Awfully rude, aggressive communication

As an expat not knowing Dutch system, I took their flexible tax services to be able to ask a few questions. Ferhat, was rude, unprofessional, unhelpful in his response. Of course at some point I stopped communicating with this guy as it was very stressful but I needed to recheck something very small, simple. Instead of just replying, he sent page long aggressive reply again. He even follows up his own replies to mention how right he is! He simply wants to pick a fight!

Unprofessional communication and missed timelines

In our experience, the way this firm handled various situations was far from the level of professionalism typically expected from service providers in the Netherlands. While our initial interactions were positive, the quality of service declined significantly over time. We paid in advance for tax-related services but had to follow up repeatedly to receive even the most basic deliverables this year. Written confirmations were later contradicted, and when we followed up on them, our enquiries were met with a tone we experienced as rude, dismissive, and at some point even intimidating.

Our experience doesn’t seem to be isolated, as we later came across other reviews describing similar concerns. One review on Trustpilot even mentioned plans to file a complaint with the Dutch Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA). However, to the best of our knowledge at the time of this review, neither the firm nor its employees appear in the official NBA register, in the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (De Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs – NOB), or the Register of Tax Advisers (Register Belastingadviseurs – RB). This lack of formal oversight may unfortunately leave clients without clear escalation routes, which in itself is a reason for caution before engaging their services.

We ultimately decided to terminate our contract with this firm based on the issues described above. This review reflects our documented household experience and is shared in good faith to help others make informed decisions.

Stay away!

Stay away! I had a terrible experience with this company. I ordered the wrong tax service and emailed and called within 20 mins of making the order. They refused to give me a refund, or a credit note and were very rude. Stay away!

UPDATE 27/02/26 - Profinancials tried to get this review taken down by claiming it was not real. It has been verified by Trust Pilot. They have still not reached out, apologised or offered me a refund.

I used their service for more than a year. Here is a very honest review. You shall decide if this is for you or not. I will mention both positive and negative things based on my experience.

Pros: They do speak English and at the beginning quite cooperative to answer any of your queries. In terms of VAT returns and income tax quite accurate. The service was good as long as you don't ask questions that they don't like to answer.

Cons: They charge differently to different clients. As a freelancer, I have only one client and only a handful of VAT returns. However, they do charge differently to a similar type of clients that I found out only recently. I have friends who have the exact same profession as me with one client but they pay way less than me using their service. I don't mind paying more as long as this is the same for everyone or if there is a proper rationale behind this. Unfortunately, this is not the case. From their website, this is not clear how they charge to freelancers. If this varies based on paperwork then there shall be transparency about rates. This is, unfortunately, missing in their website. When I asked Profinancials to clarify about different rates, they did not give me any clear answer. Instead, their answer was if I don't like their service or want a cheaper rate then I shall look elsewhere. They also mentioned that they are not supposed to answer this. This is just one example of how they respond to customer queries. If you use their service, you will notice that at the beginning they are very helpful but over time, their tones will change. When I mentioned to them that I will not use their service from the following month and would like to report this to the local ex-pats community so that everyone knows how they treat their customers with different monthly rates and how they continue business with this kind of attitudes, they considered this as a threat and want to take legal action against me if necessary. They also terminated their service with immediate effect. So you decide whether you want to use their service or not.
If you don't bother about transparency or only want to use them for yearly tax returns or any other tax-related work then use their service. They are good at this. If you are a freelancer like me then please do your own research. I will try to raise awareness as I feel that everyone has the right to know whether they are treated fairly or not. I have nothing against them but the lack of transparency really bothers me.
