Locked out of accessing my charts but still being charged.
I'm a physician in solo practice, therefore no other staff work with me. I changed my phone number, which was unfortunately the number used by Practice Fusion (PF) for 2FA. PF gave no other 2FA options, like email or even the ID ME so therefore I was locked out of accessing my patient charts. when I contacted PF by ticket, as the phone number is not listed in the help contact section ( its on their general website where potential new clients would look) I was emailed this ridiculous set of busy tasks to complete.
Before our Security team is able to process your request, we ask you to email us your identity verification information. This includes:
1. Notarized Letter written on Formal Practice Letterhead (must include practice contact information) that includes a description of your request and is signed by the provider or user. Please include the old and new phone number in the letter.
2. Clear, current, and valid Business License or Certificate
3. Clear, current, and valid Medical License
4. Clear, current, and valid government issued photo ID with signature.
Please note that the time required for your request can vary and your patience is appreciated. If we have any questions, or require additional information, we will reach out to you directly.
Why is PF asking for a notarized letter and a business license that they have never requested previously. What documents are they using to compare these to when they have none for me previously on file. This is someone having a bad day. PF clearly lacks the necessary reverence for the urgency of a physician needing to access their charts.
Just a word of caution for potential users of PF. PF's customer service is A+ as a potential client but there is a precipitous drop to the bottom of the pit once you have signed on. You will have to search for a phone number to speak with anyone; they will not operate as a partner in assisting your practice; and they also do not pay attention to the features that physicians request. They only focus on adding features for which they can charge.
PS: PF has been deducting my full fee every month while having locked me out.
CHOOSE ANOTHER EMR.
