Complete Scam asking for fake renewal

As I have read other reviewers saying, I received a scam email including all my details and a photo of my cat asking me to renew. My cat was never registered with Petchip and the website needs to be banned.

SCAM
I received an email claiming that my pet's microchip registration had expired. It seemed suspicious, especially since I use another company that doesn't charge for registration. This experience felt like a scam, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this service. It's crucial to choose a reputable company for pet microchipping to ensure you're not misled or charged unnecessarily.

BEWARE !!!!!!This company emailed me at…

BEWARE !!!!!!This company emailed me at 11pm last night saying my cats chip had expired . They wanted 18.99 PayPal to renew . They had a photo of my cat in my home , my cats actual cats chip number , my name and my phone number . Too much information for my liking .I deleted the email but then my husband suggested I block it so I went into trash and the email had vanished . Something needs to be done . Too many vulnerable people in the world who will fall for this .

BEWARE

As the person below - They sent me an email saying my cat's registration had expired

Luckily I checked on PetTrac where they are registered.

This is scary 😨 and something needs to be done about company's like this. They're just counting on people to panic and pay the £17 or whatever their "fee" (for what exactly??) is. They also conveniently forget to mention the period that fee is supposed to cover.

I have made PetTrac aware, too!

Omg thank god for Trustpilot I have just received the same email as everyone else. Truly believed it and was just about to pay when it suddenly occurred to me this seems abit fishy. Went onto trust pilot and it confirmed my suspicions.

This company is not a DEFRA approved database!

This company sent me an email with my German Shepherd’s (Stan)chip number saying it was no longer valid and I needed to pay to have him re-registered. I foolishly paid £18.95 before checking Trust Pilot. I then realised he was already registered with Smart trace from birth. Fortunately I put in a complaint and got a full refund through PayPal. How is this company allowed to commit such fraud. According to smart trace this company is not a DEFRA approved UK database. This company needs investigating before someone else gets scammed. Also, how on earth have they managed to get my dog’s actual chip number and my details! There’s been a data breach some where.

Ignore and Delete. Complete scam

Just received a very convincing email to renew my dogs microchip. I thought this was odd because we obviously paid when we got her and it's been an odd amount of time 2yrs 6 months! It nearly did draw me in but we have an older dog who we microchipped but only paid once for, I searched the microchip number and of course she was registered through smart trace for life. Avoid Ignore and delete email.

petchip.info SCAM

Just received an email from this company quoting the correct microchip number for my dog and mine & my husbands correct contact phone numbers, telling me that my pet was about to become unregistered. I then separately contacted the company I had used to register the microchip for my dog who confirmed all was ok.

Having read all the comments I can't believe that this Scam hasn't been shut down - the emails look very plausible and I'm sure many people are being conned by them.

Scam still going on

Scam still going on. Could easily get caught out as had all my exact details. The site makes it seem too easy , just copy and paste the numbers and click on the link.

Nothing to add to the other reviewers just wanted to say it is still going on.

I am furious that a company has my exact details. Surely should have been closed down and action taken. Clearly they have no idea how much people love their furry friends. Or they do and this is why they are doing it.

SCAM STAY AWAY DO NOT PAY THEM MONEY

SCAM STAY AWAY DO NOT PAY THEM MONEY. Some details correct then some wrong so made me suspicious as had updated them. Then tried to click on terms and conditions…doesn’t let you. Then started to google them. Went on my actual microchip website all details correct and completely different website to petchip.info

Petchip scam

Petchip scam. I also got a renewal notice from them today (20/09/24) and foumd I had paid them in Oct 2022. It is obviously a total scam. One part of their website actually lists the correct details and another part says not registered, and other website say unknown so they showed it to me earlier on one part but it's not available to general search elsewhere so really of no use.
