PicMonkey FRAUD

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I signed up for the free trial canceled the subscription and was billed 120.00 for the full year the only option the give is to lower the plan. I don’t need this service and would like it to be canceled effective today 4-21-20. I have no problem with the service being prorated but I don’t want to pay the for a full year when I’m not using the service. I can’t afford this with COVID-19 going on and shelter in place please cancel the service and refund my money.

I messaged them via the website because I did not sign up for the 1 year plan. All I did was set up a free trial and now I have been charged $120 and I don't even like the program it wasn't exactly what I was needing. So now I don't now how or if they've even seen the message I sent them today because I didnt get a confirmation email or anything. but I really can not afford losing $120 right now!

PicMonkey charged me twice for an…

PicMonkey charged me twice for an amount of 71.88$ which I NEVER authorized. I recall using their website last year which I signed up for the free trial and used for 5 minutes and cancelled right afterwards (I'm careful about this things and remember I did). As a busy student in college, I didn't realized the first transaction but I saw they charged me again on the 2/4/2020. I proceeded to cancel again the subscription and noticed that I didn't get any confirmation email about my cancellation. I also never received any email notifying me about being charge in both occasions. My bank is investigating. This company is a scam!!
Edit: the company answered my email and did refund me one transaction..

Can’t beat this app!!!

I have been using this site for about 4 years! Love it! So user friendly and WORTH the small charge every month!!! Great for collages and blemish removal. There are so many options on this site you will be overloaded with creative juices. Editing one pic can lead to multiple versions of the same shot!!! LOVE PICMONKEY!!

Just like other reviews it's bs. Offers free. I used it 5 minutes and didn't like it, never went on it again and all of a sudden got a 14.99 bill and waa set up for monthly. Scam monkey should be the real name.

HORRIBLE

Horrible platform (Extremely slow, makes my computer crash/overheat like crazy, and their site always crashes mid-use) and horrible prices (same issues as others...).

I signed up for the trial and got screwed

I signed up for the trial. I selected to be charged $6 or $7 a month. I am very careful when I sign up for things so I know I didn’t make a mistake. I was charged the full $72 annual fee! I emailed pic monkey explaining I wanted my money back and to cancel.

I got an email in return stating they needed to confirm the email on the account (if the email I am writing from is the same as my account, it’s clearly me...) and we could “discuss”. I wrote back and clearly stated I cancelled and want my money back. I will be calling my bank to dispute once the charges are no longer pending and I will report to better business bureau.

Thank you PicMonkey !

Sorry for my bad English, I speak French...
I like PicMonkey a lot, I've tried a lot of photo editing websites and PicMonkey is really the best, I used the 7 free trial days.
The customer service is also very very responsive, understanding and honest, I had a problem with the payment of a subscription and they reacted immediately in my favor.
I am pleasantly surprised and I can not believe all the negative reviews for PicMonkey, they are just great !!

I had the same issue as others

I had the same issue as others - signed up for a free trial and then WHAM my credit card was charged $120 for a full one year subscription. No notification that it would be charged. No email address or phone number to contact them.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE! WORST COMPANY EVER!
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY YOU MAY EVER DEAL WITH!
Even though I cancelled within the 7 day free trial I was charged for a 3 MONTHS! I HAD TO CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR THEM TO STOP CHARGING ME.There is no phone number to talk to a live person to dispute the charge or cancel the unwanted subscription, or even an address to write a letter. The phone number my CC company gave me for PIC Monkey to dispute the charge had a voice recording that stated to send any inquiries to their help desk, because they do not accept phone calls. Also, there is no where on your account to cancel the subscription! BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT ACCEPT THE FREE TRIAL!!!
CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU RIGHT AWAY!

Looks good, performs bad

I'll start with the positives:
Using PicMonkey is very intuitive and easy to use. It's much simpler to learn than other programs and the interface is clean and user-friendly.
You have a large variety of tools that you can use freely and relatively interchangeable to achieve a result you are satisfied of.

Now the downsides:
You have to pay if you want to export any of your creations, and if you use the free tril you are required to put in your credit card information.

One workaround to this is to just screenshot your edits, which unfortunately lowers the quality a lot. It is possible to fullscreen, although picmonkey itsself disabled this to force a lower quality image in the editing interface (can be bypassed by opening a new tab, pressing F11, and then CTRL+1 to return back to Picmonkey on the first tab in fullscreen)
Additionally, the newest version of picmonkey is incredibly laggy and sluggish, it is impossible to use it even for utter basics from the amount it lags.

I would not suggest using picmonkey, other than for basic, small images where quality doesn't matter much (such as video thumbnails or small logos)

PicMonkey are crooks.

I don't have an account with PicMonkey, however, they keep charging my credit card monthly. When I tried to reach out to customer service, they have not responded through email. I tried to call, however, they don't answer the phone. They seem to be crooks charging my account with no responsiblity.

Picmonkey Fails Customer Service

I utilized their free trial and cancelled within the time allotted. They charged me for a full year anyhow. When looking for something else I noticed online at my credit card site that they never refunded my account. I contacted them and the credit card company. Picmonkey never emailed me a refund / cancellation statement or if they did it went into any junk folder and maybe was deleted. CC says without that they can not refund. PM refuses to do anything. As someone who was loved the Nordstrom Way and other great customer satisfaction companies I find Picmonkey's treatment of this customer and its practice to be shameless and pitiful.

Beware!!

Beware!!! This company is extremely underhand. I signed up for a free trial for my daughter. I then forgot to cancel on the exact day and every time I think I've cancelled when I'm checking my credit card statements, low and behold, that $4.99 is still being taken out. The PicMoneky account is closed and I've done everything I'm meant to. Tomorrow, the only thing left is to cancel the credit card. I'd say these guys spend far more time on legal payment loopholes than offering useful products.
