My dad died recently and Philips Trust…

My dad died recently and Philips Trust made the will and are the named executors. We have been trying to contact them but their contact number is constantly engaged and our emails have been unsuccessful too. They were originally based in Lichfield, but now in Salford. Can any one give us any advice on how we can contact them. They are making an already stressful time worse.

Philips mistrust

This company needs serious investigation to determine its motives or indeed if it is legitimate company.
After many unanswered phone calls and emails it is apparent that communication is not welcome. It fails In every aspect to convince myself and many others that it is of good repute and one can only wonder if beneficiaries entitled to entrusted assets in Philips trust control will ever receive them.
Fraud squad investigation imminent!

Avoid this disgrace of a company

Avoid this disgrace of a company, very good at taking your money but by god you will be lucky if you can get it back, scamming and refusing to give my 80 year old Father his £40000 back using delaying tactics, now they do not answer the phone or emails……please please if you do one thing right in your life do not let this scum of a company anywhere near your property or money….

Is this the Universal Wealth case all over?

For the past 18 or so months the offices are either closed due to COVID when you call or you call and are cut off.
It's getting very worrying as they are involved in the Family Trust Corporation, Deedbank and Estate Planning Group following the liquidation of the Will Writing Company based in Ruddington who sold our data. This whole trust episode has been costly and stressful and I believe, badly advised. The building societies took commissions to introduce these companies to people, generally older customers with savings and houses, and people trusted the building societies. Now they have washed their hands of it all, yet no doubt kept the commissions and customers are thousands of pounds worse off and stressed unable to contact anyone about their lifesavings and houses. Many having to deal with the situation on losing a parent and trying to understand the situation that the trust own everything, bringing the expense of legal help to transfer out that wasn't explained on the trust set up.

Edit I found on finally getting through, that I now have to call The Family Trust Corporation because they have split from Philips again. I get no communication from either company on this. The FTC still have an answering machine you have to leave a message on, at least it doesn't just say the offices are closed which it did previously.

Modern day dick turpin

This company only received one star as it wouldnt let with comment with No stars. Similar to pats post, my parents had their property in trust with philips. They recently sold due to health reasins to move to a bungalow. Philips promised three independent valuations to the property and liaise with my parents throughout. Philips in fact agreed a price with estate agent after just one valuation and did Not Inform them. They only realised it was, actually up for sale when they were contacted for a viewing. Even at that stage they had no idea of the advertised price!!!!!. After selling my parents were promised the funds would be released after a couple of days. They are still waiting. As pat has, stated they are 'shut' due to covid and the company advised to contact does not appear to actually exist???? My parents, are also contacting the fraud squad as this company clearly are ripping off their clients. My parents are 80 yrs old this is an absolute disgrace.

In 2012 we enquired at the Leeds Building Society aout putting the house into a trust.A manager made arrangements for to see a representatjve fromThe Family Trust. After discussions with the two men we paid £3500 which was the total we would have to pay
However in 2018 Philips Trust took over then all our problems started
for the last three years our solicitors h,ave been trying to get them to hand over our documents they want more money even though we signed a document retiring them it looks as though we will have to take this higher they are the most unethical rude money grabbing firm it is well to be seen they have nobody to take them to task DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM scum of th e earth no morals at all

Delays incompetence and poor advice

We set up trusts with Family Trust corporation in 2012 … I think we were given poor advice to do so.The family home is the only thing in it. Heard nothing for years until 2018 when TaylorRose then PHillips Trust Corp contacted us saying that we had to update our docs as FTC were no longer trading … lie, they still are . £600 and 2 years later the docs finally arrived for signing after meeting the estate planner. After a very unhelpful phone call we decided to take legal advice and our solicitor is now seeking to remove the FTC as a trustee. We do not need a professional trustee and we were badly advised. This area seems to be totally unregulated and I would suggest anyone thinking of setting up a trust to seek independent legal advice. So far this little adventure has cost us about 7k and as far as I can see to little benefit. Very concerned that it might be difficult to sell the house after reading the reviews and experiencing incompetence and delay. Don’t go near firms like this.

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking, avoid at all costs ! My mother took out a probate plan with this company, she died in April and look to have done nothing, we are no further along getting hold of her will which was written by this company, supposedly in secure storage. They don't respond to emails from me or my solicitor. If you want avoid stress at a time when you don't need it, don't use this shambolic company !

Professional with private affairs

All our communications by telephone and Zoom call were done in a professionally polite yet friendly manner. Our meeting was precisely on time and paperwork was prompt and accurate. In dealing with such topics as wills and LPAs we found that our link person was knowledgeable, provided straightforward explanations, advised well and gave us the confidence to proceed. Whilst an interest was shown in us as people we were not pressurised, and that was very important.

I was very pleased with my appointment

I was very pleased with my appointment. Chris gave me a interpersonal approach with no obligation ‘Will’ review with the possibility of purchasing other Estate Planning products.
I wasn’t sure about upgrading my EDP but I’m so glad I have now due to the current climate.
I never bought the LPAs straight away and there was no pressure to do so but Chris sent me a brochure through the post for me to read at my own leisure which I really appreciated.
I bought the LPAs straight after my Will arrived. I only gave this review 4 stars because it took 50 days to arrive instead of 45 but I was politely explained too regarding staff furlough and office deep cleans due to COVID.

Outstanding service for my Free Will…

Outstanding service for my Free Will amendments.

I was told over the phone by Philips Trust that I could only make slight amendments to my Will for free and I needed a complete Will overall and was prepared to pay but Chris the consultant wrote me a brand new Will free of charge.

I spent two hours with him which only seemed to last two minutes as the conversation was made easy in a very informal but professional manner.

My first visit was a positive experience from Chris within the company.

Chris and Philips Trust highly recommend

We were referred to Philips Trust from a friend and we rang Chris the EPC to arrange a meeting.
We didn't buy a will at this stage as we only wanted more knowledge on the best way forward.
He was truly professional and a great advocate for the company, we also really appreciated the no obligation and friendly approach Chris took with us.
After our, what we thought was an exceptional experience with Chris, and because Chris made us feel very easy and comfortable, we decided to use Philips Trust and use them for our estate planning.
We don't often leave reviews, but because of how professional and yet friendly Chris was with us, we wanted to put it out there for others.

Estate Planning Appointment

The Philips Trust EPC was very knowledgeable and gave use both lots of information in a way we could understand.
Chris explained the Will’s and LPAs whilst supporting us with the all the advice and guidance we required.
He spent as much time as we needed in answering all our questions and made us feel very valued customers.
The whole experience of the appointment was very friendly and professional.

Have now receive my funds and my wife’s funds after first applying back in March.Received the final payments a few days before Christmas. Not the best place to have funds if you or your family cannot access the funds for this period of time.

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST

PTC tole me that Family Trust had gone in to liquidation and they had taken over. They sent a representative to see me and I was told I would have to sign a document for them to take over myu trust and I had to pay £460 . Sadly I believed all I was told and paid but then on checking on the Net found Family Trust still active, up to todays date they still are(08/02.2021) I wrote saying I had been ill advised and askesd for my money back. I also told them I did not want Philips Trust to act for me. Suprisingly I got my money back. I then entered into a long saga regarding the removal of my property from trust with Family Trust Corporation. Every letter I wrote to Family Trust was replied to me from Philips Trust. This has been going on now for over 5 years and I have been ill and depressed with it all.

Do not trust this company with your assets

This company took over the administration of our trust from The Family Trust corporation. We recently tried to sell our house which is in the trust and have experienced inconsistent instructions and systems, high fees for administration which lacks clarity, poor support leaving us having to withdraw our house from the market and unsympathetic communication. There is one person who seems to deal with everything and it has been impossible to get beyond this person to speak to anyone in higher authority. This person even appears to deal with the complaint against her and the company. They have added inconsistent administration charges and change their minds at will regarding their charges and systems. We have absolutely no trust in this company to safeguard our assets and to work in our best interest. Working with them is difficult and indeed removing our trust from their control is proving expensive and problematic. We feel our only option is to enlist a solicitor to work on our behalf to remove our home from their control. Please be aware of their disgraceful business acumen and avoid at all cost. Do not find yourself in the stressful and distressing situation we have found ourselves in. 😢

SCAM

If I could give them a lower score I would, have scammed my family members and now having to sort the mess they have caused out and pay additional costs. We have been informed they do not employ any lawyers at all. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
