Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 104 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Customers frequently encountered unexpected and misleading charges, often related to mandatory insurance or additional fees not disclosed upfront, leading to significantly higher final costs than initially quoted. Many also reported poor customer service, including rude staff, long waiting times for shuttles, and difficulties with vehicle pickup, sometimes resulting in missed appointments. Furthermore, reviewers often found the rental locations inconveniently off-site and sometimes described the facilities as run-down or difficult to find. Concerns were also raised about vehicle condition, with some customers receiving dirty cars, vehicles with mechanical problems, or even roach infestations. However, some customers also noted positive experiences, particularly with the Toronto location. These reviewers highlighted helpful and quick service, including free upgrades and assistance with avoiding tolls, praising the staff for their friendly and efficient approach.

NEGATIVE STARS!!

When my husband and I arrived at the Tampa (TPA) airport on Monday, June 9 I called the phone number listed on my Priceline itinerary for “Priceless car rental”, as directed.
I got a message saying that the number was “out of order”. I found a second number on their website, also “out of order”. Finally, through an extensive Google search, I found a third number. I waited on hold for at least 15 minutes.
When I was finally able to speak to a representative, she was incredibly rude. She told me that there was “a counter” in the airport, by the Enterprise counter. And if the counter was NOT there, maybe it had “been moved” or “shut down”.
After frantically searching the airport via escalator/elevator/train, asking airport employees---for another 50 minutes after collecting our baggage—I was able to contact a local number for Priceless. The call was disconnected twice, and after repeated return calls, the representative told me that the shuttle driver would be there in 5 to 10 minutes.
After 40 minutes of waiting outside at the door that the representative specified, an unmarked white van pulled up to the wrong door, so we scrambled to get to it before it pulled away.
Ater several minutes of standing directly in front of the van door waiting for the driver to stop staring at his phone, he opened the side door automatically without exiting the vehicle or offering assistance. We loaded our own luggage into the van. The driver and his friend in the front seat watched videos on the driver’s cell phone during the entire ride, as my husband and I sat in the seats directly behind them. We were the only passengers and were terrified the entire time because of the driver’s lack of attention to the road.
The ONLY time we were able to speak to someone from this company on the phone, she told me that this was a 5-10 minute ride from TPA. THIRTY FIVE minutes later, we arrived at the location after an unsafe ride, and were dropped off In front of a dilapidated building. There were cars erratically parked in a tiny lot, and a Jeep on a tow truck.
We entered the office, which was an empty room with a single desk. The agent (Rodrigo) told me that he didn’t have a car for me. I’d paid for this car months in advance and had the confirmation number and all Priceline emails/receipts ready. I had also received text messages from Priceline reminding me of the pickup time.
I asked why he didn’t have a car that I’d reserved months ago, and he told me that all of them were “in use”.
When I attempted to show him my documentation, he demanded paper copies of the declarations page from my insurance policy. I’d provided all insurance information when we booked the trip.
I showed him my auto insurance card (with policy numbers and expiration dates, etc.) I called my insurance agent, who waited on the phone to speak to him to prove my coverage. Rodrigo menacingly commanded me to end the phone call.
My insurance agent immediately emailed me the required document. My insurance agent also emailed the document to an email address that Rodrigo scribbled on a business card (proof of which I can provide, as I kept the card).
I asked for the Wi-fi password so I could access my email and he refused to give it to me, telling me that “we don’t have Wi-fi”. I then showed him his own office’s Wi-fi link and he said “I will not give it to you”.
He then told me that he’d received the document via email, but that he didn’t have a working printer. Since he couldn’t print a paper document, he could not verify my auto insurance.
He informed me that I could purchase an “upgrade” to a different vehicle. He would then charge my credit card (that was already on file) a $2000 deposit. I’d also be charged an additional $150 a day for “insurance”, since he didn’t have a PAPER copy of my own car insurance.
I told him that I’d already paid for a car in advance and he replied that since I’d already paid, “you can find your own ride to your hotel”.
I was forced to take an Uber to the hotel. Over the course of three days, we spent more than $200 on Uber/Lyft despite having already paid for a rental car that we didn’t receive.

If I could give a negative it would…

If I could give a negative it would have been negative 10. I rented with Priceless Orlando dozens of times and always received excellent services. Once they combined with the this other company it changed everything. The shuttle took over an hour to pick us up at the airport, the car itself was okay at best. I declined the toll package because I did visitor toll pass to pay for tolls that way, they charged me for tolls anyways because as their customer service said, I declined the toll pass so im not permitted to drive on toll roads!!!! Even though i paid for them through Visitor Toll Pass. They charged me $15 every time. I caught it when I got home after a few days. I called their customer service and she was about useless. They also refuse to release the deposit for 15-30 business days. They are ripping people off and its unacceptable. If you do decide to rent from them, i would bring extremely cautions as they will probably rip you off and steal from you as well.

After returning the vehicle with no issues and more petrol than when we picked it up, my deposit is till being held and I have been charged a further 80 euros for fuel. Have sent photos of before and after of the petrol gauge. The agent at the airport was extremely helpful, however the experience since has been terrible.

Avoid at all costs

I have rented autos for many years and this is by far the worst company I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. They attract you with very low prices and false claims and then hit you with mandatory fees. First of all, their claim that the shuttle bus to their off-airport location runs every 10 minutes is untrue, I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes during the mid-day hours. Their website states that the rental location is 1 mile from the airport is bogus. It is more like 5 miles. After at long last reaching the rental office, I stood on line for another 40 minutes while 1 agent processed the people ahead of me. When my turn finally arrived, I was told that I needed a copy of my auto insurance policy which I pulled up online. Despite having very high insurance coverages which included rental cars, from a well-known insurance company I was told that I needed additional liability coverage and that it would cost me $30.00 per day. At this point I decided to cut my losses and return to the airport and rent a car from a reputable company. When I went outside the person that was on line before me was waiting to be picked up by an Uber as he also was hit with the same extra $30.00 per day fee and said no to it. He graciously offered to share his ride back to the airport with me and during that ride the Uber driver told us he often picks people up from the Priceless office and they all have the same or similar complaints about this company’s rip offs. Bottom line, avoid this company at all costs!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I made my reservation via email with Priceline. Upon arriving at the Priceless Rent a Car branch in Fort Lauderdale, the first thing they told me was that I had to provide a $500 deposit (which was never specified in the reservation). They said: refund it after 10 days upon returning the vehicle. Furthermore, the price I reserved the vehicle for was invalid. The manager commented, "How could you think anyone could rent a vehicle for such a low price?" The price went from $79.18 to $275.82 + $500.24 (deposit) for the smallest vehicle. I never plan to rent from that location again.

I had a really disappointing experience…

I had a really disappointing experience with this rental company. First, they charged me a $500 security deposit (not just a hold) and now say it’ll take up to 20 days to return it. That’s completely unreasonable. Most rental companies return deposits within a week. It feels like they’re using customers’ money for their own benefit before eventually giving it back.

their return policy is outrageous. 30 minutes grace period or they charge $500.

Trying to extend the rental was nearly impossible. I emailed and called multiple times well before the return time — no one responded.

If you’re thinking of renting from this company, be extremely cautious. Their policies are inflexible, communication is nonexistent, and they hold onto your money way too long. Not worth the stress.

The worst car rental ever

The worst car rental ever. Predatory hidden fees. I booked a mid size vegicle for $15 a day. When picking up, they forced me to get sun pass, even though I have my own transponder. Also they have a mandatory insurance policy that charges you $30 per day. I have a car insurance that covers rental cars, but Priceless policy is that the deductible cannot be higher than $500 and covers from $100.000 to $300.000 (deductible of a compact/economy car and coverage of luxury! Who has a policy like that??) none meets that criteria. You end up spending 6 times more than your budget. And one more detail, the prepaid booking is non refundable!!!!!

Watch out for hidden fees with this…

Watch out for hidden fees with this company. It was supposed to be less then $300 and we ended up paying $860 for a week. They added car insurance and wouldn't take ours and the also added their toll system. Too much money. They also gave us a different car that I did not choose online. Not doing business with these people ever again.

I gave it a chance as the rental price…

I gave it a chance as the rental price was decent, while the pick up from the lax parking structure was nice, the rest of the rental was not!
They charged me 625$ after I returned the car, but my rental was fully paid. One person tells me no worries you are all good, but the charge stayed.
I had to disput this with my bank and you know how troublesome that is.
Also thei parking structure is creepy as well as that elevator, plus no employees there at night!
Stay away, ACE CAR FENTAL WAS a bit better sane good price

DO NOT USE! This place is a Scam

This place is a Scam, first they tried to rent me a car with serious body damage even as they charged me $2,500 on my credit card in case of damage even though I had insurance coverage thru my credit card. then the car they rented me had mechanical issues , the transmission kept slipping out of gear while I was in motion, the day before my return I got a flat tire and there was no spare tire, no tools in the trunk. They haven't returned my deposit or answered my calls and it's been almost three months since the return. I started a fraud claim against them and letting my insurance and credit card companies sort it out and hoping I get all my money back. I rent cars all over the world, ( mexico, costa rica, panama, Brazil, Colombia, Ireland, Portugal) and I have never had a worse experience.

The staff ignored my phone calls when I tried several times to communicate about shuttle pickup at the airport.

The staff ignored my phone calls when we were waiting for the shuttle pickup. I would call, they would answer and then hang up. This happened multiple times. When we did finally get there, a woman leaving the office said, "Good luck." I wasn't sure she was talking to me but after speaking with the staff, I understood what she meant. Two men before me were trying to rent a vehicle. Priceless insisted they required to purchase additional car insurance for $25 per day!!! They strongly said, "that's too much!" When I went to the counter, I was told I had to purchase car insurance for $30 a day. I had already paid through Priceline. When I asked for a refund, they said I needed to go through Priceline. I have full car insurance that covers car rentals. There was no need to buy additional insurance. It was just a way to get a lot more money from me. I then told them I wanted to cancel my car rental and wanted a refund. They said I would have to go through Priceline. This was absolutely NOT true. Priceline said they would need to refund the money to them, then to me. This was absolutely dishonest.
This company is conning money from it's customers. It says either purchase insurance from us or you don't get your car after they've accepted payment for the car. It had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. In my opinion, DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS with them.

The worst experience

The worst experience. Booked through Expedia and didn’t know I was getting this joke of a company that truly belong behind bars. They rented me a very damaged vehicle and had me take pics and video. I dropped it off and no one was there and then was quickly rushed onto the shuttle bus. (Was told my vehicle originally was on airport property) it was not.

They ran my credit card after I left 5 times for all different amounts from $700 to almost $2k. So I called them and they told me there was a scratch on the bumper. This is all lies and I have the proof. They said they’ll call a claim in to my insurance co.

Scammers

Scammers. Their office was supposed to close at 11pm but told me before flight that they are closed at 10pm. Sent me to 24seven Car Rental which I had to take a bus, & then Uber there. They then charged me 2.5x more for car, and did not accept my insurance, made me pay $30 a day more for their insurance. Next, car was faulty, stopped every lights, had to wait 10-30 min to restart. Refused to have it towed back & refused to send new car to hotel. My 3 days of appointments & meetings were all delayed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Beware of the $50 Franchise Fee in San Juan

Don't believe their website. Fees are higher when you get to the counter. They also added a $50 Franchise Fee..... what a scam. Very dishonest. Stick with the brand names from the USA. Don't trust Puerto Rico business.

Be very careful NOT to use this car…

Be very careful NOT to use this car hire company.
I have now been waiting 5 months for them to return my 2000 dirham deposit. All they do is make excuses.
I have had to report them to the online portal that I booked through and start a legal case.
What J's sad is that Kayak a d other leading online portals are just giving any car hire company and don't even look at the reviews so its a scary place to ship on line when there are companies taking advantage of their customers like this
