Diabolical

Diabolical.
Charged in full for an operation I couldn't have, owing to a heart condition that introduced itself a few days before the surgery.
I was told in writing the full amount was being refunded, only for the Hospital Director to follow up and say it would be 50%. This 50% has not materialised.

Amazing hospital

Had surgery booked in for this hospital. The whole process was very easy. I was contacted before the surgery to explain the covid process etc. From the moment I walked in to walking out, the whole experience and the care I recieved was outstanding. The staff/doctors/nurses are all amazing and I recieved amazing care from them during my admission. The hospital called me the following day to make sure everything was well. Thank you Dr Islam and everyone at Weymouth Street hospital.

Appalling admin. Turn up for an appt they haven’t booked in. Staff allowed to hang up the phone when you ask a question they don’t understand. Missing notes, Shambles.

Running some kind of scam

This hospital is running some kind of scam. I paid £2,000 for a sleep study in September 2021. This was to get it done quicker than the NHS appointment, which I had been offered for early summer 2022. Twice in October and November the hospital cancelled my scheduled appointment. I rescheduled for end of November. Sadly, on the day of my appointment, I woke up with symptoms of noro virus (which had been going round my son's nursery) and so I had to cancel. The next day my son was taken into and admitted to hospital with a serious condition so I temporarily forgot about rebooking my appointment. When things had calmed down, I reconsidered and decided that with the hospital cancelling my appointment twice, and then my unfortunate sickness, it was now no longer worth spending 2k on something I could get for free in a few months' time. My situation had also been changing, with my symptoms slowly being alleviated so I was no longer suffering so seriously. I emailed the hospital explaining the situation and asking for a refund. The bookings team sent me a polite email assuring me the money would be refunded within a week. That was a Monday two weeks ago. The following week, not having received the money back, I emailed them and had no reply. I sent a second email, begging them to refund the money or let me know what was going on. No reply. This morning I phone the bookings team and politely asked what was going on with my refund. The lady, Gemma, asked for my name and said she would put me on hold. After a few minutes, someone retrieved the call off hold and without speaking to me, disconnected the call. In other words, they hung up on me. I called back twice and the call went straight to answer machine. I have no idea what kind of scam they are trying to pull here. At first they were so helpful and assured me in writing I would have a refund within a week. For some reason they then stopped replying to my emails and started hanging up the phone on me. What the hell is going on? Next step small claims court where I will also be claiming for interest and court costs.
