Good service, packaging, shipping, quality

I ordered the pull up mate a few months ago. The shipping to the Netherlands was fast, I could use the product within a week of ordering.

The quality of the pull up mate feels good. It's easy and quick to change the setup and do other exercises. The product stands firm, you can do pretty wild exercises without having to be afraid that it will fall over.

If anyone is doubting this product, I'd recommend to stop doubting and pull the trigger :).

Pullupmate Review

Great piece of kit for home workout; light compact with minimal storage space required.
I have included a cargo strap that I use to hold the base together- it always came apart when I flipped the frame to do pushups.
feels slightly unwieldy when doing pullups, but I hope to overcome this discomfort as I get more familiar with the unit.

Pullupmate

Recently moved and wasn't able to fix anything into ceilings or the like. Pullupmate has been really beneficial and I've been able to utilise pull-up bars for various things. Have gymnastic rings, punchbag and reaction ball attached for an added dimension to my workouts.
Great product

Pull Up Mate is a Game-Changer

I live in France but am from the UK. I knew from past experience that doing pullups is one of the best compound exercises you can do, but the cost of getting a pullup station in France was ridiculous.

I ordered the upgraded version and got it shipped to France at an extremely good rate.

When I last did pullups and dips, I was using gym equipment which allowed you to make the exercise easier. Doing so with no assistance has been a game changer in my training. Not only are the pullups making me stringer and giving me gains in my biceps and upper back, they are also giving me insanely big stomach muscles! Triple bonus!

I love my Pull Up Mate and have already recommended it to friends and family.

If I had the space (not that it's big) I would get another so I had a permanent dip and pullup station.

Average - felt quite expensive for quality of material

The product was well packed as expected.
The item is great for lots of different exercises and is really good for building core strength and losing weight. Whether you want a short fat busting workout or you want a long circuit training targeting lots of different exercises - the pull up mate is very versatile.

I do enjoy using the pull up mate - I mainly use it for pull ups alone as I have other equipment for the other areas of the body that can be utilised by pull up mate.

My only downside is that I felt as the produce was quite expensive i would have thought especially I am under the Max weight, I thought it wouldn't bend. However after about 5 months of use , the bar is slightly bent. It hasn't bent much, but for the price I would have gathered it to be more robust and rigid , but then I guess you wouldn't have the functionality.

Overall it is a really good useful piece of gear - lightweight, easily stored/ fold up and lots of difference exercises - only downside the quipment feels a little timid.

Useless

If you buy this item, you probably want to train home. When I say "home", I mean an apartment without a garage, maybe your rest room. If you have enough space (garage) you can buy any standalone pull up bar without needing a portable one. Setting up pull up mate is noisy, noisy, noisy. Pull up mate is unstable, constantly shaking when you work out. To Do a single pull up you need more core engagement than with any other bar in any gym. I could write more but english is not my mother tongue and I prefer quitting... waste of money.

Reply from Pull Up Mate

Hi Giovanni, I am sorry that you feel this way. With enough practise you should find that the Pull Up Mate is stable, and the fact that it is portable means that it works your core and forces you to use the correct form. We do also offer a 14 day period in which you could return your product for a refund if it does not meet your expectations. Thank you.

Good product, improvable

It's a good product overall, quite easy to carry around or to put it together and dismantle after exercise. Just a little bit unstable, I weight ca. 92 KG, it works well but could be a little less unstable.

Great piece of kit

My initial requirement was a self-standing pull up bar, capable of being stored away after each and every workout.
The tedium of unpacking and packing the pull up bar (and other kit) for each and every workout, meant that I needed a bar that can be put up and taken down in mere seconds. Additionally, I wanted a bar that didn't have much sway, was very sturdy and, ideally, was portable. Basically, I wanted the Earth. Pull Up Mate was narrowed down against a competitor; owing to price, ease to put up and take down, portability (weight), look and suggested service, Pull Up Mate won.
The system can be put up and taken down in around 60 seconds, it's sturdy enough (I weigh 77 kilos) and has very little sway, so long as you're conducting pull ups with good technique instead of the cross-fit style 'kipping'. It's light and breaks down into very manageable parts, making it ideal for travelling business trips! No tools are required for assembly. The width and girth of the grip mean that the initial pull up can be more difficult than expected. However, this only adds to further back development and really isolates your lats, as opposed to allowing biceps to become too involved.
The overall price of the system was higher than I would have liked, but owing to the multi-setup of the system (dips, press ups, abs, etc...), along with ease of setup and take down, it is certainly justified. All parts are machined to a good quality, with only a little oil required to reduce friction on the parts that slot into one another. Overall service seemed good, no more or no less than expected - I had no need to contact the service centre and was kept adequately informed of shipment delivery. I would have liked to have seen free postage, owing to the overall expense of the item.
Overall, a great package and very versatile. I highly recommend!

Good

A good piece of kit, slightly sturdier would make it a 5 star. Still very happy with purchase.

Works as advertised

I bought 2 of them, one for me, on for a friend. This review is an aggregate.
I'm closer to a 4 star review, the other person wants a 3, comments about it:
First the good stuff:
- it works as advertised, I'm glad I bought it. Very fast to install/disassemble, can be flipped to various positions for various exercises. I couldn't find another product that does this
- Seems like it will last

Cons:
- Both of the pull up bards emanated a strong smell (it changed the smell of the room it was installed in) from the rubber pads that keep it from damaging the surface you lay it on; the smell goes away after a while, you can find many tips and tricks online on how to get rid of it (I just waited it out while making sure the room was well ventilated - will take a few days, probably more than one week)
- It is not "block of concrete" steady, it will wobble (more if you don't have good posture and strength) - but it's not dangerous, it will take any abuse you throw its way
- my friend comments that the top bar is a bit to thick for gripping (he uses some powder to reduce slippage).
- seems a bit pricey

good but some friction

I don't like that the structure rolls a bit when I do pull up and it's not very easy to change the configuration because some holes for blocking pins are not aligned
