Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 139 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the website's new format, describing it as awful and a significant downgrade from its previous version. People frequently reported issues with qualifying for surveys, often being disqualified after spending considerable time answering questions, or finding surveys full immediately upon clicking the link. The value for money was also a major concern, as many felt the payouts for their time and data had significantly decreased, making the effort no longer worthwhile. Customer service was widely criticized for being unhelpful, slow, and providing generic responses that did not resolve issues. However, some customers also noted that in the past, the platform was reliable, offered good payouts, and provided interesting surveys, with few issues regarding payments or website functionality.

Research elsewhere

Nothing good to say...it would takes years to get any good reward...considering maybe 1 in 10 surveys actually succeed at maybe 300 points, but any good reward starts at 17000 points...I thought it would have been a great app after reading reviews..I was wrong...waste of time, energy and phone space

Continued downhill performance and no support

When I first signed up with Pinecone Research, many years ago, they paid $5 per survey, had phone support and were pretty reliable.

Soon thereafter they reduced the survey redemption to $3 and they dropped phone support. Over the years the survey reliability has dropped considerably and in the past two years the frequency of failure has increased dramatically.

Last year I tried to call the parent company several times and the people I talked to could not give me a contact, a couple saying, "They never heard of them!"

Surveys are slow in posting and sometime you have to wait several minutes and go through several questions only to be told you don't qualify.

This past year I am continually told, "unfortunately your profile doesn't match our requirements for this survey". Within the past three days, I received this response for no less than eight surveys, and each takes several minutes of my time with no credits.

There is no support at all, only 'canned' responses that don't relate.

Worse is that rewards are incrementally available and if you're shy a few points you cannot redeem your full credit points. At this point, I am trying to quit, but I don't want to loose any of the credit points that I have earned and that doesn't appear possible.

Waste of time and I'm totally disasppointed in their lack of support. I've been a Pinecone participant for more than a decade. NO contact number, no support, and totally inadequate performance on their part.

Pays Out as Expected

My experience with Pinecone has been nothing but positive. I get regular survey offers, usually at least one per day. Are you getting rich? No. But you can pay for your daily coffee!

I'm getting $3.00 for about 10 minutes or less of my time. I'm not sure how these other users are experiencing such a negative time. Speeding through the surveys and you get low quality surveys sent to you? I can't really speak for the others but it's entirely possible those accounts have been flagged for poor responses. I don't know.

Great experience for me!

No longer a good company

Like other reviewers, I have completed Pinecone Research surveys for years and it had previously been fine, although infrequent at times. Then suddenly, the last three surveys that I qualified for AND completed, I have not been paid for. I did get an answer to one email that asserted nothing has changed, but obviously from my experience and other reviews here, something has. Don't waste your time!

Pinecone Research has become the scum of Survey Sites.

Pinecone Research has become the scum of survey sites. They ask qualifying questions, have you complete the survey and then refuse to pay, claiming you were disqualified. Sadly, even when presented with evidence that the survey was completed, they ignore you and are
basically call you stupid and a liar. Karen Scott is short tempered and ill suited for public work.

Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time. I've been signed up for months and have been offered 2 surveys that I've been screened out of. I kind of annoyed that they're allowed to this with the promises that they initially make. Utter rubbish.

Was once worthwhile but not anymore

Used to be worthwhile. At one time I received 3-4 surveys a week and qualified for the vast majority. Now I'm lucky if I get 1 every TWO MONTHS. I have been screened out of every survey for the past 8 months.

Unlike days past where you would screen out within the first few minutes, now you get through the majority of the survey before being screened out.

Minimum cash out and format keeps changing. At this rate it will take another 10 years to reach the current minimum cash out.

Absolute waste of time.

Terrible Survey Site

I joined this site about 6 weeks ago. They are terrible and after I read all these reviews I am deleting my account. They give you test surveys to qualify for paying surveys and when they send you a survey they will disqualify you after you spend 30 minutes or more taking it. Please share this with other survey participants so they don’t waste there time. After I read all these reviews they ought to be ashamed of themselves. There should be something done about sites like this taking advantage of people.

Disrespectful - $1 a survey instead of $3?!

I was in Pinecone a few years ago. I didn't answer some surveys for a couple weeks and was INSTANTLY kicked out even though I was in it for years. I kept emailing and no one was getting back to me.

Years later, I entered again. It is now $1 per survey (even if the survey is really long) instead of $3 a survey. I'm gonna email them to quit. This is just disrespectful.

This website is a complete scam!

This website is a complete scam!! Do not trust Pinecone. They literally never respond to emails which is so frustrating. Their surveys also never work. They tell me to use my computer, even though they have an app... for iphones... yet it doesn't work. Anytime you open a survey it loads for 5 full minutes then says "thank you you don't qualify." how am I not qualified when I didnt even get to answer ONE question... it makes no sense. Plus the amount of times I have FULLY completed a survey then it crashes and no points are rewarded. You email them and guess what? NO REPLY! Terrible. Do not use

No longer good!

I've been a member of Pinecone Research for years and thought it was a decent survey site, but unfortunately things have changed and I can no longer recommend them. I almost never get invitations anymore, and when I do, it's even more rare for me to qualify. I could live with that, but they've changed how you can redeem. Cashing out used to be instant but no longer is. I would need to complete at least four surveys, so if I was able to complete a random survey sent my way, it would still probably take a very long time before I could cash in the money I had earned. Bottom line-- don't waste your time!

Been a member over 15 years

Been a member over 15 years. Payouts used to happen with ease and the surveys were fun. As of June 2024 the payout system is now rigged. You will now need to complete at least 4 surveys to be able to cash out. That on avg could take up to 6 months. Not worth it anymore and unsubscribed today. Don't sign up.

Not worth it

Pinecone was okay up until about 3 years ago. I used to get several surveys a month I "qualified" for, but now I get about 1 survey invite a week and I was NOT qualified for 2 out of 3 of them. And people still talking about the 3 dollar per survey completed? Who's getting that? I made 1 whole dollar for the 1 survey I was qualified for after getting back on the site. Not worth the time to make candybar money a month.

IT GOT WORSE THE LONGER I PARTICIPATED

I was a participant of pine cone for six years. They will capriciously turn your account off, if they have no need for you and not inform you. The were many lost opportunities with pinecone. About half of their survey would spontaneously abort and the best they could do was "tough, better luck next time". The product testing had enough problems to be of concern, self aborting screening, damaged shipping, product not arriving enough to not be worth the total expended time and the same "tough for you" response. Once the pay for the product test declined to a few bucks, I nixed my account. I Don't miss the marginalization and low value yield doing their survey. They don't reward loyalty either.

LEGIT LEGIT LEGIT LEGIT

I've been with Pinecone Research for over 1yr. I can't complain every survey you are compensated a standard amount of points that you can INSTANTLY CASH OUT AT $3.
Surveys aren't rapid but if you let them build up or not each survey 300 pts $3 same day cash out.

Impossible to claim rewards, every time I try i get error messages, wanting me to call and sort it, then reached out to them for help to be spoken to in an awful manner, so l stopped scanning until the issue was sorted, they were soon in the phone when l wasn’t putting in my weekly shops, when l tried to explain to them that there was an issue and told them while on the phone they accused me of doing it wrong, l think this company is a total scam and they won’t pay out any voucher at all, I’ve deleted the app and look forward to there response of my review, reading the other reviews it’s quite clear I’m not the only person with the same issues
