I have used Please Pickup several times…

I have used Please Pickup several times with good experiences. Today, was the exception. I pulled 3 bags and 5 boxes out to our driveway before 8am as required. I received an email notification the driver would arrive between 9:15am and 12:15pm. I left early to run errands. When I returned my items were still in the same location in my driveway. I called the Customer Service for Please Pickup to see what happened with the driver. I was told the driver told the office he didn’t pick up the items because the items boxes were overfilled and items were spilling out. This was an absolute LIE!!! I previously took pictures of the boxed and bagged items. We also have a camera that captures the driveway. The other reason I know the driver lied is he was given a security code to enter our neighborhood. It notifies me when it’s been accessed. It appears the driver didn’t even make the trip to get the items…he just lied! I offered to send Customer Service Mgr pictures to show how the items were packaged as their driver was not telling the truth. I was told they have no way to receive email.

Very disappointed with my experience…

Very disappointed with my experience with Please Pick Up. I donated hundreds of dollars worth of items in good condition, hoping they would go to a good cause. Unfortunately, my pickup was rescheduled three separate times. After waiting and rearranging my schedule multiple times, I was told the pickup wouldn’t happen because the driver didn’t want to do it.

It’s really sad that an organization asking for donations would treat donors this way. Donating should be a positive experience, but this was frustrating and a complete waste of time. I understand that scheduling issues can happen, but repeatedly rescheduling and then failing to complete the pickup is unacceptable. I expected much better communication and reliability.

I have been using Pickup Please…

I have been using Pickup Please occasionally. I left a few items outside in a nice little pile but two drivers that came did not pick them up because the items were not boxed. That was one thing. When I went outside to get their attention they drove off as if they didn’t see me. I found that to be very rude. Two men and they couldn’t take the time to box them or give me a warning rather than just leave the items outside. They will NEVER have to worry about my leaving a donation again. I believe they just didn’t want to work. I’ve seen it where one man carried items that was more than what I left today. The excuse was poor in my opinion. I would not recommend using them. I’ll bring them to goodwill. I’m sure they will make use of the items

I have used Pickup Please for 5+ years

I have used Pickup Please for 5+ years. The experience has been consistently excellent from start to finish!

I have never had any issues and the communication/ reminders are great from request to pickup to time frame to when the driver will arrive.

I will continue to recommend a Company as reliable as Pickup Please!

Liars

On their website, I scheduled a pickup for books, just books. The website gave a checkbox for books so I checked the box for "Books". I placed them on the porch, shrink-wrapped in several bundles and waited for pickup. The driver arrived, looked at the stack of books and said, "Just books? We don't take books." He supposedly called his supervisor and the driver said the supervisor would call me --- which he NEVER did. Driver said the supervisor said "no books" and the driver left without picking up my donation of books.

I then called their 800 number and the guy on the phone tried to twist the facts by saying the driver didn't pick up the books "because they weren't in boxes or bags." THAT IS NOT WHAT THE ONSITE DRIVER OR HIS SUPERVISOR SAID -- THEY SAID "WE DON'T TAKE BOOKS". Period. No, they want the family jewels instead.

I will NEVER try to donate to this organization again. They are LIARS!

Cancelled TWICE at the last minute.

I have donated several times. TWICE they cancelled within an hour of being due to come. After I lugged a bunch of stuff outside and had it sitting in front of the house. I have used other pick up donations in the past and they have never cancelled, never mind at the last minute. I'm done with them, I'm not hauling a bunch of stuff outside just for them to say they are not coming.

I’ve used this service for donating to Donate to a charity

I’ve used this service for donating to a Veterans Charity several times over the past few years. Each time they had some reason for not taking all the items. Knowing this I purposely prepared everything and had it out on the driveway with a sign on the box closest to the street and another on a piece of furniture at the other end of the row of donations. I was out when they came by. They took only one box and one bag and left the other items (about 14 items were left behind). When I called them they said EVERY SINGLE item had to have a sign attached to it or they couldn’t take it. They left a framed mirror, matching chairs a set of end tables and small appliances that work, some electronics…
I asked them to come back and I would be home to be sure the items were labeled but they refused and said they had to reschedule for another day. The customer service person was very rude and hung up on me when I explained that I couldn’t leave the items out and I have an injured shoulder. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using this service.

PickupPlease.org is a service used to…

PickupPlease.org is a service used to collect donations for Veterans charities. I the last year I have scheduled 9 pick ups. Of those they did not show up for one and I had to reschedule. Last week they showed up, but since I was in a virtual meeting and could not leave, I was presenting, the driver took nothing and I had to reschedule. Today they showed up and cherry picked the donations. They used to be really good, but these days they are awful. I am taking my donations elsewhere from now on.
