Prudential Annuities now sold to…

Prudential Annuities now sold to Fortitude RE. NO ONE from Prudential will return phone calls or emails. Complaints filed with the North Carolina Insurance Commissioner are answered with flat out LIES to cover their collective back ends. The sense is they will declare insolvency and walk away with investors money.

The "Comcast" of the American financial world

The "Comcast" of the American financial world. Do everything humanly possible to avoid this outfit and in particular, their Lancaster, PA field office and Evan Perets. Nothing more than a bunch of high-flying cut-throats who have no idea WTH they are doing. Horrible company with horrible employees

Prudential is an Untrustworthy Company

I’ve been a Prudential guaranteed universal life policyholder for over 50 years. Now that I’ve reached my late 70s I’ve seen major premium increases twice in the last five years. The most recent increase was an indecent 30%. The intent of these premium increases is clearly to force policyholders to drop their coverage before Prudential has to pay a claim. This is morally offensive. But give actuaries credit for their ability to slice and dice data to shareholder advantage.

Why bother

Why bother, looks like Prudential is ruining their business all on their own. Looks like they do not care either. I am just a small number compared to what they have done by themselves. Just shows I am wasting my time expecting them to fix my problem. With 1 star from nearly all the remarks I've seen, it won't be long now till stock drops etc, etc, etc.

Liars

four times I have called to make a claim on my father's estate the first time we were told all was good, we called a few weeks later, they mailed the check to the wrong address, but would mail another, two weeks after that, was told nothing had been done but check would be overnighted. Today 2 weeks later and the 4th person I could not undertand still no check has been mailed. One of my siblings got their check 7 weeks ago. this company is absolutely ridiculous, every phone call i had to start from scratch, why isn't all of this recorded in their files. Terrible company service

Impossible to get help

As I write this, I've been on hold for 30 minutes. I just need an answer to a simple question about my claim. These people have made it as hard as possible every step of the way.

This company is pathetic

This company is pathetic. It has "over paid" 3, yes three times since the start of my wife's leave and has requested payback of $2,034. This is a level of obsertity and bigotry that is not acceptable. You are well paid to ensure that your clients are taken care of during such delicate times of their lives and yet due to incompetence you have failed our family. Screw you.

I’ll never put another dime into this…

I’ll never put another dime into this company! The company I worked for, Yellow, went bankrupt & we were told 2 weeks ago were deemed terminated but for some reason we haven’t been updated in their system. It’s like they’re holding our money hostage, knowing this is the only means of survival that we have right now. Every time I call there’s a different excuse why or when the system will update. I would stay away from this company. Seems like a big scam to me!

Horrible Customer Service

If negative stars was an option I would have selected the most negative possible. Called 6 times today. Their phone lines are horrible and I was unable to understand 5 of the 6 people I spoke with. None of them were able to help with my login issue. Kept passing me to another department. Had enough.
Just put in papers to pay the surrender fee and get away from this jacked up company. Should be illegal.

If negative was a star

If negative was a star, Predential is literally the worse company I’ve ever paid into. I had Predential 5 yrs and when I need them the most they let me down. I’m currently out of town with an operation that been scheduled but due to the negligence of Predential not sending my check out direct deposit, I’m literally in another states, still waiting a mailed check. When I called in they told me it’s nothing they can do until 10 days but canceling a check take 8 mins. I asked to speak with management the refused. Help Help

Shame on you Prudential! Horrible customer support

Where do I start? All of the negative reviews documented here are spot on - very poor audio, paperwork always lost, staff not trained, technology hopelessly outdated, no respect for long-term customers who paid premiums their entire adult lives. Why can’t customers download forms online like any other large company in the 21st century? Oh wait, because the forms library is either unavailable or they deactivate your account. Good luck trying to get it activated again or trying to reach someone in customer service to email a simple statement.

No communication

Applied for a policy through Policygenius (who, for their part, we're pretty decent). Prudential had an exhausting process and finally declined coverage over a concern I made them aware of at the very beginning. Very disappointed in their lack of organization. We didn't even find out from them or policy genius, but from a 3rd party. So apparently communication isn't a priority.

Emailed power of attorney documents

Emailed power of attorney documents and was denied access. Was told I needed a letter from the doctor stating the nature of the illness(this is a stipulation in the POA). So I emailed that in but because I did not email them together access was denied. Even with all that, they still will not talk to me on the phone. I have to put all my questions in the same email that includes the other two documents. I asked what if after I get all that information I find out I have more questions and was told I have to go through the whole process again. They have to be reading from a CSR script and a poorly written one at that. Horrible experience....

What a Difference Three Years Makes -- for the Worst

In 2020 I had exceptional Customer Service when cash surrendering one of my mom's three life policies. I was made owner that year when she went into a nursing facility. The cash was to supplement her staying in a private room. Fast-forward to 2023 and I need to cash out another one of the two remaining policies because she has been blessed with living longer than the doctors predicted and I want to keep her in a private room. Now the call center is off-shore. They insisted I did not own the policies, despite my having a LETTER FROM PRUDENTIAL CONFIRMING MY OWNERSHIP. My local Pru agent/contact sent me documentation confirming ownership and cash values. I called again to cash surrender and was told I was not owner. I insisted I get satisfaction. I was put on hold to talk to a supervisor. Same agent came back and said I had to make the request in writing. I told her, just like last time, send me the form, I send it back, you send me the check. She kept repeating something barely intelligible about making the request is writing. I gave up and hung up and my local agent is sending me the correct forms. Please move the call center back to America. The connection is barely clear besides all the uncooperative "help." What is unfortunate is I am busy engaging a senior financial planner at Pru to help me with retirement. I hope I won't be sorry with my decision.

I am at my wit's end

I am at my wit's end. My father passed away and I am trying to transfer assets. Each time I speak with someone, they give me a different answer. I sent in Power of Attorney documents and was able to conduct business one day, and the next, they claim they have no such documentation on file.

Then I sent in two claim forms in one email (they said I could do this). They contacted me then next day with a correction to be made on one contract. I complied as instructed. Then I was told no, that wasn't correct, and now I have to apply for an EIN with the IRS, which they claimed I could quite easily do online. Well, in my case I have to complete an IRS form, go find a fax machine and then wait for the IRS response before I can continue. This is causing further delays at a time when my mother has no income.

Since I had not heard back on the second claim, I assumed it was in process. I am on hold now, with a representative. She tells me that they have no claim form for the second contract. Eventually, she acknowledge that it was overlooked. These ineptitudes are not only frustrating, they have financial impacts. Never ever will I do business with Prudential again.
