Atrocious and unhelpful customer service
I am shocked by the extreme lack of professionalism and rudeness I experienced when trying to get a quotation.
I was asked for the design file PDF, which was not complete, so I tried to give bullet points of the requirements to receive a quotation. I received their call (they sent through a price but then proceeded to delete the message later) and when I gave the requirements she simply said "cannot cannot" and I asked what it was that was the problem (e.g. number of pages, type of binding, size) so that I could change the request but she just simply said "cannot" so I said thank you and ended the conversation. I received additional questions and then was asked about the budget, when I gave the budget the response was "good luck. I highly recommended that you may try to reach a printer in the third world." (copy+pasted). I was open to whatever the cost would have been but she did not provide me any alternatives and gave confusing statements (e.g. said I couldn't do 180 pages because it was too many but then said 400 pages was ok) and asking questions but not answering any of mine.
As a printer service provider, you cannot expect all your clients to be experts and know the exact cost of material or labour. If a request doesn't work then please provide an alternative or give solutions, don't attack the client. If a client suggests a budget that is too low, don't tell them "I told you to find a printer in Southeast Asia or Africa" (copy+pasted), instead explain that it is not a reasonable budget and suggest an appropriate budget.
