We recently had a combi-boiler installed and based on excellent reviews and initial communication, we had high expectations that were not met. In my opinion, there is a huge disconnect between the installers and Primetime themselves where, after paying such a substantial amount to have the work done, the quality and lack of care from the company was disappointing.
The biggest issue we had with Primetime Boilers was the positioning of the pipework from the boiler. As a result, our washing machine no longer fit under the counter where it once was. Our kitchen is already small so having a washing machine sticking out was less than ideal. The installer didn’t measure the space beforehand to ensure that the appliance could return to its position once the work was done. When questioned whether it would return, the installer responded with “I think so”.
As of writing this review, Primetime returned two weeks later to rectify the issue and the washing machine now fits where it once sat. Although, I was surprised when I mentioned to the second installer that I hope the washing machine would go back in its place, they replied with “that’s not my problem”. With the amount of money that we’ve spent to have this job done, I do not expect to be told that it’s not the company’s problem as to whether work they’ve done alters the spacing of our kitchen.
During the installation, the attitude the first installer had towards the job was not appropriate in the slightest. On multiple occasions they made comments such as “I wouldn’t have put this there” and “It’s not my house at the end of the day” when referring to the boiler. When the issue with the washing machine was raised, the installer said we could “wedge it in”. Not only was this unprofessional, but if it were able to be ‘wedged in’, wouldn’t the installer do this in the first place?
In addition to this, the Hive unit has been attached directly to our tiled wall without any prior discussion during the installation. We are unsure whether the tile has been drilled into or otherwise damaged. Based on the cable length, it appears the unit could have been installed on the painted wall above instead. We have received no comment from Primetime regarding this issue and it appears to have been ignored.
At one point during the day, shortly after the first installer had turned our water off, they announced that they needed to pop out. I assumed this was to get supplies but multiple hours quickly passed by with no sign of them. Three hours later, they returned and made us aware that they had been called to another job. This is not acceptable, particularly as it left us without water and contributed to the work extending into a third day, which we believe may have led to the job being rushed. This delay was further compounded by the boiler itself not arriving until approximately 11am on the first day, despite us being told in all prior communications that it would arrive before or at the same time as the installer to allow work to begin promptly.
Finally, the waste material and items were left outside our house on our front garden for 5 days. We were also misinformed regarding the duration of disruption. We were repeatedly told on the phone before the work started that we would only be without hot water and heating for a few hours on the first day. However, upon arrival, the installer informed us that we would be without both overnight. As we have a 5 month old baby, this misinformation was particularly concerning and caused unnecessary disruption.
Overall, we are disappointed with the service that was provided. While we appreciate that the work was carried out, the standard in which it was done did not feel like it matched the reviews and price we paid.
Very efficient boiler service
Thankyou Mark.

Fast and efficient install crew. Arrived on time in morning to fit new boiler. Boiler fitted and all mess cleared up and and gone by just after lunch. Although not the cheapest quote received I'm glad that I chose PTB to fit my new boiler.
