Full of AI slop. What's the point of that?? Stock banks like this should be where people can go to know they're getting real images, footage and illustrations, any selfish, lazy pants-smear can have... See more
While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Just a bad experience!
Just a bad experience, they steel pictures from photographers, at least from me and I'm not the only one they hurt.
The clue is in the 5 stars — but — there are a couple of things I feel the need to add.
The clue to my review is in the 5 stars — but — there are a number of things I wanted to add. I have read a number of gripes about Pixabay on other review sites, some of them quite cranky, and so I feel the need to share my thoughts in more detail. Most of the gripes seem to emanate from the fact that photographers who've grown disillusioned with the site, for whatever reason, are irked to learn they have no way of removing their photos, even when they close their account. That's what public domain means, though — once it's out there, it's out there. For everyone. I myself Pixabay my "B-roll," never images that are outstanding enough that I might sell one day. My B-roll is quite good, though, and the people who run the site seem to appreciate that. I get rejections, but I get images accepted about 60%-70% of the time. I've been with Pixabay little more than a year. I have 3 Editor's Choices, which frankly I'm thrilled about. I use a lot of other people's Pixabay images for my blog (alexstrachan.net / Journal) and my policy is, every time I use an image, I give an image. Take a penny, leave a penny. Here's what I really like about Pixabay, though: They apply human judgment — they sign off on the images themselves, and don't leave it to AI machine-learning, which is ubiquitous in our daily lives, and not fit for purpose in most cases. Pixabay is based in Germany, and they seem to have a very European/international feel and taste, which I appreciate, being based myself in North America. Because they reject a fair bit, and because they have strict rules about not swamping them with bland (or worse) images, the quality is quite high. I've seen images on Pixabay — from other people — that are award-worthy IMO. Yes, there's no money in it. I doubt anyone "buys a coffee," even, though I've done it for other photogs. on one or two occasions. On balance, though, I have nothing but good things to say about them. I've been rejected by stock agencies in the past, so part of me is delighted that I have a way of getting my images out there, and taking business away from the stock agencies at the same time. I hope Pixabay is around for a long time. As far as I'm concerned, they've earned the right.
The fact that they are free says…
The fact that they are free says enough. I appreciate them for that.
