Playmetrics has a privacy page that does not allow for revoking of information being sold to third parties...

Playmetrics has a privacy page and the reported possibility of revoking marketing and third party collection of your data, but apparently they do not honor it. I requested that my information not be sent to third parties and instead, they deleted my account:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your request to opt out of the collection, use, and disclosure of your and your family’s personal information, including the categories and disclosures described in your message.

Your request has been reviewed in accordance with applicable privacy laws. While individuals may withdraw consent in certain circumstances, applicable law also permits organizations to continue collecting, using, and disclosing personal information where such processing is necessary to provide a service and for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

In this case, the information you referenced is required to operate and support the platform and related services provided to your organization, including account administration, service functionality, support, security, and operational processing. As a result, we are unable to stop the collection, use, or disclosure of the personal information you identified while continuing to provide access to the service.  You, of course, may elect to cease use of our Platform at your discretion.

If you have questions about the specific purposes for which we collect, use, or disclose personal information, please contact us at {in their privacy link}, and we will assist. Additional information about our privacy practices is available in our Privacy Notice at {their home page}

Thank you,

Submitting Requests

You may exercise the rights described above through our online portal or by contacting us as indicated in the “Contact Information” section below. If you disagree with our denial of a request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us with the subject line “Appeal.”
-------------------

the official policy seems to be:
"You're allowed to revoke consent, but you are also not allowed."

I'm going to guess here that the collection and sale of your private information, above and beyond communicating with your club generates more money for Playmetrics who are owned by:Genstar Capital, a U.S. private equity firm.**

-----------------
This is my appeal:
-----------------

I am writing to formally appeal the decision to terminate my account following my request.

To clarify, I am not refusing all processing of personal information. I acknowledge that certain information must be collected and used where it is strictly necessary to provide core platform services to my organization (BFC), including registration, roster management, and communication.

However, I explicitly object to and withdraw consent for any collection, use, or disclosure of personal information that is not essential to the direct provision of those services.

Withdrawal of Consent (Non-Essential Uses)

I do not consent to:

Sharing with third parties beyond those strictly required to operate the platform and support my club (BFC)
Disclosure to:
Data brokers
Advertising networks
Joint marketing partners
Cross-context behavioral advertising or profiling
Use of personal, financial, or health-related data beyond what is reasonably required for participation and safety

Broad or undefined sharing with “affiliates,” “partners,” or “organizations” where necessity is not clearly demonstrated

Requests for Clarification and Accommodation

I am requesting:

Confirmation that my data will be limited to what is strictly necessary for service delivery to my organization (xxx)

A detailed explanation of:
Which third parties receive my information
The specific purpose for each disclosure
The ability to opt out of any non-essential data sharing without losing access to core services
Clarification as to why less intrusive alternatives cannot be offered
Position Going Forward

If your position is that no such limitations can be accommodated, I request that you clearly identify:

Which specific data practices are essential versus optional

The legal basis for requiring consent to all listed categories as a condition of service
Escalation

I would prefer to resolve this matter directly. However, I reserve the right to escalate this issue to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of _________ if necessary.

Regards,
xxx

I think the disconnect of reviews is…

I think the disconnect of reviews is because the fee-paying club administrators like the app, and the powerless families that need the app for notifications and schedule can’t use the app that is down 23 hours per day. It’s a miserable app but families won’t leave a club over, I just have to survive not accessing the app most days. A few months ago it had a good week but fell apart again.

Use PlayMetrics as a coach and parent

Use PlayMetrics as a coach and parent. Love the automatic notifications from the app when there is a schedule change by the club. Would be great if this could be used for our kids tournaments as well.

Unreal platform for Soccer Clubs

As a DOC in NC this app provides me with everything I need in one platform. I couldn't imagine going back to a registration system where I always need to pull out my laptop to get everything done. Now, I can do everything from my phone. The frequent new releases are always a pleasant surprise, especially the tryout tools! Thanks to everyone at PlayMetrics who make my life easier!

PlayMetrics is Stealing from Families

I am really disappointed with PlayMetrics that I feel compelled to share. Our club recently transitioned to this company, and we are now realizing the scam of the company it is… They charge a percentage fee to all parents for everything. When I say “percentage” I mean percentage and not transaction fee. Therefor whether you pay your club fee or team fees as a lump sum or in payments they still take the same amount. When we take into consideration that some families have multiple children playing at our club these additional fees can run around $90 every month.

There was no clear explanation or transparency regarding the percentage fee, which feels misleading and unfair. Despite reaching out to the club for clarification, I received vague responses that did not justify the insane fees.

It's concerning that a company would take advantage of families in this way. I believe it's important for potential customers to be aware of these practices before doing business with PlayMetrics.

Reply from PlayMetrics

We take feedback from clubs and their members very seriously and appreciate your concerns. Clubs pay PlayMetrics’ fees, and some clubs choose to bundle payment processing fees in the total cost of a purchase, while others elect to list fees as individual line items. In both cases, the fees remain the same, and the presentation is solely determined by the Club. It is not uncommon for clubs to change how they present pricing to their members upon switching vendors. Our payment processing fees are competitive, and in many cases lower than other vendors in the space. If you need further assistance, please contact support@playmetrics.com and we would be happy to help!

PlayMetrics has been transformational…

PlayMetrics has been transformational in providing a software platform that is a one-stop shop for members, coaches, directors, administrators, and volunteers. Combining financials, registration, team & club communication, scheduling, Director oversight & management, seasonal planning (micro & macro periodization development), evaluations, etc. into one platform has been a massive improvement from the platforms of the past. Their customer support team is first class, and their software designers work with you to continue improving their services to best support your organization. I would highly recommend this platform to any club looking to continue their organization's professional development.

Would Recommend to Every Club!!!

The Administrative tools are life saving. Coming from using many different registration platforms, PlayMetrics is by far the most thoughtful and forward thinking software I have seen. The ease of registration for our members and their ability to have everything they need in the app has been life changing for not only the club but for our families.

Our club has LOVED PlayMetrics

Our club has LOVED PlayMetrics. From the family perspective, having a mobile friendly registration, communication and scheduling app that is all in one place provides a superior customer experience.

From the club end, the efficiencies gained by having all of our club systems combined into one program is well worth the cost. The ability to pull up practice activities (or club created curriculum), manage fields and communicate all from the mobile app is incredibly useful.

The onboarding process and support throughout has been top notch. I would highly recommend PlayMetrics!
