Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers are dissatisfied with the product, specifically the tea bags, reporting issues such as bags splitting, not being sealed properly, or tearing when opened. People also frequently mention a significant decline in the quality of the tea itself, describing it as bland, weak, tasteless, and having a bitter aftertaste. Some people were also dissatisfied with the packaging, finding the individual sachets, string, and tags on certain tea bags to be an unnecessary waste of materials. Reviewers also noted that the new square tea bags take longer to infuse and often require two bags to achieve a satisfactory strength.

What has gone wrong with PG Tips ?

What has gone wrong with PG Tips ?
They are terrible now, tasting off and leaving an after taste... Who makes these decisions.
They can't be using customer forums to help them make informed decisions.
Just thrown away a full box and moved to Yorkshire Tea

Mind blown

Mind blown. Large box of Pg absolutely every bag is open and empty with all the tea loose in the box. Every single one of them. How on earth did these get through quality control.
What has happened to you! Once Britain's loved, now completely incompetent.

They now have hardly any flavour

They now have hardly any flavour. I drink weak black tea with a sweetener. Now leave it longer but need 2 sweetners to get any flavour now . My tesco decaff still only need one sweetener. Also having to split the tea bags each time. I split them all and put in a tin and now have over 2 hundred to use yet. So disappointed. Pyramid tea bags were great

What have you done to your tea bags!

What have you done to your tea bags and your brand?! I LOVED the pyramid tea bags. They had a depth of flavour and certain sweetness. It made me stick with this brand over all others. The new flat bags taste like dish water. It makes no difference how you brew them. The taste is weak and not at all like tea. Unfortunately I shall not be buying another box until you switch back.

Undrinkable bitter PG

I bought a big 240bag box last week expecting it to be good like it was,but no it has a revolting bitter taste so regret purchasing that large box .I had put the majority of it in the tin I still have that celebrated its 75 years when that was ,that however has been removed back to the cardboard box of purchase and another brand is now in its place. Which will be drunk by us .
The PG Tips will be binned.

These new tea bags take a lot longer…

These new tea bags take a lot longer than the acclaimed 30 seconds, even after 2 minutes they still don't taste the same as the pyamid bags did, I've been a faithful pg tips tea drinker for more then 40 years but sadly I have now switched to a different brand that satifies me, as I understand the vast majority of pg tips drinkers are dis-satisfied, so come on PG, turn the clock back , go back to the pyramid bad and the same tea that was inside it. It wasn't broke, so why did you spend all thet money fixing it.
Alex.

PG Tips

PG Tips? More like PG shit! I have been drinking PG for more than 45 years. After moving to France some years ago I have stocked up upon each visit to the UK to be able to support the habit. However having recently used the last of the pyramid stocks I opened the latest box of the "new" square bags and shock horror what a total load of crap the taste is awful. I now have over a 1000 bags that are good only as fire lighters! Instant switch to "Yorkshire" well done PG management your company in heading for the sewer and you deserve it!

I decided to investigate online whether…

I decided to investigate online whether I had somehow mixed up a batch of cheap tea bags with PG tips when transferring them to caddies or whether other people had noticed a problem. I’d bought the cheap ones when no PG stocked. What on earth have you done to this historic brand? The water takes an age to change colour and the flavour is so weak it can barely be described as tea. Sadly I have a huge box to get through. It will be my last unless you return to your old blend. I’ve been drinking PG Tips for 65 years. So sad.

PG Tips - how the tea now tastes bad!!

Another one here to say how PG tips has ruined their tea and in time, their reputation.
It's bland, tasteless and not worthy to be bought again..
Like other companies at this present time, they are coming up with nonsense reasons why they changed their tea.
Absolute B...s!
The real reason is to save them money. Well, they won't have any after changing their teabags, nobody will continuing buying them.
Id love to know how they came up with this nonsense in the Boardroom, what clever souls they must be?!?!🤔😉

Very disappointed with the blend

Very disappointed with the bland, weak blend PG Tips are now putting in their teabags. I thought I'd bought a cheap pack of catering grade ones, and foolishly bought another box, but they're the same. No longer in the iconic pyramid bag, so they take longer to infuse. But you need 2 bags to make a cup strong enough to enjoy - and even if you do, the fresh flavour and pleasant "high" of a good tea are totally absent.
This new blend reminds me of the giant generic catering bags my mum used to buy from the cash and carry.
Such a shame because they were my go-to tea, but I've now discovered there are some delicious premium brands available that are actually better than PG Tips used to be.
So you lost a lot of customers, it seems, and you're not getting us back. Some very bad choices in the marketing department.
