This company is an utter scam & I’m disgraced how they’ve even targeted any of our photography pages. It’s an injustice to all us business owners. Just reading these other reviews I genuinely feel so... See more

They stole my photos too.

Yes, I see they stole a lot of photos, including mine. Mine were stolen from a Facebook group. They also provided my phone number and a link to Instagram. This is amazing impudence and also a violation of the law.

Blatant photo copyright theft

As others have said, these crooks have completely stolen my entire photo library and listed it on their "service" without any permissions or contact from me whatsoever, and now they're trying to get me to give them money for the privilege. Will be threatening them with a cease and desist letter from a lawyer if they don't remove my stuff from their site

Absolute scam

Stole my personal data and photos without permission. Then, they gave me the "exciting news" that I can pay them to access and update the listing I NEVER REQUESTED.
Don't give these clowns a penny. Just tell them to remove the listing

International Scam

Dear Sirs,
We contact you on behalf of the Associazione Nazionale Fotografi Professionisti TAU visual, representing approximately 2,000 professional photographers throughout Italy. Many of our members have been, much to their dismay, embroiled in your operation of the compulsory cataloging of photographic resources found online, and have approached us with the intent of rejecting such a condition.

Far from constituting a professional opportunity, this entire endeavor amounts to an illicit acquisition of content, wrongfully taken from its rightful owners and repurposed as "personal records" for a fee.
We staunchly contest the entirety of this operation and hereby formally caution you against continuing to gather and reuse our members' content and any data pertaining to them. We demand that you promptly erase all data of our members from your platform and also ensure the removal of any copies of the same from your servers, including backups.

A questionable site with questionable practices

I received an email from this website informing me that my "esteemed photographer service" had been "added to our comprehensive photography services directory", along with a link to claim the listing. The problem? I NEVER GAVE PERMISSION TO BE LISTED.

The email encouraged me to claim the listing, update it for accuracy, and then share the listing with others, even providing a prewritten templated message that I could use on social media. The site describes it as a "partnership", but given how they created my listing without asking me in the first place, this seems more like coercion than a partnership.

I emailed them bluntly demanding that they take down my listing, and fortunately, they took it down within minutes of the email being sent, hence why I am giving two stars. Two stars is generous though, for a company that thinks they can shoehorn a partnership.

Taken all my photographs from Facebook without permission basically stealing and used all my personal information to make up a fake website.
Totally unacceptable and doubt it will ever get taken down unless some does.
A form of identiy theft and a scam shame on you.
Never even asked to use the photophaphs.

It might be a good idea, but it's not a good way to implement it ...

If it's genuine, it could be a good idea, but they are going about it the wrong way. If they want people to sign up, they should have a basic listing (as lots of directories do) and then get permission to feature images and social media feeds. As it is, it doesn't sound like people can control what is shown on this website. Scraping publicly viewable content without permission or ability to control usage is not necessarily illegal but it is very annoying, and will prove counterproductive, deterring people from supporting the initiative.

They took my entire public content and…

They took my entire public content and cloned my Instagram posts and told me that I should be pleased they "listed" me and my content on their site. I wrote to them to tell them that they do not have my permission to do this and it's in copyright violation but I doubt it will make a difference. Not sure how to proceed actually.

Website takes content without permission

Photography1000 takes your content without permission by creating "listings" then prompts you to create an account to "claim" or remove the listing. I.e. hand over your email to their email list so that you can remove your content (stolen content) from their site.
