Great concept, poorly executed. Kids don’t like!

First off, I wanted to love this product so much because I am constantly trying to get my kids out in nature and this looked like a great way for me to take them walking with me and get a little exercise at the same time. But after receiving the piggy back rider and opening it, my first thought was this is not worth the money. This product looks and feels cheap and while it may look safe for the rider, in my opinion it is not, and it certainly isn’t very ergonomic. The kids are not really secured, the “harness” they wear doesn’t fasten around them so if they slipped off the bar, I could see them not only whacking their shins, but also sliding out of the “harness” all together. Additionally, due to the narrow width of the bar that their feet stand on, my kids complain of their calves cramping after about 15 minutes.

Over all, I’m out money because after both of my kids tried it out, they refuse to ride in it anymore. I think there are ways to modify it and make it more ergonomic and safe, but after dropping $100 I was hoping to use without having to do anything.

Early Impression

My daughter is at the upper end of the weight capacity, she is 4 but not ready to tackle full hikes yet. The pack part is comfortable even with 38lbs riding. I really like that she is right in my ear telling me about everything she sees, it’s a pretty cool experience to be at eye level and just talking. 2 negatives I see: I wish there was a Velcro piece or something to stow the bar when she’s off so it’s not just bouncing off my rear, and a wider bar so her feet could go outside my hips/ obliques would make a comfortable wear as well. Overall great product.

Made hiking possible with little ones

The piggyback rider has made hiking with our family possible. We as a family love to hike, but it's hard when the littlest kid is 3 and cannot do longer treks. Now were are all able to go on longer hikes and the little one can hop on for a ride.

Really happy with this carrier

Really happy with this carrier. Been searching for a while for one that suits us and our active, energetic toddler and allows us to keep the pushchair at home, but have a back-up plan for when she eventually tires. Thanks

Love the concept and was so excited but a few things are not quite worked out. The bar hits the back of my legs and hurts as I walk. Wearing the back brace, it was great for me but the rough fabric rubbed my daughter’s knees and gave her smal rug burns and she was crying to get off

More than I expected

Because they weren't going to carry the size I ordered anymore, they sent me two of the piggyback riders. The product came right away and was perfect. Good online experience.

Father's Day Gift

This was a Father's Day present - (given to me weeks early because my wife couldn't wait to introduce our granddaughter to the joys of hiking). She (2 1/2 year old granddaughter) loved the combined experience of exploring by foot interspersed with standing on "pop pop's" back. The piggyback set up (included loading child) effortlessly. It seems safe, strong, and well made. My only suggestion would be to provide adult shoulder padding (like the belt accessory which I wore comfortably) to help ease pressure. Otherwise, this carrier is one of the best hiking accessories I've ever owned!

Best thing I ever bought!

Best thing I ever bought!! If your on the fence about buying one let me ask you a question; have you ever put your child on your shoulders so they could have a better view or has your child ever wandered out of sight? Mine has and he is fast. I bought this to help contain and to keep him from getting tired at Disney. He absolutely loved it and so did I, i didnt have to carry him on my neck and have a sore body after. I do recommend the hip belt to keep the feet from digging in to your sides or backside. I ordered the hip belt to late, I mentioned it to them I needed it for Disney and I laughed it off that I should have tried it sooner. Piggyback rider 2 day shipped one to me so I would have it in time. I'm so grateful, only thing I would change is to add a hydration bladder but I bought one and used them together worked great in the 100 degree Florida weather.

Great idea

Great idea, good execution, good quality.
My problem, I ordered it from Canada and shipping, fees and customs made the thing just too expensive... I don't know yet if it was worth it...
I like it, but I will see about the value... The test: Canadian GP in Montreal... will see how it goes...

Love this!

Great Product! My kid loves it.
I'd seen this profiled and thought my two and a half year old might enjoy this more than the soft structured carrier I've been using since she was born. I was absolutely right! From the time me tried it on both her aunt and me at home, to using it on the waterfront in Gloucester, MA, it was a hit. The kid smiled the whole time - she loves being able to see everything and to cuddle up to the person whose back she is on. Cons: It's a bit of a pain to get the mud flap and the waist belt on at the same time when you're putting it together, but the waist band is really essential for long periods. And if you're short, the standing platform hits in a really weird spot mid-buttocks. Not awful, but it would be nice to be able to adjust it a little higher onto my hips. (The waist belt helps with that, too.)
