SCAM - DO NOT TRUST THIS VENDOR!!!!

Customer support is non-existent. I'm having trouble with a gift card link for Sony PlayStation that I bought to surprise someone, so I did not opt for the email version. Neither I nor the recipient can see any gift card code. We are being prompted for an email address, but I opted to send this via link rather than email, so that information was never provided. Tried to register a support ticket but I never get any email confirmation (like a ticket ID for reference). Live chat does not work at all.

Update: At this point, it is unclear whether Cashstar or Sony is ultimately responsible, but the result is the same: I have been passed back and forth between them with no resolution. I never received the 12-digit gift card code, nor did I receive my $50 refund.
The excuse given is that I placed the order from another country. I am from Romania and attempted to buy a PlayStation gift card while visiting the UK for someone that actually lives there. I was redirected to this site directly from PlayStation.com, the payment went through without any issues, but now I am being told a refund is only possible if I reside in the US.
Yes, you read that correctly. They took my money (from another country), delivered nothing, and refuse to refund it due to residency—despite allowing the purchase in the first place.
This is not a mistake. This is not a misunderstanding.
This is a scam.

horribly getting robbed

recently, my friend paid 10 dollars for a playstation giftcard as a gift for me. it showed her an error that the transaction failed but took 10 dollars from her credit card and here we are 15 hours later no signs of it on the email. so please send either a refund or send a new card so I can enjoy my gift.

I’m extremely frustrated with the way…

I’m extremely frustrated with the way @PlayStation / Gift Card Support has handled my issue. I accidentally purchased a USD gift card while based in Europe — and it turns out I can’t redeem it because of currency restrictions that weren’t clearly communicated at checkout.

I reached out for help and was told I could place a new order in euros and then cancel the original one. That seemed fair. But now I’ve received the exact same copy-pasted response THREE times from a support rep (Alexis S.), refusing to acknowledge my situation at all.

It feels like the support team is either not reading my messages, or they just don’t care. I'm not asking for a refund — just to exchange the unusable USD card once I buy the correct one. That’s not unreasonable.

This kind of robotic, unhelpful customer service is unacceptable. If you sell gift cards internationally, your system should either block incompatible purchases or clearly warn users upfront.

I’ve wasted hours trying to resolve this, and I’m no closer to a solution. If I don’t hear back from someone who can actually help, I’ll escalate through my payment provider and share this experience widely so others can avoid the same issue.

Do better.
