Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the service, describing it as "flakey and clumsy," and frequently failing to work as claimed, leading to various issues with transactions and account management. Customers also encountered significant problems with the user experience, finding it difficult to connect accounts, with the system often refusing to complete processes or breaking links, forcing repeated reconnections. The website and login service were frequently criticized for not working, denying verification, or incorrectly stating credentials were wrong. A significant number of consumers were also not happy with the customer service, reporting that it is difficult to speak with a human agent, with support often being handled by unhelpful bots. This lack of human support leaves users unable to resolve issues, especially when facing problems with payments or account verification. Some people also felt that the company does not care about the consumer, focusing instead on large institutions.

This is eerie

This is eerie. Forced to use this through another app. I'm nearly sixty, bank with one of the ten largest banks in US, Used my password and username - successful. They told me how much money I had in the bank, asked me for account and routing numbers, and then, oh PNC isnt' a full participant. So, you could have told me earlier. Now you have all my information, and legally you obtained the information by trickerie. i pwefoemws my end of he agreement; plaid and extra refused.

Why force people to give personal, financial information in promise of a benefit while knowing that there is no benefit. If you don't work with pnc, then collecting usernames and passwords for their accounts, and asking for routing and account numbers after the passwords and user names check out. I would be sleeping easier, if I hadn't been gaslighted It really is criminal. Hopefully one of the principles donating to the incorrect party so they'll go after uoi

I've never EVER had a theft attempt on any of my bank accounts.
Never until the day after I used plaid.
Then I'm getting emails from my bank that the attempt to change my password or get access to my password hint has been denied and my account locked.
Possible coincidence? Sure, but I don't believe in coincidence.

Absolute trash

Absolute trash. Avoid at all cost. Every time I’ve been forced to use them to make a payment I get locked out of my bank account months later because they repeat try to login on their own when there is no reason for them to be logging in.

Horrible

Horrible. I have to pay my rent and it’s saying I have to go through a micro transaction verification. That won’t come through for another 2 days they said so now I can’t pay rent even though I provided them with everything account number, name, DOB, and address. It’s horrible design idk why companies don’t use their own direct deposit methods

Worst App Ever

If I could give no stars I would. This system does not look at your actual income. I couldn't even get a $50 loan because it does not reflect my actual income even through it is connect to my bank with my direct deposit. All the online loans apps use it and it is garbage. I won't recommend it to anyone. A two year old can create a better app.

I set up an Etsy store online and…

I set up an Etsy store online and within 24 hours was contacted thru Etsy messages that I needed to verify my account. The next morning there was a charge on my credit card that I didn’t make and it was for EtsyUK. My bank caught it as fraud and closed that card. So I will get a new credit card and have to go change all my accounts that have automatic bill pay to the new number. I also closed my Etsy account. It’s not worth risking what hackers can do to sell on Etsy since you have to use Plaid. I will not ever use Plaid.

Doesn't work with Wells Fargo

Doesn't work with Wells Fargo. It shows how bad the state of financial verification is. I don't know why businesses (like AirBNB) would use this useless, frustrating service. They are losing customers this way. And it's not the user fault, I can tell you that.

This is a horrible service

This is a horrible service. It does not work, flat out, does not work. 2 banks, 1 says no accounts exist, the other it doesn't recognize the routing account number pulled straight from the my checks and bank site.

I wish we weren’t forced to use this.

I wish we weren’t forced to use this. Idky all these apps are deciding to have people connect to their banks through plaid. If im not mistaken, I started to notice it by 2019/20. There was legit a time where you were able to connect your bank manually with certain things, and they verified your account by doing a little cent check. Now these apps have made it mandatory you’re connecting through plaid, I don’t want to use them!!! My cu clearly doesn’t trust them, &/are very firm on their member’s security. Plaid was at a time only using mega banks to connect with, then just recently (i presume) they’ve updated for more banks and credit unions because I’ve finally been able to connect my CU after at least 3yrs of not being able to. HOWEVER, my cu made changes and decided to disconnect from plaid again, and honestly i have no problem with that, I’m not happy about being forced to using plaid anyway. These investment apps and etc need to go back to letting you connect your banking info manually. I haven’t had issues when I was able to do that. They don’t even allow any other options other than connecting through plaid and it’s very frustrating.

NEVER USE THIS SCAM APP

If any online banks are using this service, please stop using because they are scammers. Once i tried to go through verification process with a reputable bank, they accessed my bank with credentials and tried to empty my bank account. This is the biggest scam and FRAUD! If you see this name PLAID while setting up your online banking, RUN!!!!!!!!!!

Scammers…

The company literally pulls you through all of the steps warning you the information they give to the other financial institutions can be used for whatever reason they want to and they are not responsible… After you hit submit. They will share that information then access deny you. WTH.

Spam ppoup and useless service

This company is really getting on my nerves and I've never spoken to anybody. I've been attepting to use them, since it's required for fiannacial verification. Their system keeps telling me I'm inputing the wrong information, despite me knowing full well, it's correct. The institutions that use this company keep up with the "problem is on your end, not ours attitude". There's no way to clear your information. I was just on their website and it's nothing but screen refresh and pop-ups, stopping you from what you're trying to do. This is utter nonsense and garbage
