My A9 has had problems for over a year since buying them. I've been back and forth with tech support this whole time. They finally sent me to a repair center and now pioneer has denied that i have warranty coverage even after i sent them back the receipt they sent confirming i paid in full! I have two years left for Ata extended care warranty. They're still refusing to pay for the defective equipment they sold me! So mad, I paid way too much for this garbage!

DDJ-400 Upgrading to RX3

I had this controller for over 6+ years and still working surprisingly well with no issues at all. After sometime of not using it, it got a little dusty in the volumes but it was an easy fix. since I always test it to make sure it still working like when I first bought it. On the other side after careful consideration, this 2026 Im going to buy my RX3 since... its my favorite and perfect for me.

A company that is more like a clowns meeting

I bought a djm s7 in December 2024 to use with rekordbox on my Macbook, in September 2025 I updated to macOs Tahoe and since then I have been unable to use all my setup because the mixer drivers are not compatible with the new operating system, after several reports from several different users Alphatheta to date (January 31, 2026) has not yet resolved the situation, which is ridiculous, I feel extremely disappointed, go buy rane products or denon ones instead, this company deserves bankruptcy.

❌❌❌£3000 Flagship Unit That’s a Complete Failure – Avoid AlphaTheta at All Costs

I bought the AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ (£3000!!!) expecting a flagship, professional-grade unit. Instead, it has been nothing but a nightmare from the start. Within two months, it developed two dead pixels (one permanent, one intermittent) and then the screen began shutting off randomly, leaving me with no touch panel control. Imagine standing in front of a packed club and suddenly losing your display — the only fix is to power down, wait 20 minutes, and pray it turns back on. Completely humiliating. Sometimes this happens 15 minutes into a set, sometimes hours later. Totally random, totally unacceptable.

And that’s just the start. When mixing tracks of similar BPM/genre, one deck will randomly decide to drop to half tempo while the other stays normal — wrecking mixes and making it look like the DJ is at fault. Quantize on or off doesn’t matter, it still happens. Beat sync fails randomly, transitions collapse, and the decks literally lose the ability to mix. This mirrors the same faults people have complained about with the CDJ-3000.

I contacted AlphaTheta support expecting a premium level of service for a premium unit. Instead? Ignored emails, ridiculous requests, and outright denial of responsibility. First they asked me to record how I wire my computer into the unit (it’s a standalone unit, nothing to do with my computer). Then they wanted videos of the faults — I sent them. Silence. Logged another fault ticket, still ignored. Called the hotline today and was told the screen isn’t covered under warranty (after TWO WEEKS of use!). They then told me I’d need to record an 8-hour continuous video just to prove the intermittent screen failure. What a joke.

This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. £3000 for a unit that is unreliable, cheaply made, and utterly untrustworthy in live performance. Even at home, it ruins the experience.

I will never buy AlphaTheta equipment again. This XDJ-AZ is going in the bin where it belongs. Save your money, save your reputation, and avoid this company completely.

I came from dennon and bought the…

I came from dennon and bought the flx-10 what I had nothing but problems with since setting up the first time after buying this from bop dj... Bop dj kept taking me through loads of steps saying it could be a pc issue what I had upgraded and kept telling me it can't be the device it's brand new so I bought a new laptop costing me £1000 to be told to try again on another software so I did then the unit started smoking and bop dj washed there hands because it went one day over the 30 days event tho I complained since day one there is an issue... Now pioneer sent me a label 4 weeks ago and the service centre claimed they got delivered to the wrong address and no matter him many emails I send I do not get a response I have tried Facebook, WhatsApp which none of these work I call every day at least 20-30 times a day and I can not get through to them leaving me here with nothing after spending alot of money on the flx-10 package. This Company is a joke and to say this device could of set my house on fire if I wasn't home you would of thought they would take this seriously but ovbusy not and now my only option is to take them to court... I have lost £1000 on a new laptop I have lost the money on the controller whilst I'm still paying finance I have lost money on bookings as I have to rent a controller at £100 a night and it's caused me so much stress that this is the company everyone seams to use and I can't understand why. I'm shocked at this service and there is no f**cks given at all. I now have to take on both company's as bop dj has gone against the rule of exchange according to citizen advice so my advice is do not go with pioneer and do not buy from bop dj if you want any respect or response because both just take the money and fob you off...

Non-Existent/Misleading/Worrying Non-Support

As mentioned in previous reviews, support at AlphaTheta/PioneerDJ/rekordbox is terrible. I would strongly advise anyone to re-consider investing in their products or/and using their software. I've been trying to get support to resolve a simple problem (activating a new laptop to unlock features on the free plan) and have been met with the equivalent of a stone wall. They've asked me for information - full system reports - and advised me to alter settings on my machine which have nothing to do with the problem, leaving me extremely suspicious and concerned for my security online, with no explanations - even when asked for specifically, and a refusal to answer the simple question 'How do I activate a new device?'. They simply refuse to address the question. My trust in this group has been completely destroyed, and I will never again invest in them.
Even when requesting discussions with management/supervisors (who knows how to get hold of them) there have been absolutely no satisfactory results so far. For a company considered the industry standard, I feel disgusted, frustrated and infuriated beyond belief, ruining what should be a happy creative pursuit. I've saved and documented all communications and efforts and I'm currently trying to source legal assistance for a small claims claim. While their hardware is generally of decent quality and affordable, in my experience, if something goes awry, you're helpless and alone. I've now been locked out of the forums on the website, and told I am an 'unauthorised user', even though I have an active device and a registered hardware product with them, and have posted there recently asking the same questions (with no responses). I've never known such poor customer service.

If you’re thinking about buying Pioneer…

If you’re thinking about buying Pioneer DJ gear, be warned: Rekordbox support is a nightmare.

I spent thousands of dollars on brand-new Pioneer decks, only to find myself completely locked out because of a subscription issue. I tried to upgrade my plan to fix it, but guess what? The subscription system is “under maintenance” and won’t let me change plans.

I reached out to Pioneer DJ support, and they just closed every single request without responding. No explanation, no help—just ignored. The only way to get support is through these tickets, and they refuse to engage. Their phone number? Useless—they just tell you to submit a request online, which they then ignore.

If you’re considering investing in Pioneer’s ecosystem, just know that if anything goes wrong with Rekordbox, you’re on your own. No real support, no answers, just frustration.

I regret switching to Pioneer, and I hope this saves someone else from the same experience. If you rely on Rekordbox, think twice.

Do NOT buy from Pioneer DJ Store Ever

I’m very disappointed in Pioneer DJ and FedEx in the way they carried themselves in my missing package claim. I bought a Pioneer XDJ-RR on August 7th, and the delivery was supposed to happen on September 9th, which required signature. However, I received a notification from FedEx that my package was delivered when it wasn’t and I never signed anything. Pioneer sent me proof of delivery of a signature that was not mine and FedEx does not have photo of the delivery. I tried to work with both parties to resolve this issue and they simply ghosted me and stopped responding. I went through the bank and after weeks and weeks of waiting for a dispute resolution, it was resolved in favor of Pioneer DJ Store. Now, I’m here without my equipment that I paid and no one seems to care about the money I spent to get this product. I’m never going to buy anything directly from Pioneer DJ Store and I hope never to have to use FedEx for anything.

They are not worthy of that name... Names Shamed, are: "YOSHINORI KATAOKA, RYUKICHI IWAKIRI, RYOSUKE YOKOBARI, DAI NAKAMURA, I haven't listed the other workers in the Subsidury of Pioneer but there are no DJ's yes a few creative minds but greedy and they are just "Committee Members"....not coming to your partys ever again!! Pioneer shame on you for your greedy and total lack of respect for your customers.

This is not the same Pioneer DJ we used…

This is not the same Pioneer DJ we used to once know and love. The brand has fallen apart since being taken over by AlphaTheta. The customer support on products now is honestly shocking. Taking months on end to respond to issues and emails. Constant excuses and a complete lack of customer care.

Im a professional DJ and have been DJiin for over 20 years. I have used Pioneer products since 2001 and never had any issues until I purchased the XDJ XZ in 2022. Ive had Two Faulty units straight out the box, which has taken over 18 months to sort out and is still on going.

Sadly there are no alternatives for us DJs so you have to be extremely cautious now when purchasing Pioneer DJ products. Buy with caution.

Clueless customer service

9 weeks after placing order and paying £12000 and still not received, the communication from pioneer is either non existent or very people they should be ashamed to call customer service agents. Not only that, but after 9 weeks of them telling me that the product is still a current product, with one even telling me it can take over 8 months to fulfil, I then get told that it’s actually discontinued and I could either get a refund or fork out a further £270 for their new model.

Absolute cowboys

Pioneer CDJ 3000

I recently purchased the Pioneer CDJ 3000 and have been blown away by its performance and features. The touch screen is large and responsive, making it easy to navigate and control music playback. The loading times are lightning fast, and the sound quality is exceptional. The built-in EQ and filter, as well as hot cues, loops, and beat jump, provide a range of creative options for DJs.

One of the standout features of the CDJ 3000 is its seamless integration with Pioneer's rekordbox software. This allows for easy organization and preparation of music, as well as the ability to sync tracks and playlists between the CDJ and the software. The CDJ 3000 also has a range of connectivity options, including USB, SD card, and LAN.

Overall, I highly recommend the Pioneer CDJ 3000 to any professional DJ looking for a high-end multimedia player that delivers exceptional performance, quality, and features. It's a must-have for anyone serious about their craft and wanting to take their performances to the next level.
