Disappointing and financially damaging.

Additional Information: Original appointment tookplace early June in their Hatton Garden facility. ''We'' in my review refers to I was not alone on the appointment. Therefore, I am one of the two people who used their services that posted this review.

We were referred to Tim as a trusted jewellery valuer and buyer. I genuinely wish we had never stepped through his door.

After paying over £1,000 for a valuation, Tim promptly disappeared. No responses to emails or phone calls for weeks, despite our clear willingness to proceed with the sale. It was as if he vanished.

Eventually, out of frustration, we consulted a completely independent but this time, global valuer. Within 30 minutes — at no cost — we were told the shocking truth: the actual market value of our pieces was ten times lower than what Tim and his team had quoted. Ten times.

We were left not only humiliated but out of pocket. The discrepancy between the inflated valuation and the actual resale value is staggering, and frankly, it feels like a scam.

Use extreme caution. This experience has been deeply disappointing and financially damaging.

However, we are unable to locate any record of an appointment, visit, or valuation under your name, or any relevant entry in our system, on or around the date you have stated (29th July 2025). We have also verified that no member of our team, including Tim, had any client interaction scheduled or carried out on that day.

To assist you further and to ensure a fair and transparent investigation, we kindly ask that you contact us directly via email at info@prestigevaluations.com and provide the following:

The full name under which the appointment was made

Any written correspondence or documentation you may have received from us

Until such details are provided, we are unable to substantiate the claims made in your review. In the absence of verifiable information, we will have no option but to formally report the review as potentially false or misleading, as it does not align with any record or engagement from our office.

We remain committed to resolving genuine concerns professionally and fairly. We look forward to your response and the opportunity to clarify any misunderstanding.

Kind regards,

Registered Valuer or not?

Very helpful and open to explain about diamond valuation (Tim and Sophie). However, the overly positive assessment of my diamond 4Cs, and guidance about which certification to obtain, then led me down a path that did not achieve the objective of a valuation and sale of the diamond. It turned out that a nearby pawnbrokers estimated valuation in 2017 was much closer to the eventual sale price. Next time I would check first whether the valuer is a member of the Institute of Registered Valuers.

So caring and kind

So caring and kind. I was a bit nervous about sharing information about my jewellery with Tim, but he made me feel at home and safe. Thanks too, Sophie for helping me decide on remodelling

I recommend them highly…

Have purchased and had valued several pieces of jewellery over the years, including recently and they have never let me down in terms of time or quality/professionalism. Highly rate them and recommend them regularly to others.
