It was a wonderful week to build my confidence as a basketball player
It was a wonderful week of growth, strength, and learning. I grew so much through my time at PGC, learning how to be a team player and pushing myself to get stronger in the game of basketball.

The teaching how to be a leader and instilling good habits has really helped me earn a spot on my team
The company is really awesome!!
The company is really great, it’s not just about basketball the whole time it’s about your future and your choices in life. having fun with friends and making friends is super fun as well. i’ve learned from so many things from pgc and will love to go back
Terrible Experience
Absolute worst camp my kid has even been to. Came back and they messed up his jump shot so bad and now he is having trouble doing basic things like a one footed layup which they do not allow you to do and only allow you to finish off two. This camp is for bad players whose parents want to boost their confidence not skill. I strongly advise parents not to take their kids there as mine despised it and was begging me by the second day to come pick him up.

Point Guard Camp - Amazing!
My son had an amazing experience at PGC! It's been two weeks since the camp and he still talks consistently about it and on a recent road trip, he brought his notebook with to review what he learned at Point Guard College.
While the days were long, everything was worth it and he made some really good friends, as PGC really promoted "team", while teaching in the classroom, showing on the court, and then having the athletes execute. I'd highly recommend to anyone.

Very well organised and value for the time and money spent. Our 13 year-old son loved it and is already planing on going back next Summer.
Forever a Baller
My daughter went to the Shooting Camp last fall and loved the camp so much that we purchased the lifetime membership after just that one camp! This summer, she attended 3 PGC camps and is signed up for another Shooting Camp this fall. She has learned so much over the course of those camps, both on the court and as a leader on and off the court. She met so many people that have the same mindset for the game that she has and they have already made plans to attend camps together next summer! Thank you for all you do to encourage the love of the game.

I sent my 8th grade daughter to the Playmakers College this summer, and it was a great decision. We live in a small town and had to drive 4 hrs to get to the camp. She's a stronger player in the small town environment, but it was an intimidating experience for her to not be at the top. The first few days she was frustrated, and I thought "what have I done? I've ruined her playing basketball". The staff at PGC however had warned us that we'd probably get a call in the first few days with them wanting to come home, so I was prepared for it. I gave her pep talks and she stuck it out. By day 3, she loved it. Coming from our small town, it was such a good experience for her to be around other kids who loved basketball as much as she did. She made lots of friends and left with so much confidence. She had a game the day after the camp ended, and she used some of the advice she was given such as introducing herself to the ref, which is a mind-blowing thing to see an 8th grader do. When I picked her up from the camp, I was amazed to see how respectful all the players were of each other, how attentive they were to the director, how they immediately responded to prompts in the ways they were trained all week. My daughter left feeling capable, empowered, and proud of herself. I highly recommend this camp!
Life skills
Before I wrote this I read some of the negative reviews. We bought the lifetime pass years ago and my wife and I believe it’s maybe the best investment in our two sons we have made. Both boys have been to every camp. My oldest is now at Kelly business school at Indiana University on a full academic scholarship through grad school. My youngest will be a sr in HS and we just went to the PGC grad school. Him for the 2nd time, myself for the 3rd as an OC. He will have the opportunity to play college basketball at a high level. In my opinion my sons have learned more about life at PGC through the game of basketball. I consider this WAY more important in their development as human beings. I would suggest to others that we are not raising basketball players. We are trying to raise good citizens, good mothers and fathers. Thank you PGC for all that you have done for my family.
Excellent Camp for 12 yr old
The 12 year athlete in our house loved the playmaker camp and still talks about what they learned weeks later. The books included in the welcome package is well worth the investment and was devoured by this young reader. He loved his coaches, the intensity of the program, and walked away more passionate for the sport than I thought possible. Before he went, I was sure he understood the necessity to have an open mind, and to go into this without any assumptions of how to play the game. By doing this, he walked in a blank book and devoured the daily lessons. His grandparents attended the parent observation session and were blown away by what they saw and said “whatever you paid, it was worth it.” As a parent, I appreciated the daily updates and the letter to coaches.
We already registered him for the fall shooting college, and he’s already talking about wanting to go back to the playmaker camp next summer.
This camp was ideal for the athlete in our house because he’s always been laser focused, appreciates structure and enjoys being challenged.

Too many players, limited food options.
My son, 13 heading to 8th grade, was excited to attend the camp but we had reservations based on some reviews we saw online. I decided to attend as an observing coach so I could check things out. After the first session I realized we should have skipped this camp. There were so many kids signed up that they split them into two groups. My son’s group had at least 80 players in it and they were all crammed on to one college size basketball court. They used 4 baskets so each had 20 kids which means a lot of time standing in lines waiting to do the drills. The drills kids were shown were good but they didn’t have enough reps to make them meaningful.
The dorm rooms at university of St Thomas were fine and they seemed to take security seriously but I didn’t observe much time in the dorms.
The food was hit or miss depending on your kids preferences. There was only one set entree per meal so if your kid doesn’t like what they are serving they don’t have any other options which was problematic for us.
I’m giving them two stars because it wasn’t terrible but for the cost ($1,700) it should have been better. It was clear that they prioritize profits over the camper experience.
I do not recommend this camp for serious players who already have a solid foundation in basketball. If your kid wants an overnight camp and can’t get group or private lessons locally this might be a good fit for you.
The experience could be improved by using bigger facilities, limiting enrollment at smaller gyms, and providing the kids with a couple more food options at meal time.

Save your money
Save your money. I would not recommend traveling out of town at all for this camp. It’s more of a cheerleading camp, not a basketball camp. They did not utilize the time efficiently at all. They should’ve rented out additional gym space to better maximize shots, drills, etc. The culture of this camp today is a far cry from what Dick DeVenzio’s true Point Guard Camp used to be! Very very disappointed in the experience and coaches.

Lack of Confidence to Extreme Confidence
My son had a great experience at camp. He lacked confidence got down on himself and had a poor attitude. I can say I saw extreme improvement in all. He has extreme confidence he doesn't get down on himself much at all and his attitude is much better. He became a better teammate and player. After PGC he was a team motivator, a leader, was the one of the best players on his high school basketball team and had an undefeated season. I believe it was because he attended camp. He learned alot in the classroom not too much on the court. They didn't have to much court time but he did wake up early and shot around with a coach before camp started each day. He enjoyed it very much made and alot of new friends. He did wish they had a little more court time and less classroom. Although he did learn alot in the class.

Everyone should go!!!
My leader Todd Larkin made the week great also the way we worked on a fundamental and built it up into a full 5 vs 5 scrimmage. I think just about anyone should attend playmaker college if they love the game.

PGC Playmaker College
The whole time at PGC playmaker college, I was surrounded by coaches and other players who shared the same love for the game of basketball as me. It was an environment of growth and respect. The things that are taught at the PGC camps are not only fundamental to success as a player but also as a person. I strongly believe that I am a better player, student, son, brother, and friend after attending the PGC playmaker college camp. I will be forever grateful for the new friendships and experiences I received from this camp. I highly recommend this camp for anyone who wants to anyone who wants to level up game and enjoy an all around amazing experience.

The PGC Story
The camp was great! The drills were all new and the competition was amazing. It could have been a little more organized and planned out but overall it was one of the best camps I have ever been to.

Short piece about PGC
PGC is a truly amazing basketball camp for players of all ages. PGC doesn't make you pro ready right away, but they give you all the tools to get there if you are up to the work. PGC also gives you many important skills and lessons for basketball, and life. I recommend to all players, but it is not for everybody. Having a great attitude, takes practice, but having a good attitude makes the whole experience the best it can be. PGC is awesome, and I truly love going.

I attended PGC Playmaker College
I attended PGC Playmaker College and I was taught so much. If you are a student of the game striving to get better this camp is for you. Also, if you are a young student of the game this camp is for you. This camp brought me closer to people of the same mindset and aspirations. I highly recommend PGC.

Highly Recommend
Coaches give out good information and practice, and motivational things in the classrooms, this has all helped me to start dropping double digits in games. I highly recommend going if you can.
