Some Disatisfaction

Never was notified of their system going down and when I called, I found out claims that were sent in needed to be resent. Thete should have been a courtesy email that went out to all members.

Not as happy with the cost or plans.

Norma,

We apologize for your dissatisfying experience. Unfortunately, we did have a short outage in early July due to some IT issues which have since been rectified. We completely understand your frustration. Our goal is to provide the best customer service experience, so your feedback is very helpful for us to know what we can do to make the experience better.

No problems with a claim

I've had PetFirst insurance on my dog since I first got him. He now has developed an autoimmune disorder (which is hopefully going into remission) and I've been reimbursed for a LOT of Vet costs. Sometimes it takes longer than I'd like for reimbursement, but they always do! So glad my dog has insurance!

Why didn't I do this sooner.

My adopted dog, Maddie, came with a 1st month free membership a year and a half ago. The cost is minimal compared to some of the medical bills I have had for other dogs in the past. I am so glad Wags and Whiskers encouraged me to open the policy.

Professional. Responsive, empathetic, and all around kind people.

Since 2008, I have had four of my precious rescue-dogs insured through PetFirst. Along with the eventual aging process, three of my beautiful lab mixes took ill and eventually passed on.
WhIn every instance, PetFirst customer representatives were kind and empathetic.
My refunds were paid promptly which was I really. But the kindness that was shown in the way of condolence cards and kind words make pet first the best pet insurance Choice for my family.

Suprisingly easy

Doggie got into trouble and had to file two claims. Was expecting hassles and delay but was pleasantly surprised since the claims were processed quickly and pretty darn well.

Slow Claims Processing, but they are always fair.

If their slow claims processing (at least 10-15 business days) at least included a free direct deposit option to help expedite it then I would have rated them a 5 stars. Otherwise, I have been happy with their easy claims filing & overall good customer service.

customer service agents

Difficult customer service reps have been combative and sarcastic. they don't listen and are quite short and have an abrasive attitude.

PetFirst is Awesome

Our dog Shelby recently had double cruciate ligament surgery. We followed the procedure for filing a claim through PetFirst Insurance, an easy process, and within a few weeks received a check to cover the maximum allowed for the surgeries. If you haven't insured your dog, I highly recommend PetFirst!

J,

I am sorry you are disappointed with your coverage and our responsiveness. I can assure you that PetFirst has one of the most comprehensive coverage with our Lifetime plans, but unfortunately, we cannot cover everything. We must have a few exclusions in order to allow premiums to be affordable for all pet parents. We appreciate your feedback, as it allows us to see where we can improve.

Very Good Pet Insurance

I first got PetFirst insurance 7 years ago. The following month my dog was bitten by another dog. If I had not had the insurance for her, we would not have been able to afford the vet bills - about $4000.00. Since then we have used ,it several times and I am so very glad to have had it, because we have saved a great deal with it.

Otis

Our dog needed to have surgery to remove a tumor on his leg. I faxed the claim form and necessary documents. Reimbursement was received in a couple of weeks. Actually, prior to my credit card billing. Very pleased!

Poor website, constantly increasing rates, poor reimbursement with even poorer explanation. Considering cancelling my services with PetFirst.

Cory,

I am sorry to hear your are displeased with your pet insurance coverage. We do strive to make sure our members understand their coverage and what to expect for reimbursement. Unfortunately, as our pets get older, their risks increases significantly, which is why you will see your premium increase slightly each year. We are also always updating/adding content to our website, included multiple blog posts each month about pet health and are looking at revamping our member portal, MyPETS, completely to make it more user friendly and offer more features for pet parents by the beginning of next year. We do hope Findley stays part of the PetFirst family, and we appreciate your feedback, as it allows us to know where we can improve.

Excellent service

We have had many stomach issues with our dog over the last month. Lots os tests and special diets and pills. Not once has PetFirst questioned us or denied a single claim. We feel so happy to have our dog who is family to us on a plan from PetFirst. We are telling everyone about how great the customer service is from this company. If you love your pet like we love ours you can't go wrong having them on a PetFirst plan.

Thank you for all you do to help us get our little boy back to health.

Easy reinburstment

I have been with petfirst for a while and I been with other pet insurance prior to finding this one. It is so easy to receive a refund for the cost of the incident. Just fill out the form and send in a detailed cost of each item. Simple fast and accurate...what more could you ask for?.

Great

I rescued a puppy that came with one month free insurance. Upon taking Ruby for her first doctor visit she was diagnosed with pneumonia and almost died. The insurance company was wonderful and paid me quickly. I could have never afforded her care on my own. I have taken out. An ongoing policy and will continue having pet insurance forever. It is not worth the risk ! Buy pet insurance from them!
