As someone else said if I could give No…

As someone else said if I could give No stars I would! Truly awful experience. I will never ever go there again. If you love and cherish your pet DO NOT go there. No care or compassion shown. Even when collecting the ashes the lady who was assigned the role of dealing with us was obviously preoccupied with her Tamagotchi. A heartbreaking time made even harder by the unprossional behaviour of the staff.

Respectful and Lovely

We sadly had to let our old girl go earlier this week. Cloud 9 arranged everything with the Pet Cemetery
The gentleman who came out was so professional and lovely
Our girl was tucked up in a bed with blanket and treated with dignity and love
We were given time to say goodbye

We had a last minute phone call to them to try and retrieve a nose print for us as ours didn’t go well and they went above and beyond to get this

We got the call the next day that our girl was ready for collection. We opted to collect and so glad we did. Such a beautiful, peaceful place that is so well looked after
Every member of the team we spoke to were lovely and helpful.
They also got our girls fur and put it in a key ring keepsake for us.

Could not give a better review but cannot thank them enough

Should have a zero rating

Should have a zero rating

I sent this in a letter to the Holywell Pet Cemetery after taking my beloved Ted there - no reply over two weeks later.

I have just returned home following my visit to say goodbye to my beloved dog, Ted, and I feel compelled to write to you – not out of frustration, but out of deep sadness and disappointment.

I was led to believe that this would be a peaceful, respectful, and heartfelt experience – a dignified farewell for a pet who was not just a dog, but a cherished member of my family for many years. Unfortunately, that is not what I experienced today. (9.6.25)

I was told Ted would be in the chapel of rest, which I expected to be a quiet, serene space where I could spend a few meaningful final moments with him. Instead, I found myself constantly distracted and unsettled by the noise of mechanical activity in the background – a harsh and upsetting reminder of what was going on behind the scenes.

More upsetting still was the conduct of Jason, the staff member who was supposedly assigned to look after Ted. At no point did I feel seen or supported as a grieving pet owner. Jason appeared disengaged, spending most of the time tapping away on a phone or iPad, and his demeanor was anything but compassionate or empathetic. I had already provided all my details over the phone in advance, so upon arrival, the only thing that should have been needed was confirmation of my identity. I cannot understand why Jason was so preoccupied with his device when all the relevant information was already in hand.

The entire experience – which I believed would be a moment of grace and closure – felt rushed, impersonal, and industrial. Ted deserved better. I deserved better. I had expected a service that honoured our bond, not one that made me feel like just another customer in a production line.

They advertise a caring comforting experience. I do not feel that what I received matched what was promised, either in spirit or in quality.

I do want to say that the veterinary team were absolutely wonderful. They treated Ted with such kindness, gentleness, and respect in his final moments, and for that I am truly grateful. Their compassion brought a great deal of comfort at a very painful time. Sadly, what happened at the pet cemetery has cast a long shadow over what should have been a meaningful farewell.

That night, my emotions were painfully mixed. I’m deeply saddened at the loss of Ted – my best friend and loyal companion of 14 years – but that grief is now tinged with a sense of regret and hurt. I feel like I was just part of a machine. Ted was part of a machine. And it felt anything but dignified to have the mechanical processes of your operation blasting in the background while I tried to say goodbye to my beloved pet.

A chapel of rest is exactly that – a place where one can rest in peace. Peace being the operative word. A place for quiet reflection. Not one filled with the banging and clattering of machinery.

It’s for the reasons stated above that I returned to the pet cemetery to collect Ted and give him the dignified send-off that he deserved.

Saddened and disappointed

t’s taken some time for me to write this review as was completely traumatised by the sudden death of my beautiful boy. Our vets were amazing and tried all to save him but was not to be. At our request our vet made arrangements for us to take our boy here.
The man that met us initially seemed quite attentive and sympathetic but was rushed and we felt pressured to leave in in their ‘chapel’. The reason for this it transpired was they had ‘visitors’. We left our boy without knowing when he would be attended to whilst a group marched into the chapel with an older chap. Our boy was still lying in there. We were told when we left the door would be locked- not the case. We asked when the cremation would take place & was told - don’t know- maybe today-maybe tomorrow.- we’ve had 3 others in today! The next day I asked when it has been done and the man from the day before said - oh I don’t know- I think he was supposed to be in charge.
We went to collect his remains in a rather grubby office. The engraving was wrong despite the one in charge scribbling our request on a post it. The young woman said it would be changed but we would have to wait- fair enough. Went for a walk and on return, the woman was smoking outside reception which was totally unprofessional. We took our boy home but have to say how disappointed I was with the overall attitude, lack of empathy and respect in taking strangers into the chapel with MY boy still there while we were whisked out.and the overall lack of organisation, compassion and professionalism. 3 of our fur babies have been here but no more will be left here

If I could give you no stars I would

If I could give you no stars I would. We lost our beloved dog suddenly on Saturday 22nd March at 3.16 we took him
To the vet’s and prayed for a miracle, that unfortunately never happened. I rang Holywell pet funeral services to ask could we bring our dog as we didn’t want to leave him at the vets in a freezer. I got asked how long would we be, by this time it was 4.05 I said we are an hour and a half away and we need to pick our daughter up first as we thought she may like to come. The lady on the phone said we shut at 5 sorry. I literally broke my heart and begged with my beloved dog lay in front of me dead and asked them
To please please wait for me, I’m begging you. She then went onto say the staff want to go home, they finish at 5. I asked what could I do with my dog and the reply was ‘have you got a garage, put him in there’! My beautiful baby boy lay dead, I was heartbroken and not a tiny bit of empathy, just more bothered about going home. I get after a days work people want to go home, but this business probably needs to employ someone to be on stand by as this tore me apart, the fact I begged and they still didn’t care. We took our boy to a beautiful place in Bury. They were amazing and stayed open and let us spend as much time as we wanted with him until we were ready to leave and didn’t charge an out of ours rate. If you need somewhere google Bury.

Fantastic service

We cannot thank the staff enough for their first class service. We lost our border collie on Tuesday and her ashes were returned home on Friday. We’d had her for 12.5 years and was the pup of our other dog at the time. She was an amazing dog and a loved member of the family, who will leave a massive hole in the family 🐾♥️

I cannot speak highly enough of the service offered by 'Danny' and his colleagues at Pet Funeral Services, Holywell. On 10th October 2024 we lost our beloved little Pomeranian dog who had been with us nearly 11 years. An awfully sad day. The 'Little Man' was collected with dignity and compassion by this company Thereafter we were kept fully informed and within 2 days the ashes of our dear little friend were personally returned to us in a beautiful wooden casket, along with an engraved plaque and a small cutting of his thick Pomeranian's coat, sealed in a key rig. To say we were touched would be a huge understatement. With sincere and genuine thanks to all the staff at Pet Funeral Services for their excellent compassionate service.

Respectful and caring

Suddenly lost our beautiful, chatty and mischievious African Grey Timneh parrot Joey at the age of 25. Such a shock. We had an individual cremation with Pet Cemetery, Holywell. The customer service was excellent, very professional, sympathetic and respectful. The staff were wonderful and made the experience of our loss just that bit more bearable. I will certainly without hesitation recommend them.

Incredible service

We had to say goodbye to our Rottweiler Cassie Bear and had an individual cremation with Pet Funeral Services.
I cannot recommend them enough so caring and understanding they were truly outstanding. My wife and son got stuck in traffic when they went to collect Cass and they stayed open and waited for them to arrive.
It's the worst feeling in the world loosing your fur baby but these guys make such a traumatic and sad time just that little bit more bearable.
Thank you so so much x

Awful

Awful. Truly awful wait if they’re busy. Instead of employing another Chef, you are made to wait. First time visiting and it’ll be the last. Waited for over an hour for our food.

Tea Rooms at the Pet Cemetery Brynford Holywell

Called at the tea rooms for a light lunch. Sat at an outside table and placed order for food and drinks. The drinks were a mocha coffee and a black decaf coffee, mocha and coffee arrived and on pouring noticed I had been given a black tea. Took it back to the counter, replacement duly arrived. Food followed consisting of a soup with bread roll and butter and baked tuna & cheese baguette with side salad and coleslaw. No napkins, no knife for buttering bread roll and no cutlery for my side salad and coleslaw. Pointed out to waitress who looked confused. Cutlery arrived. On paying I mention about our issues to the till girl. There was a confused look on her face as my complaint was being processed. She tilled up my bill and presented it to me. I noticed she was charging me for two afternoon teas at £74 the pair when it should have been £24. A word of advice for the management, more staff training is needed and staff that are up to the job of working in hospitality. We will not be returning for a long time as there is a dog friendly cafe 2 miles away we will now be frequenting.

Very caring and compassionate

Very caring and compassionate. When we arrived someone was waiting for us, took time to talk to us and explain everything. We were really looked after throughout and were given 2 key rings with a locket of hair as a momento, which was a really nice touch. Helped make a traumatic experience better.

Appalling customer service resulted pregnant lady in A&E

Want to start off by saying the young ladies Who served us were amazing but unfortunately the senior member of staff are disgusting. My family and I spent over £60 on breakfast and cakes.
I asked for the cakes to be popped into boxes which the gentleman kindly did. I also bought a block of cheese, not expecting it to be put in a cake box. So when getting back to the car I genuinely believed that he’d forgotten the cheese. I went back in and spoken to in a very patronising manner the woman behind the counter (manager) practically threw the cheese at me. I walked out very distressed. Heavily pregnant this level of stress led to me having stomach pains to which we started to drive straight to walk-in centre to get checked out. On the drive the manager called to say we have checked the cameras and we have put the cheese in one of the boxes can you come back right now and return cheese. Try to explain due to the stress I’m on my way to A&E to get checked out the woman didn’t listen spoke over me and said no you need to come back now in disgust I hung up. She then called back three or four times while I was in A&E. All this harassment over an accident on a £5 block of cheese. How utterly ridiculous. What disgusting customer service for someone who had made a genuine mistake who would spend over £60 on food and be treated like a thief. Call back and paid for the cheese, No apology or understanding.

Say goodbye elsewhere

The staff here made an already traumatic experience worse. I was bombarded with phone calls about when I was coming for days and on arrival I had to beg to spend a few moments to be with my pet before they were cremated. Staff were rude and didn’t bother how to explain about payment etc place nothing like the pamphlets. Please go elsewhere to say goodbye to your loved ones.
