I can't give it a full five stars because they turned me down on a claim saying that what my dog had happened before I had insurance but they don't know that. My dog has a wart on his eye and I told... See more

Quick and timely response to my claim
Quick and timely response to my claim. They covered just as what was expected in my policy. Such a relief to know as my fur baby is a beloved family member
Giving Ella an amazing opportunity to continue life as a tripod
I was about to cancel this insurance as my Ella, an English mastiff, was healthy however through divine intervention, I kept it. A couple of months later, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of R back knee in June and now she is a happy very functional tripod. Pets Best has been amazing with reimbursements and allowing Ella to get the treatment that she needs to keep osteosarcoma at bay.
My premiums have risen 50% year over…
My premiums have risen 50% year over year. They say it is only based on age and zip code. When I experimented and set up a new policy under a different name, it was 1/4the the cost of my equivalent policy which I've had for 4 years. Something is fishy here.
Easy to upload documents
Easy to upload documents, fast response and ability to refund to my bank.
Service is good
With my one dog having diabeties, we spend about 150 a month on supplies/meds and you cover it which is great, but the monthly fee is getting higher and making it more difficult to keep up.

Since October 2025. Every time I open a claim there’s an error so I’ve had to email everything to submit my claims. I’ve called and spoken to numerous people and no one can tell me when it will be fixed. They don’t answer emails most of the time, there are so many delays. I’ve been a customer since 2020 and the experience used to be great. It’s terrible now.

It is always a pleasure to work with PetsBest. The review and process claims very quickly and truly care about your pet. I am happy to recommend them to anyone.
Great pet insurance!
I have had Pets Best pet insurance on my cat for 2 years now and have not had to use it until recently. My cat had a urinary obstruction, which required 24hr monitoring in a pet hospital. I had to submit two separate claims since my cat went to two clinics. All I had to do was answer a few questions and submit an invoice/proof of payment - one of the claims was accepted in just two days! I am extremely happy with how smoothly the whole process has been and can have peace of mind knowing how great this pet insurance has been for me and my kitty.
dont communicate with reps tell different answers,
had to resubmit on claim multiple times (SINCE 11/25) 10 times.
Vet was requested info 4 times, had to send records multiple times. Finally said no. Inquired to cancel wellness before policy renew date ) 9 days) was told would get a refund for remaining time left. Today was told incorrect. Have to cancel all. No refund at all. Was told by rep. I could. Megan said incorrect. Tired of reps not giving right info. That's why going with another pet insurance.

easy and paid quickly
Quick and Easy
They make it easy to file a claim with minimal hassle, and reimbursement in most cases is quick. Have referred a few fellow pet owners due to my positive experience!
I feel taken care of.
This company seems to take care of their customers, every time I submit a claim, they get back to me in a reasonable timeframe. It’s nice having a pet insurance company that I can trust and they seem to honor the policy without a bunch of hoops to jump through. Nice job.

It was an non stressful experience I submitted the vet bill they reviewed and paid the claim wish everything was this easy
Looking for a new insurance company
Many of the reps reviewing my claims will take 30+ days to process then with no heads up deny it so I have to resubmit. I've had to submit many claims with the Same information multiple times. It's incredibly frustrating and you all bank on customers giving up. I won't I am owed money and I'm discussing with an attorney
Payout is quick and is always correct

Look elsewhere. Private equity owned now.
First off, my premium has skyrocketed in the last couple of years, now more than double what it was when we joined. Second, they are denying more claims as time goes on, similar to how human health insurance claims to cover you but finds a way not to. Third, I feel there is absolutely a premium increase based on your usage, and other users have pointed this out on Reddit (having two dogs, making claims for one and not the other and seeing a difference in their annual premium increases). I loathe that this company was bought by private equity; that was the beginning of true downfall. I wish I had chosen one that wasn’t, but I’m stuck with it now, as my pet has “pre existing conditions” in the eyes of any other insurance. Overall, getting policy coverage payouts is too hard, since they continually ask for more documentation to slow you and have you drop off during that process; it’s a known tactic. Why 3 stars? Bec at this point, they are still paying out most claims (with extra work) and the employees are lovely.
But if I was someone buying a new policy, I’d look elsewhere.
I have had Pets Best for quite a while
I have had Pets Best for quite a while. I have filed claims over the years but this year my Springer has had an awful year health wise. Several large surgeries and issues in between. You have paid the claims and your customer service reps are always willing to help when I have questions. So glad I chose your company. Thanks
Pet's Best is OK
I have been marginally happy with Pet's Best over the last 4 years. I did have an issue where they covered a surgery that didn't accomplish anything, but wouldn't cover a treatment (because it was an 'alternative therapy'). However, that treatment has been more effective and resolved our issue.
I'm also highly frustrated at the $351 price hike due to my pug turning 5. The reason was the breed and age. The dog has not even reached it's deductible for 2 years. The customer service is not understanding and gives very scripted and generic responses to you being upset. Same when I tried to get our previously mentioned treatment covered, even with pages of appeal information from our specialty vet... they wouldn't even entertain the idea. Just a generic 'nope, it's not on our list of medications'.
Knowing people who have been through catastrophic events with their pets, I have chosen to stay with Pet's Best 'just in case'. Unfortunately, even with the price hike, they still offer the best coverage (I shopped around).
Having said all of this, I guess it's the way the world is now a days. No one cares about helping you, they're just out to make money.
The app is great
The app is easy to use to submit claims. Direct deposit reimbursement takes longer than I think it should. I’m not happy that the appointment charge is not covered if seeing a tech vs an actual vet.
