phishing scam which Petal threatening to close the account. After discovering Petal was actually serious about this, I obviously (and many others) regretted ever getting this card and would caution anyone to RUN AWAY!
This company is a joke and I would not be surprised to see lawsuits (if not already started) very soon and hopefully Petal is shutdown swiftly before they can harm anyone else. They are huge risk to personal security and next major information breach waiting to happen. They're constantly having glitches, suspiciously closing accounts and emailing new customers that their accounts have been closed less than 48 hours of being approved--then blaming it on the customers. Also freezing and closing accounts due to "unusual activity" that are in perfect standing or in many cases before a customer has received, activated or used their card, threatening to close the account to extort sensitive personal information (for example taking a "selfie" with your government ID or Passport) that no reputable credit card or bank would ever ask. They are doing more damage to consumer credit then helping because they are faulty company. Hopefully reviews like this will warn others from falling into the same trap.

Worst Customer Service / Indifferent and I Don't Care Attitude / Not customer friendly

They have the worst customer service when compared to any credit card provider. If you email them or contact them on social media be sure to get copy/paste responses alone. If you get any fees charged, there is no way of appealing or getting them canceled even if your reason is valid. I’m not sure if I did the right thing by choosing to link all my bank accounts and credit card accounts with this company to get such a card. I'm thinking of closing my account and asking them to delete my data. Please avoid this company at all costs. They want to sound hip and appeal to millennials, but with such poor customer service and agents who are not ready to hear you, you are better off not having this credit card. I don’t even think they are legit anymore. Even if you contact their customer care on phone, the agents are helpless and they cannot help you most of the time. They read ready-made responses that make you feel you are talking to robots.

Update: They have become even worse. Today when I was disputing an interest charge, they did not provide me with any solution but only were apologizing. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and after waiting, I spoke to an accounts manager, I was complaining and I told him that I was considering closing my account. He said that if I closed my account, I could not open one again, to which I said that it would not be a problem. The next minute that guy tells me that my account has been closed as per my request. These guys did not even confirm account closure before doing so. Such indifferent folks. I have written emails to top people in the company and I am awaiting a response. But even if my account is closed, I think that it is GOOD RIDDANCE!

Update 2: Someone from operations reached out and offered that I could reinstate my account which I did cos I did not want my credit score to take a ding for the closure of the account. Also, only after the assurance that I would get a better customer experience did I say yes to reinstatement. Let’s see how this ends up. Maybe a stupid decision, but only time will tell.
