Bad and untested audio equipment with…
Bad and untested audio equipment with lots of issues and bugs. The app is also really bad. Nothing good to say, I guess you get what you pay for.
Also, their so-called customer service ignores you out of nowhere, and in general in no way is interested to figure out what is wrong with their products, or to help customers who own their products.
With the new hub, speakers randomly do not wake up / connect to the hub after the hub and speakers go on standby overnight, the remote control randomly loses connection to hub during use and behaves erratically, unlike my Stereo Hub experience, which used the same type of remote control. Occassionally, when adjusting the sound on my TV remote control, the Hub will change inputs from eARC to Stream/WiFi instead of adjusting the volume. Adjusting Spotify volume up/down from my phone will mute the sound instead, illuminating the "mute" LED on the Platin remote.
I owned the previous Platin Stereo Hub, which worked "fine", but I wanted the ethernet port of the Surround Hub X to ensure more stable Spotify playback. Also, bluetooth for some reason enables itself randomly?
To me, the Surround Hub X is a massive downgrade. I also contacted Platin directly, and they did seem completely disinterested in figuring out the issue with their product.
So far I have it down to the following theories: Obvious software issues with volume control and CEC, standby issue, or hardware issue. Perhaps a specific config issue, like a setting that I should disable?

Stay away from this company. Their products are among the worst I have used with my wireless high-end WiSA speakers from Buchardt Audio. I so far owned three different products from Platin Audio. The first had fundamental issues with no audio coming through HDMI eARC. I then purchased their newer iteration through a German retailer, and that one also had fundamental issues with losing connection to my speakers, not playing audio although there was a connection, not working with Spotify properly, etc. etc. The list of is endless of this alleged audio product, which does not play audio half the time. My second product was replaced as defective under warranty only after I spent nearly a month complaining about the product not playing audio as well as many other fundamental issues. Afterwards, Platin Audio's German reseller threatened me on multiple occasions. When I confronted Platin Audio with this behavior, they decided to do nothing at all. Not even a single response. After these threats I decided simply to keep the last product, although it also does not work optimally with HDMI CEC, Spotify, and requires restarting the equipment with regular intervals. This makes sense: Platin Audio "manufactures" extremely unreliable products with no product ownership. I say "manufacture", because it is in reality a Chinese product in another packaging from Hansong Technologies Group, a company with no information on their website at all, no way to contact them, and a Chinese address. On top of that, Platin Audio's customer service and product support is non-existent if there are issues with their products — and I have experienced nothing but issues and buggy software and hardware behavior.
