This company is a scam!!

This company is a scam!!! I sent in my 2000 dollar deposit 6 months ago and still no card!!!
They keep telling me it's supplier problems for cards it's a big lie
Please be warned they are scamming people out of money who have bad credit and need help the most

If I could rate them a ZERO I would!!

If I could rate them a ZERO I would!!! I sent in a deposit, had horrible customer service, no one could help me and you cant reach a person by phone!! You can only email or chat!! They told me it would take 90 days to process my refund, it has been over 90 days and still no refund. I have tried to contact them but no reply!! THIS BUSINESS IS SHADY! DO NOT USE THEM!! THEY ARE A SCAM!! I will be reaching out to BBB to see if there is anything they can do to help me.

BE WARNED!

I wish I had read these reviews before I applied. Been waiting since January to receive my card. I've contacted them several times and they keep blaming the delay on the company that prints their cards. I should have dealt with a reliable company, which this one is not. Asked for a refund and was told 60 days even though I haven't even received a card! Absolute scam that they will have use of my funds for a total of four months without my even receiving a card! I'm doubting if I ever will get my money back anyway!

I cancelled my application in November…

I cancelled my application in November 2022 had to wait the 60 days as per their policy
Now have been emailing requesting my reibmursement and keep on getring same

We are extremely sorry for the delay. There's a backlog of refunds which has caused a delay in getting the funds issued rest assured we are following up on this to make sure it gets completed in a timely manner.
We really appreciate your patience in this matter.
Its funny how they are fast n easy to take money out of bank account but the. Have same mesage for saying how difficult it is to return it

I was looking at getting a secured…

I was looking at getting a secured credit card. I looked at Plastk and decided to dig deeper. I am sure glad I did. Their BBB rating is an F. They currently have over 151 complaints filed against them. I think Plastk is facing financial issues. I am not applying for this card.

I did research when I first signed up back in I think 2019. Seemed all good and safe. I along with other people who have also seem to have the same experience they WILL NOT give me my $400 back. The fees are incredibly high for the terrible service they offer. I got this card to help my credit and it didn’t reflect on my credit score at all. I canceled my card at the end of November and had the 60 day waiting period for who knows what. Now trying to get an answer from someone about when the money will come back from them is IMPOSSIBLE. Always that the person has been following up. No you haven’t. Just bold face lies. Also, all the replies from the business. If you ACTUALLY cared about your customers/ customer service you would not be holding onto people’s money! Returning it quickly and giving your customers good service. People might recommend you and then you wouldn’t have to keep making nonsense replies to complaints. I don’t care how busy you are. You can give people their money back.

Just a heads up with secured funds with…

Just a heads up with secured funds with Plastk. I secured my funds and used this card for about a yr and then no longer required a secured card. I closed my account and they told me it would take 60 days and i would get my secured funds back. I am now going on over 6 months now and i have been told for the last 4 that there bank is extrememly busy and thats why it's taking so longer BUT they still continue to charge me interest on a account thats closed. So whatever you put as secured funds, just keep in mind you won't be getting it back! Also Submitted a complaint with the BBB, and they tried contacting them and Plastk wouldn't return there requests. You Are Better off going with someone else unless you don't mind losing the secured funds after you close the account. Good Luck !

I have contacted plastk many times over the last few months and you guys keep giving me the runaround with excuses. So your reply to my complaint means nothing. You guys keep stalling on issuing back my remaining deposit while you still continue to drain whats left of my security funds with monthly charges. Action speaks louder than words Plastk!

UPDATE: April 6/2023 and still no deposit returned yet. 6 months so far. Don’t give any money to Plastk as you will never see it again if you cancel.

Fraud alert. Do not give them a penny.

Echoing many other complaints here and on the BBB, this company refuses to refund my $500 security deposit. I cancelled my account by email on July 26, 2022, and received confirmation of this request. At that time I was informed there would be a "60-day settling period... required to allow for any interest and/or other pending charges or fees to settle prior to the return of any remaining security funds". The 60-day period would have ended Sept 24th, 2022, which was 151 days ago - almost 5 months - and I still have yet to receive back my security deposit.

On January 6th, 2023 I emailed Plastk inquiring about the status of the refund, and was informed that they have "re-escalated your concern with the backend team". I followed-up again on January 10th, and was provided a different reason for the refund delay; "due to the errors we're facing with our banking platform, there's a backlog at the moment affecting the timelines". When I asked about an ETA I was told "We have already requested an update from them. We will update you via email once we have an update." No updates have ever been provided.

Finally, after one more follow-up on Jan 17th I was told "your refund request is already in our top priority queue list". I'm unsure what this means, however given that they are unable to provide me with further info this is further proof that something is extremely amiss with this company.

Any reputable/credible business would have informed customers by newsletter or memo at the first sign of financial issues which would affect them. Plastk failed to do so, and given the history of their ownership one shouldn't be surprised.

Their "customer service" continue to operate in respond/react-only fashion. The lack of communication - apart from vague responses - from this company should raise red flags to anyone tasked with oversight, or considering using their services.
I filed a complaint with the BBB back in January, however after multiple attempts to reach the business, they've now closed my file without a response. My next steps are with the FCAC... but I'm not holding out hopes of ever seeing the $500 that Plastk stole from me.

They are only in the business of stealing. If you enjoy your own money, do not do business with them.

Wish I could give less of a star

Wish I could give less of a star. For the duration of my card use it was okay a lot of delays in funds being returned or unresolved. I closed out my card tried to get my deposit back was told Jan 28th I’d get it. Now we’re Feb 17th still nothing. They keep saying it’s on priority to be sent but it most definitely is not. They have no problem taking your money but won’t give it back

Company of LIES & THIEVES

Where do I even start with this company of lies! Like everyone else they took my money, never sent the card and have endless excuses why I need to be patient that they robbed me. Well now their final act is here people and they are RUNNING! No emails work for them anymore, even the new email that keeps sending me advertisements. Isn’t an active email to respond to? I have contacted the police, BBB and a lawyer. The BBB has done nothing, since they can no longer get in contact with the company. They were no help, not sure why they exist.

The founder of this company Motola has multiple fraudulent companies with the same theme of taking peoples money and running. (Threadz auto, drive now Canada, lotus energy)

It’s time to put an end to this foolishness, if you have any info on a class action lawsuit please contact me 416-844-0652 as I’d like to join that in addition to my personal suit against them. Im looking into getting a P.I to find Motola as well so if he sees this, keep playing with my money and I’m gonna play with you! You think this is a joke? We’ll see who gets the last laugh.

You aren’t running then why can’t anyone contact you, why aren’t you answering the BBB AND WHERE IS MY MONEY!!! You have some nerve giving that response, NO SHAME!

I have spoken to other people who you promised a refund in June of 2022 and they are still waiting!!! YOU ARE ALL LIES AND YOU WILL BE STOPPED!

Definitely a SCAM

They are most definitely a scam, potentially a ponzi scheme. The bank that provides their cards, Digital Commerce Bank, is also questionable. Complaints should be filed with RCMP Anti Fraud Investigations at 1-888-495-8501, as well as the Financial Consumer Agencies Canada at 1-866-461-3222. This one is particularly important if you've had correspondence with Digital Commerce Bank as they are federally regulated. The more people that come forward and file a complaint or open an investigation, the better. You should also file a report with your local police department.

Scam!!

Scam!!! Take your money. Now they're literally holding it hostage being given the run around. Don't send them a dime you'll never get it back

There replies are also a scam. They'll use the same scripted response. Chat with them online it's a script. They ignore certain key words. The minute you mention "I see reviews that claim its a scam" they end the chat or ignore you. Please for the love of God people do not give them a dime

This company is running a scam and a…

This company is running a scam and a fraud. Everyone please check your statements as they charge you inaccurate interest and instead of charging you the interest rate per annum I have seem them charge the per annum amount in interest in a single month. Upon asking questions they suspended my account and added took my access away from my statements and card. My $10000 deposit has been held for over 1 year and just today they reported falsely to the credit bureau about me missing payments. I will be taking then to court since they have stolen my money and are now causing damage to my credit score and financial well being. Dont forget to check your statements for the made up and inflanted interest charges. Read reviews on other websites and BBB before doing any business with them and close your account ASAP in case you have already made the mistake of getting their card. The owner Motola Omobamiduro is a serious fraudster and scammer. I will also be approaching new media about everything as I have a mountain of evidence.

STOLEN MONEY

STOLEN MONEY - cancelled card due to fraudulent charges they can't seem to trace or find or provide a refund. Requested a refund, took over 27 days to get a form out of them, then they said it was too late to file. Still haven't seen my funds back since cancelling the card - they owe me money and dragging their feet.
If I could give them a zero rating I would.

FRAUDULENT company

DO NOT use this company! FRAUDULENT! After months waiting for my refund from my account closure, they are still “stalling”. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Plastk never responded to the BBB’s request for reply. After never having received an actual card I closed the account and still have not received my refund of $2300. I have sent multiple emails over months, and received the same responses and replies every time … there’s a backlog of refunds at the moment, or “your refund request is at the top of the priority queue”, “please be patient it will be issued soon”, repeatedly from different CSR’s. I have followed their rules outlined in the contract…and they have not! After the 60 day waiting period refunds are to be issued the same way they were deposited. This business should be investigated after reading all of the exact same negative reviews online on several websites. All regarding refund issues! Clearly no one ever gets their money back.

They stole 1000$ as a security deposit

They took 1000$ as a security deposit, and have refused to provide a card.
6 months no card.
Asked for refund, no refund.
Always an excuse.
I do not understand why superintendents of financial i stations have not shut them down!!!They have stole 1000$ from me, stolen. They are thieves and crooks.

Shadiest company in Canada

I recently in the not too distant past had to look for ways to rebuild my credit. Credit Karma suggested I try Plastk Financial and their secured card. I signed up and was accepted. After a few weeks it seemed they were contacting me an awful lot saying I was delinquent. I had been transferring to their account and knew this wasn't so. I went online and read a whole tonne of reviews and every single one was scathing. I called them (and since I have been a member I have only been able to get through to them twice - in fact their current number goes to a completely different business.) and told them to cancel my card. They told me I owed 60 dollars and then we would be square. They also told me cancelling my card would negatively affect my credit and that cancelling the card would take two months. I asked again: So if I pay 60 dollars we'll be square, my card will be cancelled? They promised it would happen. I kept getting emails saying I was delinquent with payments but I ignored them. I tried logging into my cardholder portal to see where my account was at but it just took me to a promotions page. I got a really nasty letter after two months saying I was seriously delinquent. They have changed the required method of payment about three times. They have you over a barrel and it is extortion. You have to pay or they threaten to wreck your credit. So again I called and got through. You owe us sixty more dollars and we will cancel your card. It will take another two months. After having been burned once I was unsure. I made a payment of twenty dollars the other day, etransfer, and didn't even receive confirmation of payment. Cardholder Portal doesn't work, telephone calls to the number they provide go to some other business. I know for a fact they forge the banking details. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Get the word out. I have written to consumer affairs and also Credit Karma. Do your part - spread the word.

Scam card! Won’t return money!

They also have returned my money (the deposit) in months!!!! It was supposed to be returned on December 1, 2022 (that’s after their 2 month hold policy) and now it’s the end of January and I have received anything! I email and call them almost everyday! Same answer: they don’t know when they will be able to send MY money back! We need to start a class action suit!
