Due to the Brexit my order got sent back to the UK, UPS Facility (every day they scan their packages). My package haven't been scanned for 15 days now and when I kindly ask if they can contact UPS to check what happened to my product, they stop answering my mails.

With regards to the Brexit/UPS issue, we are currently doing all we can to pressure UPS to get these missing orders sorted out. Our account with UPS is electronically linked, meaning that they have access to all the details for expot/import and customer contact they need to get your product delivered. However, UPS have seriously dropped the ball with a number of orders from our customers and we have been in constant touch with our reps here in the UK, as well as the international offices, to try to get to the bottom of these discrepancies.

If a customer gets in touch about a missing order, we immediately speak to our reps here and ask them to either identify the location or initiate an investigation. The investigation normally takes a few days, but in recently months since Brexit this has taken 2 weeks before we have received replies from UPS. If UPS come back to us and say that the parcel is lost, we can then send out a replacement. However, if they say that it's still in transit, then there's nothing we can do except wait and pressure the local UPS offices to get it delivered.
Thankfully this is happening much less often now, and delivery times for the EU are around 5 -7 days now, with 7-10 days for international orders.

Absolute Must For Calisthenic Fans

Have previously sort ‘pull up’ apparatus, but, until ANOTHER lockdown, had happily been able to use gyms. Alas, with nowhere having reasonably priced weights & equipment, I returned to Pull Up Mate, whose stock levels had grown & bagged myself a very versatile & well produced piece of calisthenic kit that a multitude of exercises (especially with dip bar package included) can be performed.
Throughout the initial enquiry contact & order advice received from Ben & Martin their customer was second to none. The construction of the equipment is so simple, no spanners, screwdrivers or Allen keys required & the inclusion of an excellent hold all to take the equipment anywhere with you is testament to the design & manufacture... used it already & it’s exactly what I wanted (Great colours for a Utd fan too!!!)

I've been coveting the Pull Up Mate…

I've been coveting the Pull Up Mate long before the Pandemic. But it wasn't until the lockdowns that I really regret not buying one when I had more disposable income. I thought it was generally affordable but money in general was extra tight with Covid.

That said, my missus surprised me with the Pull Up Mate 1 (with bag) and I squealed like a little boy on Christmas day. Using a sack of flour, a band and furniture for some body weight excercises eventually hit its plateau. I also really wanted to start progressing in my calisthenics and gymnasty.

The Pull Up Mate is versatile, rigid, and dynamic. I love how there are multiple ways to use the kit other than the obvious. Every "mode" of the clattering but rigid system allows for all progressions. My dream is to get to do false grip pulls and muscle ups, and I appreciate the thought behind the rubber pads on the corners allowing multiple ways to orient the system.

The pins/locks are innovative and very clever. They look flimsy but they hold the kit in place better than i thought it would. Naturally there are some clattering sounds but it doesn't indicate the kit's weakness or instability. I reckon the stronger and better I am with my movements, the more I can control the amount of shaking and noise.

Overall, I cancelled my gym membership (for now) since I'm not sure when and how we'll be back hitting the weights. But honestly even if it opens up, I think my push, pull and gymnastic progression are solved with this kit. Once I'm ready to move to human flag poles and muscle-up for reps, I'll graduate to the Pull Up Mate 2.

I highly recommend.

Pullupmate 2

My first experience was similar as the one Bruno mentioned in his review of 16 Dec 2020. Some small parts where missing, misalignment of some holes and quality between similar parts was different. Initially it took some time to figure things out through support but I also believe we as a customer should give some credit here in pandemic times like these. At a certain point in time I began to worry if things would become OK but eventually Pullupmate took ownership and I have the feeling this company definitely holds it word and will do what it promised, which is something I appreciate a lot. Used the product now for +- 2 weeks and I am really happy with it; maybe some small things which could be better but I can live with them: eg. when in the ‘dip-setup’, the holes for the side supports of the pull up mate don’t really align and it seems not possible to put the clips in; I have the feeling this isn’t really an issue as it doesn’t pops out, hope this will stay the case after some usage. But in general: it feels stable, portability and speed of (dis-)assembly is amazing and the bags which come with the product feel of great quality. Also like the fact they post new (training) videos on social media frequently. This gives an active community experience which I do enjoy. To summarize; some room for improvement but I would recommend the Pullupmate 2 for sure! 🙏

Pull up mate

Ordered one of these as I always feel like doing sets of pull ups while I'm at home, without feeling like I want to go to the gym. Very mobile and practical. Had an issue with a missing part and customer service team had sorted this straight away without any fuss. I have been using the pull up mate for a month without any issues. Takes around 4 or 5 mins to assemble which is great. Will be definitely adding on their parts for expending my use of the pull up mate

Pull Up Mate 2 - Severe defects and missing parts - Finland Customer

UPDATE 1 - DECEMBER 30TH, 2020 (FOR ORIGINAL REVIEW SCROLL DOWN - WORTH YOUR TIME)
So I received a reply from their team stating that they would sent the missing parts only (the pins) so I could put the Mate 2 together, and that only then, if the holes still didn't align, they would look into sending replacement for the defective parts.
I replied back stating that the part they sent with the EXTRA UNNECESSARY HOLES that serve no purpose but to weaken the structure should be replaced regardless, as it is CLEARLY defective and as their promise was that they would do so if that was the case, at no extra cost to me.
Days passed and no one replied back. After almost a week and 3 emails of mine a different person replied, Ben, whom you can see also replying below to this review.
Initially he apologized for the delay, explained the reasons (holidays, logistics, covid, etc.) and conceded that although in his opinion this defect didn't affect the integrity of the structure (which is debatable) the part was clearly defective and would be replaced, and that I should get information of the process that same afternoon. This was on the 22nd of December, I wrote back with thanks.
On the 24th I still hadn't received the update he talked about 2 days ago so I wrote back.
He replied back on the 28th, once again apologizing for the delays with the same reasons as before. This time however and to my surprise he took back the fact that the part we were talking about before was considered defective, saying that "he consulted with his team and all Pull Up Mates come with this same extra holes" therefore it's not defective. Well I gotta say that even if this was true (which is not, since I checked many videos, photos and reviews and no such extra purposeles holes are seen on any other sets) just because your whole production comes with a manufacturing defect it doesn't make it a feature, it just means you have a widespread problem.
I replied back basically saying that I would not allow them to change the narrative of what was actually happening with my order. The order arrived INCOMPLETE and DEFECTIVE from the beginning, a fact that was shown in the pictures I took and that was agreed upon by them on email (and that I have, as proof). And that it was on everyone's best interest that they stop wasting energy trying to alter the facts and put it into getting my replacement parts to me, since now it will be close to a month since I placed my order and I still have an INCOMPLETE, DEFECTIVE and UNUSABLE Pull Up Mate 2.
Now I'm waiting to hear back about where are my parts and when will they arrive (if at all).

I will keep you guys updated once I hear from them.

ORIGINAL REVIEW - DECEMBER 16TH, 2020
First impression, it arrived in Finland with a damaged box. One of the parts of the Mate was sticking through it. Probably UPS fault, but who can say.
As soon as I opened the bag I noticed both the Manual and ALL safety pin clips were missing, they never shipped them with my Mate at all. Definitely not UPS fault.

I carefully manage to put it together regardless, so I can inspect the hole alignment, which I read was an issue for quite a few people here. Two pieces of my Mate have SEVERE hole alignment issues which would definitely stop me from putting a pin clip through (that is if I had them).
On top of that, one of the faulty pieces has an extra set of holes randomly placed at the end of the bar that serve no purpose, and only make the joint/structure weaker and a total eye sore to look at. No extra holes like those are found in any other piece.
Metal thickness between similar/identical parts also varies, if to a point of structural failure I cannot know.
Overall, quality control seems to be non-existent so far.

I photographed, measured and documented all defects and the corrections necessary to make the replacement parts work. Took me over 3 hours to compile everything into an understandable email that they can use to correct the issues.

Now I'm waiting for customer service to reply back, since they only communicate through email, although based on this site's reviews, communication with them when finding an issue with your Mate also seems to be a difficult matter.

They were quick to reply when I was enquiring before purchasing, and at that stage they also informed me that defective/missing parts would be replaced at no cost to me, and that I could dispose of the defective ones without having to ship them back (which would be expensive). Let's see if they stand by their word.

I will come back to report with developments.

Thanks for your feedback. I understand you reported the issues with your product on the same day you left this review, so I believe that the replacements are being processed and should be sent out to you very soon (I expect they were sent yesterday, but if not, it will be today). Providing the freight situation in the UK at the moment doesn't cause any issues, you should receive your clips, manual, and a replacement brace within a few days.

With regards to the hole alignment issues you've mentioned, I can assure you that when you first put the item together without clips any alignment issues are compounded. It's only when clips are added that you'll notice that it's easier to put together than you imagine. Obviously with the way the item is designed, it may take a bit of wiggling to get a pin into a hole. This is better than the alternative - which is larger holes with more play and less stability. It's a design feature we've decided to stick with to improve stability. Yes that makes it more difficult to set up first, but we believe our customers generally appreciate this and are happy with what it means.

Regarding the damaged box, clearly we wouldn't dispatch an item with a gaping hole ripped in the corner. Each box weighs 17Kgs for the Pull Up Mate 2, so if boxes aren't managed carefully, then damage can occur. We do what we can to minimise this situation, but it can happen with international shipping due to the processes items go through.

I do hope that you receive your replacements soon and you can let us know how you get on. We do hope we can make this up to you.

Great bit of kit

Very good price, turned up quickly, easy to put together and sturdy. Now I can do pull ups and chin ups whilst the gym is closed. Bang on! And its British!

Bad product and even worse support

Here my terrible experience:
- I received the product (in time) and when trying to assemble it I realized that the materials are of poor quality and badly designed, so that all the pieces did not actually fit with each others.
- I sent several emails to the support team asking for changing the misfit bars or for refund.
- They replied quickly to my first two emails saying they will let me know with some delays, as the company is undergoing some structural changes.
- They did not reply to my next emails.

All in all it is a poor product (considering the cost) and the support is null.

Defective product with NO customer service

WARNING
The worst company I have ever had the misfortune to have dealings with.
Customer service does not seem to be in their vocabulary !
If you are going to do any business with Pull Up Mate, use a CREDIT CARD not a debit card.
They do not answer their telephones or respond to complaint emails.
The Pull Up Mate ordered and delivered to me on 28 August 2020 was faulty and could not be assembled.
I immediately sent an email to them which was not answered.
I therefore called the company on the telephone number printed on the delivery note and web site 16 times. The phone was never answered and after a few minutes rang out.
I sent a further three emails which again were not answered. At this point, in desperation, I blocked the payment through my bank. The day the company discovered that my payment was blocked, I finally received a phone call from Paul, a manager at Pull Up Mate, who had been asked to call me and ask why the payment had been blocked. He said that he had not seen my emails but had been asked by his accounts department to call me. On hearing why I had blocked the payment, he read my emails and viewed the photos of the unfinished and unusable frame. He offered me a 30% discount if I kept the frame and had it repaired myself. The repair quote was very nearly as much as the cost of the new frame. He said he would speak to his boss about a good will discount on another new frame. He called back later that day to say that his boss just wanted the faulty frame returned and was unwilling to offer any compensation as a gesture of good will for all the trouble and inconvenience caused by their terrible service.
It would appear that the only way that you can receive after sales service from Pull Up Mate is by your card company blocking the payment. Then they call you immediately.
The company Pull Up Mate appears to be a subsidiary of another company named A H Digital Limited at least that is the email address that gets through to Paul.
After thirty-five years in business, I have never dealt with company less customer centred than Pull Up Mate.
I have now found a very similar product from another manufacturer. The people I spoke to there were very helpful and happy to deal personally with their customers.
My advice to anyone interested in this product is……. Don’t stop looking ! Find another frame. There are plenty out there. As nice as the Pull Up Mate is, It’s just not worth the hassle and stress of having to deal with this uncaring and unprofessional company.

Regarding your issue, the first record we have of contact from you was the 29th August mentioning an issue you identified with the Pull Up Mate you received. Unfortunately, your email coincided with a bank holiday weekend, and somehow was missed by our customer service team due to the volume of emails we received over that period. This is no eexcuse, however.
Your follow up email dated the 7th September was then actioned, and I believe you discussed the issue over the telephone.

You requested for us to refund you the full amount paid if you returned the product, which would have been fine. However, you then asked for us to send out a replacement, and then invoice you with 30 day payment terms which you would settle if you were satisfied. Clearly we can't offer these payment terms to retail sales, and you at no point mentioned that the product was for business use, so we could only refuse that request.

This small issue aside, we certainly did drop the ball with regards to providing you with a product that you would be satisfied with. A replacement part would have solved the problem completely, so I am not sure why this wasn't actioned immediately. We will be initiating an internal review on our processes because of this so as not to have this same situation repeated in the future.

I realise that there's nothing we can do to make this up to you now. But I do offer a complete apology for the misunderstanding and poor handling of your case.

Excellent customer service

Recently ordered my pull up mate and was informed it would take 7-10 working days to arrive. On the 10th day I emailed to double check it had been dispatched to find it turned up the very next day.

Had a nice big sturdy bag to fit all the bits in and all parts have a great gloss finish.

Had a slight issue with the pole holes not quite lining up so I emailed customer services to which Paul and Jenny were both very quick and polite with their responses and solutions.

All in all could not fault the customer service from them both.

Communication with customers could improve

Don't particularly like posting a negative review but I think people need to aware of what they might be getting into if they order from this company. Also hoping that they make some changes to their customer service processes as a result. Unfortunate scenario in some way but have a read through in case you have any reservations about ordering from them.

Right here goes...

Ordered a pull up mate package on a Sunday evening, received an automated response confirming receipt of the order and that dispatch would be 7-10 working days. On reflection decided that actually I wanted to add in an extra piece of equipment (i.e. expand on my order).

Figured that shouldn't be an issue since they were unlikely to have dispatched yet. Called the phone number stated on the website at around 11am, no answer simply dialled out. Tried a couple more times on the Tuesday morning, each time it dialled out.

Emailed late on the Tuesday afternoon, customer service replied early on the Wednesday morning. They explained that once an order had been placed you couldn't modify if, but I could cancel the order and place a new one. I was happy with that and emailed back in about two hours on the Wednesday morning to request a cancellation.

Two days pasted by...didn't hear a thing back via email. On the Friday morning I received a text message from the courier stating that my order would be delivered that afternoon!

I called the number on the website again... dialled out. In my concern, I emailed the customer service again, in the hope that they would reply, stating that I had asked for the order to be cancelled and that I would not take receipt of the deliver. No reply came. My Wife contacted them on Facebook, surprise surprise almost immediately they replied to my email!

They said that should I refuse to take delivery of the order they would charge me for the delivery cost and the cost of the return. I emailed back and said that I didn't think this was acceptable given that they had said earlier in the week that I could cancel and simply reorder. I refused the order and let them know by email.

Shortly after they decided to give me a call. In fairness the representative was very polite and helpful. Apparently the boss of the company said I could have a refund but I would be charged the delivery cost. I still didn't think this was acceptable and said no, outlining my reasons (had been offered the opportunity to cancel as detailed above). I explained that I had been calling for a number of days. They claimed that the telephone number was brought to their attention earlier in the week and the website person needed to take it down, but he is currently on holiday. (I don't think they were being honest because other reviews here on trust pilot point to this number not working... and that dates back to around May). The representative explained that the reason they hadn't been able to cancel my order was because it had already been dispatched prior to me asking for a cancellation, whilst I was understanding of this but pointed out that they had told me a cancellation was possible via email. They explained that was a mistake. They also explained that at the point of dispatch an email gets automatically generated, I said I didn't receive such an email (they said that they would look into this, and have it rectified, not sure how that helps me though).

Either way, given the number not being in operation, the misinformation regarding being able to cancel and the lack of dispatch confirmation email I still felt that I should not bare the cost of the delivery and return. It was explained to me that representative did not have the authority and the Boss would not allow it.

I explained that I would be happy to speak to the "Boss". I was told that he was busy right now but would be in contact within the hour, didn't hear a thing and it was getting close to 5pm on a Friday so I followed up with an email. (Randomly I was also given the Boss' personal mobile phone number, at the time I thought that was a bit strange. Reading reviews here it seems that they actively criticise the customers who call him on his phone).

After some persistence and explanation of the above the customer service team will be issuing me with a full refund. Currently awaiting the refund.

A couple of points to mention, not in defence, but more to help explain things:

- We currently do not have a customer support telephone number. All support issues are handled electronically by emails and an internal ticketing system.
- As you highlighted, you should receive an email notifying you of dispatch of your order. In the UK we send items by APC; worldwide we use UPS. Unfortunately, because of a large influx of orders, your email asking to cancel was missed before the item was dispatched. That's not your fault, as you weren't to know.
- Because your issue was a special case, you were given the mobile number of one of the directors so that you could get in touch directly. We're a small company and do care about our customers, so are happy to speak directly to customers in situations like this.

Amazing product!

Amazing product, sturdy, so many exercises can do with it, if you either give it a Google or are inventive enough. When it's out in the garden my kids are even doubling it up as a climbing frame and doing some pull-ups too. My only regret is not buying one sooner, having it for all of lockdown would have been great

An excellent product that arrived…

An excellent product that arrived within 5 working days, less than the 7-10 days that they said on the confirmation email which was great.

It comes with a very useful storage bag and only takes a few minutes to put up and down again.

While it does wobble a bit during use, it's more than sturdy enough for someone 6ft 2. Not just pull ups but you can also take off the top bars to do dips or lay it on its side for press ups and other exercises. Very versatile in that you can do a lot of different exercises with it.
Overall the best bit of kit I've bought during this pandemic and I'd highly recommend it.
