My experience with Prime DeFi was financially and emotionally devastating

I normally never write reviews like this, but after everything I experienced with Dan Ryder, PrimeDeFi, and this entire community, I feel morally obligated to speak publicly so other people do not go through what I went through.

I joined PrimeDeFi in August 2023, when the community was still relatively small, with fewer than 200 members. I was sold the idea of education, support, coaching, guidance, and a premium community that would help members succeed and recover their investments over time.

I paid approximately $5,800 to join.

At the time, I was trusting them with a large part of what I had saved for my retirement. I am almost 63 years old, live alone, and this was not “extra money” for me. This was money I had worked very hard to save and protect for my future.

This book, “The Hidden Digital Gold Rush,” now feels to me like a marketing funnel designed to bring people into the larger PrimeDeFi ecosystem and paid community. After reading it, I personally do not believe there is enough valuable or unique information inside to justify what comes And this book based on my experience is just another marketing tool from Dan Ryder to get more naive and trusting people.

But the real issue is the community behind it.

At first everything sounds exciting: financial freedom, DeFi opportunities, passive income, coaching, community support, and the promise that you are entering something special and protected.

But my experience became financially and emotionally devastating.

Over time, I began discovering recurring charges on my credit card that I did not fully understand or knowingly agree to. I was eventually downgraded from premium access and later removed from the community entirely after I could no longer continue paying additional fees.

When I repeatedly asked for help and begged to be allowed back into the community because I was struggling and losing money, I was finally given access again to speak with one of the coaches regarding my wallets and crypto setup.

That decision became one of the worst mistakes of my life.

Shortly after that coaching interaction, approximately $40,000 of my crypto investments disappeared.

To this day, I still have never received a clear explanation of what happened.

Nobody seriously helped me understand it.

Nobody took responsibility.

Nobody supported me afterward in any meaningful way.

Instead, I felt ignored, isolated, and emotionally abandoned while trying to understand how I lost almost everything I had saved. One thing people should understand before joining this community is that the coaches guiding members are themselves people who originally entered the same community as paying members. From my experience, these were not independent outside professionals with proven long-term expertise in financial security or wallet protection. They were members who later became coaches inside the same system.

That is something people deserve to know before trusting their money, wallets, or financial future to this community.

Another thing that deeply concerned me was discovering later that they claimed contracts are not kept after two years. When I requested copies and clarification regarding my agreement and what had originally been promised to me, I was told they no longer retained those records.Meanwhile, I was removed from the community after approximately one year while still being charged additional recurring fees.

I also watched many promises inside the community fail to materialize. Members were encouraged to participate in projects, promotions, and token activities with expectations of major rewards and future profits. In my experience, many ordinary members put in time, effort, promotion, and trust, but very few people appeared to benefit in the way that had originally been suggested.have screenshots.

I have emails.

I have payment records.

I have recurring charge documentation.

I have videos.

I have coaching chats.

I have proof of cancellation attempts.

I have photos from community events.

I have evidence documenting my experience from beginning to end.

The emotional damage from this experience has been enormous. I am still dealing with the financial consequences and emotional stress today. Losing savings intended for retirement at this stage of life changed my situation completely.

This review is not written out of revenge.

It is written because I genuinely believe people should be extremely careful before trusting online crypto communities that make emotional promises about support, guidance, wealth, and security.

Please do your own research very carefully before spending thousands of dollars.

My personal experience was financially devastating and emotionally traumatic.

I just signed up and wasted 3 weeks of…

I just signed up and wasted 3 weeks of my life watching the videos....while being prompted after each video to leave a 5 star Google review. My onboarding phone call was very misleading, the system said that I would be joining with 30 other people, once I joined I was the only one there. The woman facilitating the call was walking around outside while feeding her dog and goats and speaking to her husband.....and showed up to the meeting 5 minutes late as well. I think Dan Ryder tried to do a good job, but you could just sign up for a coinbase account and do the same thing in about 30 minutes. You don't need to pay them $5800 and listen to a bunch of endless rambling or coaching for several hundred hours of wasted life. I am writing this because it was very misleading and I'm upset. You can make a few small commissions in the liquidity pools, but your account can get wiped out with market whips as well. Furthermore, crypto is just a bunch of fake currency, there is no value, you can't spend it anywhere, and there is no product. So you're spending a lot of time just trying to make fake money on something that is based on the US dollar anyway. The truth is, Dan probably was making little to no money, and wanted to create a revenue stream for himself....so he made a bunch of videos and charges money for membership etc. Here's the tip of the day: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME, IF THERE IS ANYTHING OF VALUE YOU CAN JUST WATCH A 5 MINUTE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE ABOUT LIQUIDITY POOLS FOR CRYPTO, AND CUT THROUGH ALL THE EXPENSE AND WASTED TIME.

Legitimate company and program, but not recommended for most people

First of all, Prime DeFi is *not* any kind of crypto scam. It is a legitimate company with a legitimate training course. The people who run the company are good people with good intentions who want the best for their students. They genuinely do their best to offer a great program.

Secondly, Prime DeFi is in the crypto space. Some would hold judgements just for that. I personally believe that the crypto industry has great potential and that it is possible to do very well on crypto investments IF someone knows what they are doing. So, I have no criticism about Prime DeFi being in the crypto space.

This is where my criticism starts though.

The Prime DeFi course is mainly focused on liquidity pools. While it is totally possible to earn a lot more from liquidity pools compared to just holding crypto, it is equally possible to lose a lot of money compared to just holding crypto.

I believe that the vast majority of the people who join Prime DeFi would be FAR better off by simply holding high quality crypto tokens than putting their crypto into liquidity pools.

From my perspective, to do well in liquidity pools, one has to REALLY know what they're doing as an investor and/or spend a LOT of time working on liquidity pools.

There are some in Prime DeFi who definitely do extremely well in liquidity pools. These people either have strong investing backgrounds to start with and/or put a lot of time into learning and researching liquidity pools.

Additionally, doing a lot of liquidity pool transactions makes for an absolute MESS at tax time. I have spent dozens of hours on my crypto taxes, and I'm not managing to reconcile them, so now I'm going to have to spend a couple thousand dollars to get professional crypto tax support.

So, if you're already a sophisticated investor and/or you want to spend a lot of time learning the nuances of liquidity pools in great depth, this might be the course for you. If you're up for over-the-top complexity when you file taxes, go for it.

If you're just getting into crypto, you're probably better off just holding your tokens than trying to do even better with liquidity pools. You'll probably only amplify any losses by trying to win with liquidity pools.

If you only want to spend a few hours per week or less on crypto, don't try to do liquidity pools; just hold your crypto.

Take a low cost crypto course that teaches you the basics on udemy or something. Save yourself the money that this course costs to invest in crypto, and save yourself a tax nightmare.
