I top up my card prior to traveling
I top up my card prior to traveling. I wanted to top when I was away. I tried 3 times to do a top up through app and nothing happened. Yet top up with my local post office using the same debit card no problem. It's not useful if you can top up through app. That's defeat the purpose of having the card as back up.

Easy and secure way to carry foreign currency.
Uploaded euros onto this for a 6 week trip. Easy to upload as and when more funds were required. Used it to pay for everything whilst traveling, hotels on booking.com, restraints, supermarkets, bars etc. Positive experience all round. Only need to upload a few euros at a time which saves carrying around your main bank cards or lots of cash.

Newport St Bolton. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went in to purchase currency. The staff were not only unhelpful but downright rude. The Post Office published rate did not resemble this branch's rate, and without raising any complaint regarding the exchange rate I was very rudely informed they can apply whatever rate they wish. I understand their right but the manner of first woman was unacceptable when I ask why she was being so rude she waved me away and told to me to que up at another counter. At the other counter Safira was better to deal with but refused to give me the name of previous woman but told me to go and check her badge. When I asked if there was a manager I could to speak to she said he was not in and dismissed my request! I gave up at this point as obviously they were not offering any service level what so ever. NOTE OF WARNING FOR ANYONE WANTING TO BUY CURRENCY HERE.

Simply did not work
Simply did not work when it came to the first Chip and Pin transaction. Took it because it got a better cash conversion rate but given there are loads of other 'no charge' card options I was unconvinced there was a point to this card. In the end it is now just hassle to find a way to get money back. Recommend you use Monzo, Revolut or Chase etc.

I have never ever been so discussed in…
I have never ever been so discussed in the Post Office, a so called professional company, the way they have treated me is an absolute disgrace.
They took my money paced it upon my card then froze it for no reason what so ever, this happens nearly 5 x weeks ago, it is still not resolved, 3 x cards totalling nearly £1400, they don’t return my calls, they are ignoring my emails, and basically treat me like I’m nothing, they won’t even let me put a complaint in, an absolute joke, I can see now why the Post Masters where treated so so badly, they have done the very same thing to me. Do your self a big favour, don’t let them take your monies, shower of SHITE.
Isnt it bizarre, you put a comment on Trust Pilot about an issue you have with the Post Office, ( never called me back & ignoring my emails) before now, and only now do they want to talk with me, what a strange coincidence 😂😂

DO NOT USE - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
As mentioned by others in the 1-star reviews, these travel cards are very inconsistent and it made me feel extremely vulnerable being in a foreign country with no financial security. We struggled to get the card set up, it did not activate properly, despite showing as activated. It refused two purchases whilst abroad. Then on return, despite stating you could spend any left over cash on it to make purchases in the UK, as it is multi currency, our online grocery shop payment was not accepted, but the money has still left the post office travel card. We now owe for the shopping but our money is missing. The Post Office have informed us that it will take ten days to initiate a dispute form. We have to fill it in and return it, which then takes up to 45 days to be processed. I imagine with the processing times, we could be without the money for almost 3 months. We have had no guarantee we will actually get the money back. I find this unacceptable and I would not recommend using a travel card to anyone.

Do NOT use this travel card when visiting abroad, bcos I have experienced so many problems, it's unbelievable. .!!
I've had problems topping up my card which is linked to my bank and today I haven't been able to withdraw any money or pay for anything bcos mine and my daughter's cards kept being declined, despite having sufficient funds on the cards.
There's no option to contact via live chat and I have had to contact via email.
The phone numbers are NOT 24/7 and there's a temporary service on both numbers, so unable to call anyone!!
Useless customer service and I regret using this payment method when I'm on holiday abroad.
Being left in a foreign country without the means to pay for anything or withdraw cash, is diabolical. .!!!

Not so good after all!
This is my original review a few days ago:
First time of used the Post Office travel car. Adding funds to the card is straightforward and and not having a bank account linked to the card is a great feature.
The transactions view are instant so keeping track of expenses is easy.
This card is so much easier than carrying around currency notes and coins.
I now amend it:
I paid a security deposit at a Zurich hotel 13th September 26, they put through the refund 14th September 26 and yet today (18th September 36) the v refund has not been credited to my Travel Card. Post Office - are you responsible? My travel card has over CHF 500 and yet there doesn't appear to be an easy way to have this amount transferred back to my linked bank account, and YES, I have swapped the amount back to Sterling! Very disappointing 😞

What is wrong with these people?
I ordered some euros BUT there is nowhere to put what denominations you want. I immediately responded to the order confirmation, asking for 2 x Euro100 bills, to give as part of a wedding present. I end up with a wad of notes, a 50, 6 x 20's and 6 5's. yeh, really impressive service.
More buck passing, what can't they forward my complaint?
