Scam

Scam, I ordered a few figurines, the price in the basket said that the price included all fees. I received an email informing me that I had to pay extra for shipping. This seemed strange to me, but I was willing to pay the extra. But it turned out that the shipping amount exceeded the order amount. I received a link from the company to their terms and conditions, which states that if I cancel, they will charge me 30% of the order. I believe this is a scam. I spent my last money on this order, and they took nearly $50. I do not recommend it.

(I did not receive an offer to cover part of the shipping costs as they claim)

Hi Julia,

We’re genuinely sorry to hear you’re upset, but we want to clarify the facts, as your review contains several inaccuracies.

You placed an international order for five figurines and selected a shipping option clearly labeled for a single 4” pop, which is standard for most of our international customers. As stated in our shipping policy (available during checkout and in your confirmation email), orders with more than one item require additional shipping, and we always contact customers before proceeding.

In your case, the original shipping paid was NZ$60. After receiving a quote from NZ Post, we let you know that tracked shipping for your parcel would cost NZ$137. We offered to cover a portion ourselves and only asked for an additional NZ$60—which is less than your total order value, not more, as claimed.

When you chose to cancel, we reminded you of our published 30% restocking fee, which covers admin, handling, and transaction costs. You acknowledged this and agreed to proceed with the cancellation under those terms.

We understand disappointment, especially when dealing with international logistics and tight budgets—but calling our business a “scam” is both unfair and untrue. We followed our policies transparently, communicated clearly, and offered options in good faith.

We’re always happy to clarify shipping or pricing before orders are placed, and we welcome questions at any time. We hope your future shopping experiences are more aligned with your expectations.

Sincerely,
Popsession

Edit - Julia now claims that we never offered to cover part of the shipping cost, but we did (twice) in two separate emails, the first in English which she never replied to and then again in Polish a few days later.

Not sure if this is a scam but I feel…

Not sure if this is a scam but I feel it is, I called the contact number and it was a man who didn't even sound from this country yet he said he could deliver it to me over night and was pushing for me to just put my details in. I searched up the address on the website which also just led to a random suburban house

Like many NZ small businesses we are indeed home based and live in a suburban house! For the record, you called during the busiest week of the year and told us that you wanted a last minute present urgently and wanted to make sure it could be there asap so I rushed off and packed it up to get shipped out and sent you a courtesy text when it was ready. All of our sales have payment options with buyer protection (credit card, Zip, AfterPay) and if we were a scam all of those payment options wouldn't be available to us or our customers. Happy Holidays and I hope you take the time to read this and rethink your review. Cheers!
