Stay away from this provider, they are scammers who use misleading tactics to get you to pay a lot more for a car. Just go and book from another provider. Here is my experience:
I booked a car via Booking for 9th of June 2026, with booking number 686174729, because this provider offered a very good price, way lower than the market. When I went to the office, provided a valid voucher, valid insurance purchased via Booking, valid driver license, valid ID and valid credit card with my name on it, they requested my name to be embossed in metallic lettering on the card. And for that reason they lied to me that Booking will not allow them to charge the waranty from my credit card, and asked me to pay an extra 1050 EUR as full insurance. When I refused, they also refused to provide the car. I conacted Booking and the support said every provider sets its own rules, they do not impose that condition.
This is a scam to get you to pay more, and it seems multiple Romanian providers are using it exactly the same. This only happens in Romania, of course, because here you can steal without getting punished. So be very careful who and what you book with, because Booking is in on it.

Aggressive scammers - they work by refusing to inspect cars on return and then inventing damages to retain the (very large) deposits.
Threats and aggressive behavior on returning the car when the lack of inspection or deposit return was questioned.
A disgrace to Romania - the local authorities and airports should be ashamed to do business with them.
Avoid like the plague and hope the authorities (or Karma) catch up with this bunch of criminals. It's certainly the first time I have had to involve the police in a car rental return!

The worst experience that I ever had!
I had full coverage insurance from booking.com and they convinced me to cancel it and get theirs. They told me that the price will be around 200-300 lei. When they did the paperwork I saw the pos and the amount was 1100 lei,that s insane! I m lucky that I paid attention to details. Also the rental car agent,Gheorghe from Iasi airport, asked for my phone and he wrote reviews on Google maps and trustpilot on their company on how fantastic and helpful they were. Guess what, the transaction didn't get thru and he wanted the reviews first.
Their full coverage is exagerate 1100 lei and their deposit is insane 12000 lei, 2300 euro!!!!
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place and agent!

“The card must have embossed numbers”

I asked the agent how many banks in Romania issued embossed cards he said 2 out of 10 and I’d guess zero out of 100 from international banks, certainly none in the UK. It’s a SCAM to force you at the point of pickup to buy there very extensive insurance. I declined and left without a car. Luckily I had only paid a very shall deposit and could make alternative arrangements.

⭐ Horrible Experience – Avoid PrizeCarz at Craiova Airport!

I had a terrible experience with PrizeCarz at Craiova Airport. I booked a car through Booking.com, but when I arrived, the person at the desk refused to accept my credit cards simply because they were not embossed — who even uses those old-fashioned cards anymore? No one in the UK has embossed numbers these days!

This means that technically no one from the UK could ever rent a car from this company, which is completely ridiculous in 2025.

To make matters worse, the staff member was extremely rude and unhelpful, refused to even speak with the Booking.com representative I had on the phone, and just pointed at the office number without any effort to resolve the situation.

Booking.com were polite and tried to help, but PrizeCarz refused to cooperate, and I only received a partial refund even though I never got the car.

Avoid this company at all costs – unprofessional, outdated policies, and terrible customer service.

Total scam. If you don't buy their fully coverage insurance, they will make you pay for imaginary scratches. Took the car for the day, 50kms max on a national road. No way I was gonna pay extra insurance that would have tripled the cost of the rental. When checking out they used their IR Light that would enlight any little scratch that was there before but you couldnt see in the sunlight. They kept 350€. I will Nevers go there again.

I was worried about booking our car in Cluj after reading the reviews, but the staff were very pleasant and the car was fine. We took out fully comprehensive insurance direct with them, as there seem to have been problems with taking it via booking agents, and we had no problems.

They SCAM renting car customers with invented scratches.
Do not rent from this company.

A 1 mm scratch is 700€.
The deposit is 3500€.

I wanted to rent a car and their POS was bouncing my credit card. They wanted me to buy their crazy expensive insurance.
