Impersonal and bland

Impersonal and bland. From the dour welcome to the indifferent service, there was nothing festive about this experience. The only small consolation was that the food was reasonable although served cold. We ate our lunch in a largely empty hall since everyone had been assigned meal times and nobody else had arrived yet. We were made to pre-order our meals no less than three weeks in advance (or presumably you didn't eat) which should have given them plenty of time to prepare. Service was poor with plates being handed to you instead of placed on the table and having to shout / wave to try and get their attention. Was it good value? NO. Would I go again? NO.

Used to be good

We had the Xmas menu. The food was edible but really bland. The gravy was gloopy and out of a packet. The portions were pretty small. It really wasn’t worth it the price. I’ve been going there for years and it has gone downhill dramatically. The staff are friendly enough but seemed a bit demotivated. The whole experience was flat. A great shame.

Awesome place from famous movie

Awesome place from famous movie. You may see the place in Guy's Richie's Gentlemen movie and it looks just the same.
I ordered beef and it was good. Normal prices - not high not cheap - the only thing that I don't like is the location - some 20mins walk from tube station. The bar/restaurant itself is very good.

As a wedding photographer

As a wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding celebration at the Princess Victoria. From the moment I stepped into the elegant horseshoe bar, I was blown away by the stunning atmosphere of this historic gin palace.

The venue boasts over 100 artisan and well-known gins, real ales and an excellent wine list that adds to its character. The dining room and private party room were just as impressive with its striking decor and elegant ambiance. The heated front terrace and rear courtyard garden provided a perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony and reception.

The food was top-notch, with the focus on using the best ingredients from small producers across the British Isles. The meat was of the highest quality and the Sunday roasts were free-range. The vegan and vegetarian dishes were surprisingly delicious and could convince even the toughest of carnivores.

The five luxurious bedrooms located on the top floor were an added bonus for the wedding party. Each room was individually designed, named after classic gin cocktails, and featured comfortable beds, bespoke gin-inspired artwork, Egyptian cotton linen, smart HD TVs, Nespresso machines, black-out blinds and mini-fridges.

Overall, the Princess Victoria proved to be an ideal venue for a wedding celebration. With its elegant and historic charm, exceptional food and drinks, and luxurious rooms, it made for a truly unforgettable and magical experience for the bride and groom and their guests.

Kindest regards
The Kensington Photographer
