Written by the company

Polytranslator is a translation tool for the languages other translators skip. Alongside major modern languages, it covers more than 390 languages in total — including ancient and historical ones like Ancient Greek, Latin, Old English, Coptic, Aramaic, Old Norse, Sumerian, and Egyptian hieroglyphs, as well as regional languages and dialects that rarely get proper tool support. It's used every day by students working through classical texts, academics and researchers handling primary sources, clergy and scripture scholars, genealogists reading old family documents, and heritage learners reconnecting with a language their grandparents spoke. Beyond simple text translation, Polytranslator handles full documents and PDFs — including long books, preserving continuity across chapters — plus image translation for photos of inscriptions, manuscripts, and signs. Many languages include pronunciation audio, and an Explain feature breaks down grammar and word choices so you can learn from a translation rather than just copy it. Free side-by-side reading guides for Shakespeare and structured beginner courses for Ancient Greek and Old English round out the learning side. The core translator is free to use. Pro plans unlock higher limits, larger documents, and advanced translation quality for heavy users like researchers and professionals. Polytranslator is independently built and actively developed, with new languages and features shipping regularly. If something looks wrong, we read every piece of feedback — accuracy on rare languages is the whole point.

Super faithful

I'm using it to publish a HTML open-source edition of the Corpus Aristotelicum.
I'm triple-checking against public domain English translations and recent French translations.
The result is seamless, no edits required.
The semantics match and the original Greek rhythm is preserved.

Perfect tool, highly recommended.

Wonderful to have a free Cornish to English translator. Frustrating that when I want a Fast translation, and click on the Fast button, it instead boasts it is giving me free Advanced translation -- which never in fact translates my 4-line email at all. I just want to be able to choose fast, please.

Has an edge over alternatives

Better translations than alternative free translation sites. Stands out for its ability to translate Old English text to Present-day English.
