Blocked without a reason! Racial Profiling!

I just signed up 2 days ago, paid for a monthly subscription. I downloaded 2 mockup images. Things were working as expected. The next day, when I tried to log back in it says my account got disabled. I have no idea what went wrong!

I reached out to the customer support, they replied back after few hours only to tell me they have forwarded the request to someone else. The next person replied after few hours and told me that that have refunded my payment. Thay didn't gave me any reason why my account got disabled in the first place.

At this point, I'm extremely disgusted at the fact that they disabled my account without showing a proper reason.

Since they are not showing any valid reason I'll have to assume that this is just an incident of RACIAL PROFILING by an individual on their end who thought "Wow! Someone from Bangladesh just signed up! Let's block em and show em who is superior"

This is a very bad example of customer handling, specially someone who pays!

Update:
Here's the list of suspicious things that have happened.

1. I was born in Bangladesh
2. I purchased a subscription for Placeit
3. I made 2 mockup images
4. I got blocked!

Obviously! Very suspicious! Thanks for the clarification.

Of all the premium tools I have used, this is the most disgusting one.

AVOID THIS AT ALL COST!

Pretty good site!

I started placeit for video mockups for my etsy store. I subscribed for 1 month but when making mass amounts of video mockups it takes 1 hour to do at least 9. Also they dont have a huge range of wall art mockups for videos. If Im going to make wall art portraits for each room in a house I could only do the living room so would be great to have kids bedroom wall frame mockups along with the kitchen, bathroom, and office. Other than that I have had a decent experience with placeit. I wouldn't say this site is a scam like everyone is viciously saying. It just needs a lot of work to make it a breeze for customers to use and alot more options. Thanks for working hard to bring us a great site to use.

I recently heard of Placeit on youtube…

I recently heard of Placeit on youtube and as new content creator, I thought Placeit would be a good website to use to create intro for my channel.
So I chose the monthly plan so I could test Placeit and see if I liked it. The next day I found that I was charged for the annual subscription instead of the monthly subscription I purchased. So I contacted support about this issue and they responded. Soon as I explained what happened and my need for a refund I got no response.
I thought from the reviews on YouTube that Placeit was a reputable company, but I've been deceived.
This company is FRAUD! STAY AWAY!!

Account disabled for using it

Found a good price for Placeit so signed up for a full year. I used the service for One DAY and my account was disabled: "We understand that this news must be frustrating and that having some clarity on the account closure may offer some ease; however, we are not in a position to divulge our internal processes."

Do NOT use Placeit if you actually intend on creating more than a small batch of mockup items. They WILL disable your account for no reason

Poor customer support experience, they do not delete my credit card information

Update: my request finally resolved on May, 10th. Thank you. Two stars for the customers support service, except Customer Success Supervisor, the only person who was able to help me after my feedback here.

My previous review was deleted, so I am reposting it. I provided my email address after the review but nobody has contacted me yet. It's been about 20 days since my first request, and my issue is still unresolved. Despite being assured by their client support that everything was okay and that I "just have to wait for a couple of days". The service turned out to be even worse than I expected. As a result, I have no intention of using their site again.

After three attempts to resolve my issue through PlaceIt customer support, I am compelled to leave a negative review here.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Envato's customer support and their PlaceIt service. I requested to have my credit card removed from my account, and initially, I was assured by one of their customer success specialists, that it was done. However, to my disappointment, my credit card information was still visible on the website. I then contacted another customer support representative informed me that the only way to remove my credit card was to delete my entire account, and provided me with an email address for further assistance. But when I reached out to that email address, I was redirected back to PlaceIt support, as they have separate support systems within the Envato Family.

I found it frustrating that both of my issues remained unresolved despite seeking assistance from customer support multiple times. I requested a refund of my money if possible, as I had not use any services other than customer support, which was not successful in resolving my issues. The response I received from PlaceIt's customer support acknowledged that my credit card information had been deleted, but attributed the issue to the information not getting automatically updated on my side, even though I had cleared my cookies and cache multiple times from different browsers.

It has been five days since my initial request, and my credit card information is still visible on my account. Despite their attempt to rectify the situation, I am disappointed with the lack of resolution and the inconvenience this has caused me. I appreciate their offer to provide guidance on how to use the site, but at this point, I am left with no option other than to proceed with closing my account and request a refund if possible.

In conclusion, my experience with Envato and PlaceIt has been frustrating and disappointing. The inability to remove my credit card information from my account despite assurances from customer support, and the redirection between different support systems within the Envato Family, has been inconvenient and unsatisfactory. I hope that Envato takes steps to improve their customer support and account management processes to prevent similar issues for other users in the future.

I will share my e-mail again if needed, my ticket number is 419928. I would like to delete my account completely please, even if my subscription is not over, and I do not need any refund

Frustrating

I paid for the yearly subscription and couldn't download any file as they were asking for another payment. I contacted them and they answered they cancelled my subscription but they can't tell the reason. Fortunately, they gave my money back. I've lost so much time on this. Do not recommend!!

I've had a paid monthly membership at…

I've had a paid monthly membership at PLACEIT since 2020. I use the site to create covers for my podcast. They recently added a feature where I can crop/scale the image to exact dimensions. I can't tell you how incredibly helpful that is. I wish they also had a tool to reduce the file size. I've been happy with the platform, but do hope they add more video templates. I find myself using other sites due for video templates.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this company...My recommendation is avoid it like the plague...

Yes they have good products but they are dishonest and untrustworthy company ..

There customer service is without care ...

This is what happened to me ..

I signed up and subscribed for one month with a view to purchase a one year subscription..

In the meantime I purchaseda one month subscription...

So one hour later I signed out then signed back in but found I could not sign in .

I tried every browser and device I had thinking it was my end ..

I filled out the sign in details and tried to no avail the captcha but it led me around and around in circles with messages pointing to a captcha error ..

5 hours later after sitting up all night I contacted them only for them to tell me that my account had been disabled ..

With no explanation they totally shunned me even though I payed for a subscription..

No reason to why they banned me.

Within one hour of signing up and paying for a subscription they banned me leaving me bewildered and confused ..

I've decided to write this review because these companies think they can get away with everything because they don't need us as much as they did when they were building up there clients when they began..

I desperately needed a company like this to make my business easier for me but working with a company like this that neither cares for its customers or gives a crap about who they mess about with is just disgusting..

They discriminate for whatever reason is beyond me ..

I have business friends that use this company that tell me they are looking at alternatives ..Maybe they have issues with this company too..

As I said avoid this company like the plague as they are not trustworthy and can close down your account ruining your business..

Paid subscription, 2 days later account disabled for no reason

Paid for a subscription and 2 days later had my account disabled, WORST customer support experience ever...
So...I opened an account with Placeit and decided to pay for the full subscription and start downloading mockups, but a couple of days after paying for it my account gets disabled. I reach out to support and he tells me they are not obliged to tell me "why" after insisting and asking for a supervisor (mind you I'm overseas and can only communicate via email caz I don't want to pay for calls to Australia to speak to their HQ Envato) So finally I get an email from the supervisor and apparently the system automatically disabled my account because the first time I tried to pay it didn't go through and I explained that I paid through PayPal and the first attempt didn't work caz the page got stuck so I refreshed and tried again and it went through. So I asked her if I can have my account activated caz I have weeks worth of work there and it's been 5 days and no reply even though I have reminded them a couple of times.
So I was forced to open another account and PAY again and start all over with my work and mockups.

Update (07Apr23): they’ve replied saying “suspicious behavior” when in fact that’s false. In fact, just today I got an email saying they will activate my account again and I can go ahead and pay for the subscription again by logging in. The nerve!

Scam They Won't Let Me Save My Own Images Now after Paying For Monthly Service

I was testing the free demo service everything was fine, the watermark was to be expected on mock ups. I decided to go for the monthly service rather than yearly which they are pushing heavily. They took $18 from my Paypal instead of the advertised $14.95 and then the icing on the cake is the service will not save any of my image uploads keeps saying try again and then sneakily trying to force me onto yearly membership. Bad marketing scam I want a full refund, I wish I read the reviews here first!

I keep getting charged while I have no active subscription

For almost a year now, I keep getting charged $15.1
every month!
when I go to my account there's no subscription for me to cancel, I reached out by email and they say there's no active subscription, yet they keep charging me every month!!!

SCAM DO NOT PURCHASE A SERVICE HERE

I wanted to download one file from this website so I opted for the cheaper monthly payment rather than the one-time payment. turns out the "monthly payment" was actually a yearly subscription which was not noted at any time. I sent emails to resolve this issue and I have gotten nothing. I will pay for my one time download but I am not paying for a years worth when I am not using it!

No one can work with only 10 recent images

Let's agree that no one can work with only 10 recent images and having to upload images that were already uploaded and placeit overwrote them, must be in high demand because no professional or amateur can work like that. It is not a secondary function, it is something ELEMENTARY and ESSENTIAL to create the compositions. I don't understand how you tell me that it will depend on the demand... for something that is essential... it's like saying... we make cars without a steering wheel and if they ask us, we do it "rightly" with a steering wheel...
In 1.5 years approx. I see that they have not solved something fundamental in the script... It is very frustrating. believe me.

I think at least 40 to 50+ it would be much more effective

Low Res Images/Limited model choices

Their mockup pictures aren't high enough resolution for Etsy, even though Printify suggests using Placeit for mockups. You can still use them however, but you'll get a message saying the image isn't high enough resolution. Which is strange, because Placeit and Printify are both meant for use with Etsy. Secondly the model choice is abismal. If you're marketing to urban progressives who mainly are of color and/or alt lifestyles, you'll be fine. Go someplace else if you're looking to market to European Caucasians and who don't look so progressive/alternative. Will let me subscription run out at the end of the month.
