My 2014 review was polite, detailed but to the bone, and Pointsworld had it removed because 'it violated' Trust pilot guidelines (?)... but... I never received an email about it though. If I remember well, wasn't Trust Pilot the brainchild of Pointworld (??).

Anyway, Pointsworld and Pointshop started well but ended badly for many members, including myself, they started to be unclear with points, to say the least. For gifts, their request of a copy of identifying documents was unacceptable, I do not want to give away them over the Internet.

This is a scam!
Promised an iPhone for €1. No phone has arrived, but my bank card is being debited with €49 each month. I need to get this stopped, and hopefully refunded.

From best to worst

When it was Pointshop this Company was just great. Everything worked perfect. But when they changed to Pointworld Everything changed. How to get Points get worse, the shop is now crap and the support and programmer can't do anything.

It did start with a problem to use a campaign to reduce price. But there was an bug in there so it didn't work. I did tell the support the problem and sayed to them exactly where to look after the bug in the program. But the programmers didn't want to fix it or they can't because they don't know how to program. After a while the support did stop answere me when they couldn't fix it in many many month (they still haven't fix it and it's almost one year ago i told them).

After many trix and fix I did get around the bug and could use the campaign. I did get a smartwatch and it did came to me after some month. But it didn't work proper and after a few hours it didn't work at all. The support told me that I could send it back so they could look what is wrong with it. But I need to pay for the shipping cost (the cost that came because they send a broken smartwatch). So I need to pay for their mistake. They take no responsibilities at all.

So what can I say about this company? When it was Pointshop it was really good and just perfect. Now when it is Pointworld I only have bad experience and miss how it was before.

Hi Andreas,

Thank you very much for writing this review.
We are very sorry that your experience is not like it was before.
Unfortunately I am not able to answer on the IT bugs you refer to as I cannot find anything on this in the mail support. But you are welcome to send a mail about that to our main office and then we take it from there internally, because we want our users to have the best possible experience on PointWorld.
In order to the smartwatch you received, I can tell you that we are very sorry that it broke shortly after receiving it. This off course is not good. We therefore decided to send you a new Smartwatch as soon as possible. We off course will talk about this matter in our support team to see what went wrong in the communication internally. I hope I informed you well and hope you will be satisfied with this answer.

Bad experience

They have a campaign where you can get for example an iPhone as a welcome present when you sign up as Premium member at PointWorld. I did and then I got an email that I should go to another website (GiftCable) to claim the gift with my order number. You had to write all kinds of information, prove your identity etc. After doing all this I got a message from GiftCable that PointWorld had informed them ”to close this claim” and that I should be in contact with them if I wanted more information. I emailed them and the response was that the campaign was about ”offering a chance to win in a draw”. If that´s the case, I wonder why this wasn´t mentioned in the first place and why I got a mail with information about how to claim my gift. Naturally, I wouldn´t have become a Premium member had I known that when doing so I only participated in a draw. In their own Premium Terms on their websites they write that they sometimes provide offers where you get Premium membership at a reduced price and a welcome gift upon signing up. This was the information I got and the reason why I signed up but it seems that this was misleading information just to get a new Premium member.

Edit. Hence it wasn´t possible to reply to the response from PointWorld I´m writing in here instead.
Before signing up it was clearly stated that my phone was "the lucky winner of the day" and that I would get a prize as a "thank you for being a Facebook mobile user". I can still get into the same page from my phone and read the same text that says that each Thursday one is being chosen and that "you are the lucky one and can choose one of the prizes FOR FREE" (one of them being the iPhone 6s.). I only had to sign up as PointWorld Premium member for 5 € for 5 days.
I also do have given my PaymentID for becoming Premium member when writing this review.

Hi.

Thank you for your message here.
Unfortunately I cannot answer on your personal situation as you have not mentioned a reference number on your membership at PointWorld.

I inform you hereby, that when you signed up through our campaign where you can win an iPhone, it is clearly stated on the landingspage that you can win an iPhone and that it is not a welcome gift. This is also clearly mentioned in the terms which you have to cross off to confirm that you have read the terms.

After your signup you have received an email on the advantages you can get using PointWorld. In that email following is written: "If you used a give away offer campaign when you signed up, you are eligible for a welcome gift."

Our opinion is that we have informed you well in each step.

Answer to your editted post.
You state that you were "the lucky winner of the day" and that you would get a prize as a "thank you". This is not the online marketing we run. Who did send you that message? It is not us that promised you a prize. We think it must have been a publisher that runs this kind of marketing. Our campaign is very clear as written above. If someone else mislead you, you are welcome to contact our support team on www.pointworld.com/support and send them some screenshots about how this publisher ran an online campaign with our campaign. Then they can have a look at it and get in touch with this publisher.

Great customer support, somewhat slow response

I signed up to get a android smartphone as a welcome gift, after a little bit back and forth - my gift finally arrived, I unsubscribed before my trial went out. And from there, everything went fine really. It took about a month to receive my gift. Thanks Pointworld! :-)
