Slower than the NHS
I received an appointment to see a consultant for my injury reasonably quickly but there was no one available to undertake an ultrasound scan on the day of my appointment. I was promised a call back within a few days to arrange which did not happen. The following week i was advised the first available slot for a scan was a further 3 weeks. My injury was time sensitive and this length of delay for a scan was completely unacceptable, so i decided the NHS was a better route for my treatment. I have informed BUPA that i feel this level of service for a Private hospital is very poor and would not recommend this hospital if they are slower than the NHS for basic services like scanning.

Very disappointing and not what I expected.
The appointment was cancelled by phone 15 minutes before I planned to leave home to attend my appointment. I was told that I had been booked in to see the wrong consultant and that I would get a refund of my money. I said I didn't want a refund just another booking with the correct consultant and was told that the consultant would not be in the clinic till April. So my payment was refunded and no further appt. given.

The Consultant was so nice and caring. He's explained everything and reassured me.
Nurses were so nice too.
Would not hesitate to go there again should I need to.

I’ve booked a private treatment with…
I’ve booked a private treatment with this rubbish so called private hospital . I’ve had the first consultation. And examination? For a prostate cancer problem. But i never been told that the doctor would examine me that the doctor can penetrate me with a something that I never been told? That would be the part of examining? Plus I’ve been told that I would get a call with in next 2 or 3 days to be booked for MRI tests? It’s been a week called them (supposedly to be private health care coordinator said to me P. W….n 07580 …9. She was the one I would get a call to be booked for a MRI SCAN. Now she doesn’t answer the calls? Even paying privately does not get you any where with this hospital.

Paid for private consultation on 23/01. Still waiting for the report despite requesting it three times. Reports from NHS received within 2 days. It’s now been over 3 weeks. Not acceptable.

Great experience
Recently had a surgery here. I had a surgery elsewhere 4 years ago and the aftercare was so bad and make me really nervous for this one.
The pre op and after op care was so amazing, the staff made me feel so at ease, picked up on my nervousness, helped me laugh when I was feeling down.
After waking up , nothing was too much and they were all so quick to help if I needed anything. Even the walk from my ward to the car, a nurse noticed I was in pain and rushed to get me a wheelchair.
Could not thank them all enough

Excellent service for MRI Scan
I booked an MRI with Practice Plus Group through Scan.com. Contacted within 24 hrs to book appointment within a couple of days at local hospital. Prompt service, friendly staff and results processed the same day. Excellent service!
Very poor.
Initial consultation with full medical details resulted in decision for bilateral knee replacement. Ten weeks later, with the same medical information, PPG changed its mind (probably correctly so). Ten weeks of wasted time and stress. PPG does not return phone calls, reply to online contact form, or answer email.
Ongoing complaint
I had surgery at Practice Plus on 27/09/2024 and have been left in ongoing pain ever since. I’ve only ever asked for help and clear answers about what happened, but instead I was labelled a vexatious complainant.
In truth, I feel they have been vexatious towards me — leaving me in pain, without answers, and treating my distress as a nuisance rather than a cry for help. Patients deserve honesty, compassion, and respect, not dismissal when they’re suffering.
Dupytrens hand surgery
Dupytrens hand surgery went well, with sufficient local pain relief. Problems started after 1st post op assessment. Sent home with inadequate supplies of replacement dressings, so when I tried to redress it ( not easy with one hand) I had to buy more, which turned out to be the incorrect ones. Wound got infected, so on next assessment it looked awful, weeping badly and extremely painful. They wanted to go ahead and take the stitches out anyway WITH NO PAIN RELIEF. I REFUSED. AN ARGUMENT ENSUED. Eventually, the clearly annoyed consultant reluctantly agreed to numb the hand, and most stitches were taken out. No anti biotics were given despite asking 3 times for them. They took a swab and I was told to come back in 5 days. Wound got worse, and more painful, so I visited my local GP's nurse who redressed it and got the doctor on call to prescribe anti biotics. These seemed to work, as by the next hosp asseasment appt the wound looked much better and the remaining stitches were removed. The hosp nurses were not happy that I had been to my local GP nurse, but I couldnt believe they were content to let me go 5 DAYS with an infected hand. Swab test had revealed 2 types of bacteria, so different anti biotics were prescribed, and I was discharged. My advice to those going through this, or a similar procedure. ..question everything; ask for adequate supplies of dressings; seek support from local GP/ nurse if unable to re dress properly; insist on pain relief if the pain of stitch removal is unbearable. (Two patients before me had already passed out !)

This is an unbelievably unprofessional…
This is an unbelievably unprofessional and hopeless "business". Briefly, was not happy with discussions on progress after a TKR. Asked for second opinion and whilst friendly was no better off. Physio was very good but discussed using a local physio if I found one. I phoned and left detailed message that I had found one nearer to home and reasons for cancelling next appointment. Nothing, no reply, zilch! message arrives stating not to forget appointment. Replied to message, then again, nothing. Rang and spoke to a robot sounding woman who, in spite of explaining merely replied - "oh you want to cancel do you". I will never use this group again who frankly "give the impression" to be just taking any patients to lower NHS waiting lists and you are left with the sense they are only in this for the money! Never again. To make matters worse, the anaesthetic, pre op, took 3 attempts then I heard [later] theat person had left and gone back abroad. I still suffer from numbness (due to that alone one year later). The TKR op itself, thankfully, seems to be ok but just ok. i.e. I realise not everyone is skiing or playing golf in weeks after the op but one year and I am still unsure how this will play out. So, in summary: Consultant - "not great bedside manner", explanations - awful. Anaethetist - dreadful, physio, excellent, messaging and phone call to customer service (or whatever they call themselves) ghastly and incompetent.

I recently had surgery at Southampton practice plus. This was my first ever surgery. And my first ever general anaesthetic. I was so frightened of the unknown. But I can honestly say every professional was amazing. Especially the anaesthetic doctor who explained everything and the surgeon who hugged me when I was upset. You made my first surgery experience a good one I’ll be forever grateful. Thank you

So my saga continues,on the 11th April…
So my saga continues,on the 11th April the surgeon told me my operation was cancelled due to the fact CT scans taken on the 19th October 2024 revealed and infection on a tooth and as i was having issues relating to sinuses this would have to be dealt with prior to my operation. the surgeon stated " go to a dentist and get the tooth removed" I did this yesterday attending a Bupa Dental Surgery and at a cost of £445 had what they described as a healthy tooth removed, and a sever of the bridge for which the tooth was under. My partner called PPG telling them that the surgery was being undertaken and to relist my operation, i can not describe what it was like to have dental work undertaken when the only form of air intake is through my mouth! panic stations were in action.
My partner hit a brick wall with PPG she stated i was being dealt with, to a response well that's not acceptable she has an appointment with our dentist on the 14th May, no i hadn't been asked if that was convenient, and or advised of the date. my partner told her the conversation with the surgeon for which she said she would need evidence from Bupa which they did and was sent to PPG yesterday (radio silence has prevailled). I also attended my doctors due to this matter and they were surprised that they have not had one update since August last year of my matter from PPG. As i said to my doctor would they prescribe for a patient on 6 months old scans! for which she confirmed most definately not, she then asked if i had been back to the hospital and i confirmed 3 times since the scan and at no time was this issue raised, even though the first of the 3 were to review my CT scans.... (they are a joke)

Terrible after care
I have had the pleasure of 2 separate referrals to the Southampton branch at the Royal South Hants. My first experience was to have my finger amputated. The appointments before any surgery were great but the after care has been terrible. The bandages fell off before I left the building when I had the stitches removed. No one replied to answer machine messages on more than one occasion and I was struck off as I hadn’t attended an appointment I’d let them know I couldn’t make. I didn’t get referred for the physio and when I eventually did, I attended 2x 3 minute appointments. I have cancelled my second procedure as this experience has been terrible. I did complain and the reply was delayed repeatedly and when it did eventually arrive it didn’t answer any of my questions, then then offered to send another reply on a specific date as I was dissatisfied only to be told it was again delayed so gave up and cancelled my future appointments.

Very Disappointed.…
I attended PPG at the Royal SH Hospital, Southampton for the third time on 28 March for an Echocardiogram. This was followed by a telephone appointment with the Anaesthetist on 29 March. I was informed that the test revealed a reduced heart function, incompatible with surgery and I should see a Cardiologist. While I accept that my safety is paramount, I have no signs of obvious heart problems, (breathlessness, chest pain etc.). Indeed at my first consultation last December with the Orthopaedic Surgeon at PPG, St Mary's, Portsmouth, he recorded my Atrial Fibrillation but good ankle pulses. As the Echocardiogram has proved critical, I feel it should have been arranged on my first visit to Southampton. My hip replacement is now receding into the indefinite future and I am very disappointed.

HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL AND…
HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL AND DANGEROUS...
Practice Plus Group ruined my health and my legs!!!!
In 2017 I broke my right foot after a bad fall and I went to Urgent Treatment Centre in Royal South Hantts in Southampton.
BARR JONES didn't want to do an x ray or nothing and sent me home with a broken foot!
Since then I have problems with that foot, etc
On 12th of February 2025 AGAIN URGENT TREATMENT CENTRE A "PARAMEDIC NOT A DOCTOR" SIMON JONES sent me home with fluid in my leg again no x ray or any treatment. I was limping badly and I have a lot of pain HE EVEN DIDN'T BOTHER TO LOOK OR TO TOUCH MY LEG AT ALL...
Because I tried to complain DANNY WROE from the complaint department was extremely rude with me and totally against me...
CLAIRE SLOPER FROM THE COMPLAINT
DEPARTMENT THREATED ME TO CALL THE AUTHORITIES BECAUSE I COMPLAINED AND I WANTED THEM TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE....
NEGLIGENCE TWICE!!!!
SHE THREATED ME BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T WANT ME TO COMPLAIN AND THIS WOMAN IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!
ADRÌAN PEAKE AND JOHN CRISP THE HOSPITAL DIRECTOR ARE ACCOMPLICES OF THIS.
FOR ALL THEM IS OK TO SEND PEOPLE HOME WITH BROKEN BONES....
THIS URGENT TREATMENT CENTRE IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!!
AND THEY THREAT YOU IF YOU TRY TO COMPLAIN.....
THEY PLAY WITH PEOPLE LIFES...HORRIBLE!
