I arranged a Go lesson with Marcin Majka (higaki) for my child. The lesson consisted of a game review and a commented game with the teacher. Even though we met online, Marcin was very engaging and made it feel like a live meeting. He was taking full use of the review tools on the server (OGS) to show important areas of the board, explain alternative variations, etc. The comments were clear and memorable, and my child really enjoyed the whole thing. We also got a link to download a video recording of the lesson soon afterwards. On the organization side, the contact with polgote, arranging the meeting and payment were quick and straightforward. We will come back!

It was quite instructive at some points but way too much time spent during reviews on explaining multiple variants of some moves that did not turn out to be extremely relevant on the overall game. Review quality would improve in my opinion if game was submitted before hand and player itself asked for points to review with teacher only intervening on a maximum of other 3 crutial points.
I really enjoyed playing teaching games during the lesson although maybe, given the reduced size of the class it would have been possible to play simultaneous teaching games (maybe just 50 moves, brief review and then other 50 moves?).

I learned a lot in this course. Our teacher, Higaki, knows the game very well and has a very humble take at teaching. He always has arguments to defend his opinions and admits it when doesn't know if a move is good or not. He is honest and has a great sense of humor.
The reduced class size and the teaching methods were great to always feel included.

I'm taking private lessons with Andrii Kravets, one hour per week for five or six weeks now. Lessons are very useful, we are reviewing games I play during the week and send to him before lessons. Each lesson is recorded and you can download the video. Andrii is very helpful, and will help you for any question or any need.

I also had a cycle of group lessons, they were interesting and the "tournament-like" organization is fun, so overall was a good experience. Though I think that a group lesson every 2 weeks is not enough "intense", and I prefer taking private lessons now.

I was very happy and satisfied with the Polgote Online Go Course for Beginners. I appreciate that the teacher introduced more advanced content when he realized most of us had some previous learning experience. I thought yesterday's lesson on evaluating the worth of different ko threats valuable and was the right level of challenge as a learner. I was challenged to grasp the concept but in the end with explanation I did understand. And thus took a good step in my development. I did take the beginners class because i didn't want to miss out on any basics that may happen from learning on my own. The teacher continued to hammer the basics at a more advanced level.
At the same time, the teacher went right back to the beginning for those of use that needed the very basics. Also at other time myself or other classmates had trouble grasping certain concepts. The teacher was very patient and was able to explain in different ways until we firmly understood the concept
The class consisted of students from all over the world so the set up allowed for different time zone. Having a recording of each lesson helped when I needed to go back to review or when I missed the odd class because of work. Playing against my classmates and then having the game reviewed by the teacher really helped my learning. The course was a great value for the amount classes and level of teaching.
I'm glad I took this course and look forward to taking the intermediate course

It is a very good course that has taken me from the "absolute" zero level to understanding the go game philosophy and principles. The instructions are clear, there are group discussions and homeworks. And of course games. Also the technical setup of the course works perfectly.

I booked individual go-lessons with Péter Markó via Polgote.com. The booking of the lessons is easy, and Mateusz is very helpful with any questions I had. He provided advice on which form of lessons and which teacher might suit me best. The lessons are fun, and have already improved my game. I will definitely order some more.

I went back to playing go 5 years ago and because of family and work I never have the time to visit a go club and take classes with an actual teacher.
I recently found Polgote and scheduled a class with one of their professor. You have a complete list of strong players you can choose from. It is very easy and they pay a lot of attention to their students. I am thrilled by my first lessons and look forward to continue.

I have had great classes with Stanislaw Frejlak, which I plan to continue because they have helped improve my game.

I attended polgotes 15-20k course and really enjoyed myself. The teacher was very good and tailored the lessons to what he thought would be best for us.

The course was affordable and I think having a stronger player to point out and explain why your mistakes are mistakes was very valuable for someone with my rank.

I had no problem at all with the audio quality or anything like that and got recorded videos of all my lessons which was very nice to have.

Just completed this 10 lesson course and really learned a lot from it. Joining the group discord, playing on OGS and receiving the session recordings on YouTube were all easy to do and well explained right from the start.

The instructor was very good with communications and tailored the session according to our needs and experience. He was also very flexible around rearranging the session times if needed.

I have a better understanding of the game now and I'm able to reason about where to look for moves rather than blindly groping for what I think are the big areas.

I recommend this course for new players, and if based on this experience I would gladly take more courses from Polgote.

The private teachings really addresses the core problems of my play as a 3-4d, and I feel that I play more reasonable now after just 4 times. I had great fun during the teachings. I also participated in the Tsumego-Cycle with other peers. As the tutors are themselves embedded into the (European) Go-community, you also get lots of insight into Go-related events or not-Go-events due to Corona.

I've been solving problems through Polgote for a couple of months, now. I love the service, and it's one of the main ways I study go these days.

You might say that you can solve problems on your own. That's true, but the extra social accountability of knowing your solutions will be graded is quite motivating.

I highly recommend the service to anyone interested in training their reading ability.
