Puma conquest safety boots

I purchased a pair of puma conquest Safety boots at a cost of £90. Within a week then velcro strap that stops the side zip from coming down failed rendering the boots unsafe and unwearable. Contact was made, pics and video were submitted as requested and the outcome was to return the boots for inspection. How can a tradesman return his safety boots and still work? He can't. I suggested they send another pair, pay with my card which would be placed on hold and return the boots. No they couldn't do that apparently but I could purchase a 2nd pair another £90 and after inspection had took place at some point(no time frame given on this inspection)I would be reimbursed within/up to 10 days later.
I ended up un stitching the velcro and buying some stick on velcro which solved the problem for a while.
After 6 months they started to get uncomfortable and fall apart so lesson learnt, expensive boots are not always the right way to go.
To sum up
Ridiculously poor customer service from a big brand name selling overpriced boots with poor quality control that I will never purchase from again in the future.
