Bad experience with Puretimewatch88 - Sea-Dweller
I originally placed an order with PureTimeWatch88.io for a Sea-Dweller 126600 VSF 1:1 Best Edition 904L SS Case and Bracelet VS3235 on July 9, 2025 and received the QC pics on July 11. The watch appeared functional and good quality so I paid for the order using a credit card. I received the watch on July 23 and immediately discovered the watch was not operating after winding it. PureTime requires buyers to pay for all return shipping, so I had to spend $40USD to return the brand new watch to them the next day, July 24 for repair.
PT confirmed receipt of the returned watch on August 19. On September 15, PT stated, “Kindly be informed that we have repaired your watch well and will monitor it for few more time and ensure that the watch can work very well before shipping back to you.” and on Sept 16, “We returned the watch to maker and they repair it. We will test it for you before shipping back to you.”
On September 24, PT emailed a shipping tracker number and I received the repaired watch on October 1. Upon inspecting the watch, there was a lot of friction and a grinding feel when I attempted to wind the watch. I was able to change the date and time, but had great difficulty simply winding the watch. I immediately contacted PT and their response was, “You can repair it in your local watch shop if the repair fee is not high or you want to ship back to us again. Our colleague has checked the watch for you before shipping back to you already. If it is not working well, only can ship back to us again. Really sorry about this happened.”
Based on PT's instructions, I brought the watch to a watch shop. After opening the case and inspecting the watch, they told me that the winding pinion was broken and needed to be replaced. They were unable to perform this repair and instructed me that only the manufacturer can replace the pinion for this watch. PT directed me to once again, pay shipping of $40USD to return the watch to them a 2nd time and wait another 70 days to receive it again.
PT will not issue me a refund even after sending me a broken watch twice and I do not want to spend another $40 to return the watch. I do not believe the movements they use are quality or that they inspect the watches for function before shipping. I have zero faith in this supposed “Trusted Dealer”, so consider my experience before placing an order with PureTimeWatch88.io. My only recourse is that I used a credit card to purchase the watch and so should you if you want to avoid the same problems I experienced.
