Cancelled with 2 days notice

Booked a van with them and all the paperwork went through and was then called an hour later and told its already been double booked. They then booked me a different van and 2 days before I was taking it, after giving all my paperwork etc, I was told it's being cancelled. Don't hire from here unless you don't mind last minute cancellations which ruin your plans.

I was definitely not told at all that this was a 'risky' option. When the original van was double booked I asked if there was something bigger and I was told yes there's a Luton van. This was booked for me at the same price and I wasn't told anything about there being a possibility of being cancelled otherwise I'd have used another company. I was only told I need to be on time when I return the van on Sunday morning as it was going out again later which I agreed to. I'm sure you record the calls you should take a listen. No one said there's any chance of it being cancelled - I wouldn't rely on this option if they had.

I was WhatsApped Thursday and even sent over my license, ID etc... and then was told the van isn't available later. If you actually told me this was a 50/50 then I wouldn't have booked it at all. There's plenty of companies in Birmingham I wasn't desperate I just trusted that if you booked me a van then I could actually pick it up. You just wasted some of my time and I had to book with another company which I wish I did from the start. Your processes are all over the place. I even called into the office after booking online initially just to make sure everything was received and ask how the process works and wasn't told anything about there 1st van being double booked. People run over yes its not your fault the van won't be bought back on time but for someone using your company for the first time I was messed around twice and left with 2 days to organise a van for a house move. You need to sort out your booking system I'm not sure how you don't know when your vans are going to be back.

Thank you for your review. We take all feedback very seriously and apologise for having to cancel the booking you made on our website yesterday afternoon. We would like to expand on this to explain our side of the situation.
Firstly, we would like to clarify that this entire situation occurred between yesterday afternoon and this morning. We contacted you within 30 minutes of your online booking to inform you that, unfortunately, we could not supply the booked vehicle. We explained that a telephone booking had been made just minutes before your online booking, and the booking system had not yet updated.
You were understandably very upset and mentioned that you were in urgent need of a vehicle, as you were unable to find one elsewhere and were due to move house on Saturday. You asked if we could arrange an alternative. While we explained this would be difficult, we advised that we might have a larger vehicle returning at 12pm on Saturday, which could be made available until 8:30am on Sunday. We also made it clear that this option was risky, as it depended entirely on the vehicle being returned on time by the existing customer, and the turnaround window was very tight.
You agreed that this would have to suffice, and we proceeded with the booking. However, due to your urgent situation and against our better judgement, our staff member confirmed this booking yesterday afternoon.
Unfortunately, following a call from our existing customer this morning, we were informed that the vehicle due back on Saturday may be returned later than expected. We immediately notified you of this update.
We genuinely did our best to accommodate your last-minute request, but unfortunately this has resulted in a negative review being left for us on Google and Trustpilot. We feel this review is unfair, as the situation was fully explained to you, and we went beyond our usual procedures to try to assist with your urgent requirements.
We can assure you that we will not make the same exception again in the future. As you will see from our previous reviews, this is not reflective of our usual standards. We would also like to reassure all customers that this situation will not be repeated.
Out of the thousands of bookings we have successfully fulfilled, this is the first negative feedback we have received. However, we always encourage customers to provide feedback, whether positive or negative, as it helps us improve our service.

EXCELLENT 5* SERVICE

The whole process is so simple with immediate confirmation via Whatsapp, the prices are by far the best in the county plus they really helped me out and delivered the vehicle on time and in great condition. They will be getting my recommendation to friends and family and I will most certainly be using their services again. Great job to you all. 5*

Not only is there customer service Top Notch and on point but their prices are unbeatable!

We hired a small van and got a great price and a lovely van!
From my first phone call with Carl who was so polite, friendly and professional to then pick up where we met Jacob who again was amazing!
Even if I needed to call them to ask them a question it was never a problem!
And I’m so sorry but my partner didn’t get the gentleman’s name on drop off but he again was faultless and great!

My partner had gone through the Dartford Bridge the day before he was due to drop the van back and he needed to pay the charge but we had dropped the van back and couldn’t remember the registration.
I messaged them LATE at night asking if they could send the registration and they did!! They were actually closed! How many company’s out there would respond out of hours? Well this company did! Again shows amazing customer service.

I really hope the owner and managers know that they have a great team!
And without a doubt 💯 recommend this company! I really can’t speak highly enough of them!

Will definitely be using you again!!

Luton Van Hire

Recently hired a Luton van from phleet rentals to move house with, was greeted with Jake when collecting the van who was fantastic,

From start to finish was a really easy process, Jake explained everything well,

Vehicle drove spot on and was nice and clean

Price for hire was brilliant - alot of other companies charge more

Will definitely use again in the future

Very pleasing experience indeed

Very pleasing experience indeed. The whole process was smooth and seamless exactly what I was looking for. The staff were polite and respectful. Communication was excellent and the vehicle was clean, everything worked and it had a full tank of fuel. The price was very reasonable in comparison to competitors. I have told friend & family and should I require a hired vehicle in the future I will be forever using Phleet. I'm not normally in the habit in writing reviews but the professionalism and customer service I received has been of the highest grade. Its a small run family business but I suspect providing the service they do, in the way they do, they won't be small for long. Great customer service, great people and great vehicles. 5 stars all the way!!!

Rented a Luton for 24hrs for a house move and the whole process was straightforward and seamless from start to finish.
The communication from Jacob was spot on. Really appreciated the text messages when I couldn’t speak. Collection was quick and efficient and the van was in great shape and condition. Extremely competitively priced and fantastic value for money.
Can’t fault a single thing and I will definitely be using them again.

Best company to hire from

Phleet were amazing when it came to hiring a van for our house move from them. Jacob was very polite and professional. He was very accommodating as our date to complete kept changing and they have the best prices around. I have already recommended them to a few friends and would definitely use them again for any hire that we need.

Great Experience

Our usual van broke down and was in the garage for a good 6 months.

As this van is used for all our deliveries, we needed to rent a replacement. I contacted phleet with my problem and they were very helpful from start to finish.

We ended up getting a replacement transit from them for the entire time. It ran very well and the price was favourable, even when we needed to extend our use by 2 months.

Massive thanks for your help, if we run into another issue with our own van, I will certainly be in touch.

100% Recommend!

I recently collected a Mitsubishi I200 pickup and a flatbed trailer from Phleet and could not fault the experience.

Jacob was a pleasure to deal with and ensured I was able to walk away with exactly what I needed with a quick turnaround!

The vehicle and trailer were in mint condition and the whole process ran smoothly. I will certainly be using Phleets services again in the future!

Fantastic experience

Fantastic experience.
I picked up a Nissan Navara and the experience was truly second to none. The vehicle was in superb condition and served its purpose well. I couldn’t fault Jake and the team at Phleet as they were exceptional. Would highly recommend and will be using again.
