As we mentioned over email (as we often speak!), we won’t lie – we are a little disappointed with the 4 stars. After 9 orders, free gifts, discounts, bespoke offers, and being on hand with instant support (even out of hours), we always aim to deliver a 5-star experience every time. We’re genuinely proud and passionate about what we do.

In terms of delivery, we do send full tracking details via email so you can follow your parcel and receive estimated delivery times. Royal Mail and Parcelforce should also provide options for alternative delivery or collections if you’re not in. As explained, we don’t leave parcels unattended as we’re not covered to do so – this is to protect both our customers and our business.

With 20+ years of online experience, everything we do is built around customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. That said, we’ll take the 4 stars and truly appreciate your loyalty, repeat custom, word of mouth, and always friendly interactions.

Hopefully one day we’ll nudge that up to the 5 stars we’re aiming for – but we also know there’s always room to improve, so challenge accepted!

This review is genuinely baffling and extremely unfair.

Let us walk through the actual sequence of events so anyone reading this can understand what has really happened here.

You placed an order for clearance grocery items. On our website, the dates for these items were displayed clearly in multiple places. Not hidden. Not vague. Not misleading. Clear and obvious. Did you not see the dates specified on the product pages before purchasing?

We then packed and delivered your order quickly, accurately and in good faith. Nothing missing. Nothing substituted. Nothing different to what you ordered. So we have a simple question. Did we deliver anything that was not exactly as described on the website? The answer is no.

You then emailed to say “90% items are expired”. That is simply not true. These are ambient grocery products with Best Before dates, not Use By or Expiry dates. There is a very clear and well-known difference. Best Before relates to quality, not safety. We explained this to you politely, professionally and in detail, immediately after your first email.

You then asked to return everything. We did not argue. We did not refuse. We agreed straight away and offered you a full refund once the goods are returned. That is exactly how a normal, honest retailer handles a return request.

You then asked who pays the return courier fees. We answered honestly and exactly in line with our Terms and Conditions: where goods are as described, return postage is the customer’s responsibility. We also sent your order out with free delivery and fulfilled everything exactly as promised.

So let us summarise.

We advertised the products clearly with dates shown.
We delivered exactly what you ordered.
We replied to every email swiftly, politely and professionally.
We explained everything clearly.
We offered you a full refund if you return the goods.

And yet, because you did not like the answer regarding return postage, you have left a 1 star review claiming “expired stock” and “very bad customer service”.

How did you arrive at “90% expired”? On what basis? Did we send anything different to what was advertised? No. Are we genuinely a company people should be “careful” of because we delivered exactly what was ordered and offered a full refund? That seems a stretch.

Yes, please do be careful. Be careful to read what is clearly displayed before ordering. We provide exactly what we advertise. If delivering exactly what was promised results in 1 star reviews, then so be it. We will continue to operate honestly, transparently and professionally.

Our offer still stands. Return the items and we will issue a full refund promptly upon receipt. Until then, this review does not reflect the service we provided or the facts of this situation.

Additional information: We also reached out privately and politely on three separate occasions to Mrugesh to resolve this properly. No reply.

It does appear that emails are treated the same way as product pages, descriptions and the clearly displayed Best Before dates. Skimmed, ignored, or only the bits that support the story are taken in.

If we could review customers the way customers review retailers, this one would be along the lines of:

“Did not read item descriptions. Did not understand Best Before dates. Wanted a free return on correctly described clearance goods. Ignored multiple polite messages. Left a 1 star review anyway. Rude.Proceed with caution. .be careful b4…”

Our offer remains exactly the same. Return the goods and we will refund promptly on receipt. Until then, this review is not an accurate reflection of the facts.
