Great site and service

I have played on Phenoms for several years and keep coming back due to the great service and excellent payouts. Most of the negative reviews seem to focus on technical issues and not understanding the waiver system, etc. Since I'm capable of reading and following directions, this hasn't been an issue for me. However, I do agree that leagues that offered 6 teams to make the playoffs would be much appreciated!

TRADE LEAGUES ARE FOR TRADING

I am very passionate about Fantasy Football, probably more than one should be. I understand that in 2014 their will be a board to regulate trading. Not sure that the late Al Davis would have wanted anyone telling him how to run his team. I FEEL THE SAME WAY. I know it is a tough situation for the Commissioner (Mike). And I do empathize deeply. However, I was the team involved in the trade of C. Johnson. For J. Jones and Gonzales. Also suppose to be in that trade was F. Jackson and A Morris to help balance it but was told no dice. This trade can be looked at from two points of view. Then and Now! I wont go as far as to put the numbers out, one who follows FF can look up the stats for them selfs. Fantasy Football is not played in reverse and Hindsight is 20-20. If I pay my $1,000.00 is it really FAIR to keep me from trading in a trading league? How can it be justified to a person that you would have won, but, thats why I did not allow that trade to be made, it would not have been fair; Fair to whom? Because, if a team is good then they do not wanna see a trade that threatens them. A good team will not trade because if its not broke; do not fix it. If a team is bad and has no hope you can not trade them because they will not be able to compete no matter who you trade them. Now lets explore two teams with a chance of making a trade thats gonna make one last push probably going to benefit one team more than the other. That saying make an even trade is rhetoric. How can a person make one last push by making an even trade. In a trading situation I do not think that I need EXPERTS to justify my trades because that in turn is justifying how I spend my money. {I AM AN EXPERT MYSELF} I understand a loop sided trade Kicker for a Qb; Two staters for a Def. Im just saying if I go to Las Vegas they wont tell me how to roll the dice, and this is because my chance of rolling craps is just the same. But if they tell me to put down my money and they roll for me I don not think that would make me happy. I do not go to the Roulette table and spin the wheel, because thats the rules. So if one wants to play Roulette join a NON trading league and let the ball fall where it may. If one wants to play craps join in a trading league throw your own dice. I think the commissioner is to make sure that the dice are not loaded but not actually roll for me. In a trading league it seems as though it is my right to trade. PLEASE protect the rights of the few in-spite of the feelings of the others.

Very worthwhile

It's always a little freaky to send money to someone on the internet when you don't know much about the service but it's a first class operation. League issues do get addressed we get paid quickly. The setup is straight forward and intelligently done. I've been playing FF for 20+ years as a commissioner so I know how many issues there can be. Well done.

Trustworthy Resource to Bring Fantasy Owners Together

Easy to use site to find leagues, join, pay, and then collect winnings at the end of the year. Top-notch commissioner service that manages leagues with an objective presence. The ability to request a league with unique settings or make one private for friends is also a plus.

Phenoms is a great FF site

Phenoms is awesome, its well run and has (most importantly) great payouts. I play every year and when I win I get a check in the mail quickly. I can't wait until next fall already.

Great fantasy football site

Really enjoyed playing in these leagues. Had a hard time finding worst to first waiver wire pickups, as I don't care for blind bidding. Very pleased all the way around.

Fun site but.....

The waiver system was not clear and definitely not intuitive. Lost out on so many players early in the year because of the different tiers needed for each round of waivers. Still don't understand it to this day, and no real way to check out how the waivers went.

Thanks for the feedback, Dean. Improving the waiver claim process is a top priority in designing the new league interface for 2014.

Awesome site to play on!!!!!

I presently play on multiple sites but phenoms is one of my favorites. First of all, love the variety of rules offered for games. Tends to favor the more skillful owner. Second, love that both east and west coast times are available for drafts. Third, the site is extremely well run with the owner readily accessible. Fourth, the payouts are almost immediate!!! Five thumbs up!!!!! The playoff games are also awesome!!!

Great variety and customer service!

Phenoms offers a great variety of leagues. I love the scoring system/settings and allows for Mike responds to emails quickly. I have not done public leagues with any other site, so I have nothing else to compare Phemons with, but this is only because I have been so happy with their leagues that I do not feel their is any reason to look elsewhere for a public league.

Good fantasy site.

I wish there was a league that allowed trading during the season but not allow trading of draft picks.

Excellent service but bylaws could be tweaked

This is perhaps a matter of opinion but the 12 team leagues should have 6 playoff teams. This allows more teams to participate. Often, you get the other guys best shot and though your record might not reflect this your total points do. The top 4 records are often not the 4 best teams.

I've been hearing a lot of people asking for 6 teams out of 12 to make the playoffs, so it's very likely that this will be an option in 2014. Maybe some leagues will remain at 4, and some will be 6. Phenoms offers a lot of variety and listens to feedback. Thanks for the input!

Mike allowed his software vendor to advertise week by week

Mike allowed his software vendor to advertise week by week to go to their gambling site, it was just a bad year.......MIKE is a good guy, but surly doesn't have a crystall ball. Lastly, I hope Mike made some $$ directly or in-directly from Draft Street and if he didn't he might want to learn other things about running a business. DS was a BIG turn off for me. Fantasy Football is not even close to a "skill level" as poker playing and those sites all got shut down..Now you are going to tell me the Fantasy Football is more of a skill than poker playing? Come on now...........It's ALL a form of gambling, NO?

Second, I have been in Mike's leagues for seven years and this was the first year Mike dropped the ball. All in all, nobody is perfect and Mike has always been hands on and is worthy of one bad year out of seven. Mike, nobody has a Crystall ball and you might want to re-think the trading policies in the leagues. Heck, Marvin Jones scored 5 TD's one week and Josh McNown out scored Peyton Manning the last week he played. For you to single handed decide trade values and allow or dis-allow a trade really is no different than starting a player that gets hurt in the first quarter of a game and the owners get's a zero and loses just because of it. AGAIN, their is no crystall ball for anybody, period. I had a guy trade Cobb and the same week Randall get's knocked out for the season. Owner's should be able to trade anybody in the first 7-8 weeks as they have skin in the game. After that, you should consider records to not allow dumping of players as we ALL have freinds and family in most all leagues. Kind of like the REF throwing a flag in the end zone with one minutes to play, giving NE 35 yards and a first and goal and a gift win over the Browns? Their really is no science or crystall ball, its fun, and sure a skill of match ups, BUT in the end its a gamble. If I buy into a trading league then I should be able to trade, keeping in mind it takes two to make a trade. Otherwise, owners should join non trading leagues. Lastly, I feel you had to many blind bidding leagues rather than WTF leagues. It was just a bad year as I said BUT you are a good hearted hands on owner. PEACE to you and good luck in the future..................

First, I'll address the 3rd party promotion of Draftstreet by Myfantasyleague. Neither of those companies are mine. I can't tell Myfantasyleague.com not to partner with Draftstreet. Until Phenoms has its own hosting software in 2014, I had to rely on Myfantasyleague.com to host the leagues. Development of league hosting software is a huge expense and wasn't justifiable when Phenoms was a smaller site. Secondly, Draftstreet isn't illegal and you could simply ignore the promotional message at the top of the screen and hide it. This won't be an issue going forward, anyway.

As to handling trade protests, I do have to ensure that trades aren't so lopsided as to make the league unfair. Did Josh McCown outscore Manning one week? Neat. Does that mean those two players would have equal value and could be traded for each other? Of course not. To think that owners can make any trade they want early in the season isn't logical, as teams could easily collude to load up one team. I have to veto some trades. My policy in Phenoms leagues is to allow owners to manage their teams as they see fit so long as they are giving an honest effort to improve their teams.

commish responsiveness is inadequate

Overall, the types and quantity of leagues is excellent. When problem arise and questions are asked of the commish, issues do not get resolved in short order and the commish does not do a good job overall of communicating with league members.

Has good structure and very challenging.

I am curious as to why your playoff seedlings don't rank wins and losses as the number one tie breaker, which mirrors most leagues in the real world
it cost me in two of the league's I was in...

Wins and Losses are already factored directly into the Victory Points, so total points scored is the first tie-breaker, as it more accurately reflects how good a fantasy team was.

Awesome Games with plenty of variety

This was my first year with Phenoms but it won't be my last. I played in only one league this year but am planning on 3 or 4 next year.

Victory Point scoring was the reason I came to this site, as, I needed to replace a different site (Antsports) who's customer service was terrible and continued to go downhill the last 2 or 3 years.

My only suggestion is that the playoff seeds (in the Omega Leagues) be determined by Victory Points rather than total fantasy points. That is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars.

Try them and you will see that this is a great FFL site.
