Rated 1 out of 5 stars

total scam and useless app

Subscribed to 6-month plan, reached out to hosts, mostly no one responded, and those who did only responded days later saying they can't host. Awful experience, asked for refund and cancellation from support team, they didn't respond, six months later they again deducted renewed subscription fee from my bank account, even though I explicitly emailed them about cancellation and refund. I again have emailed them for cancellation and refund, so far no response. Total scam and useless app.

Unresponsive support

I was excited to join this community, thinking we shared similar values and interests. After a decade on CS, where I had over 200 positive reviews but few like-minded guests, I was eager to connect with someone new. In my profile, I mentioned I like simple people with a positive attitude. Before hosting my first guest, we had a long video call where I explained the rules of my home, including the German custom of showering on the first day of arrival. However, when he arrived, he was reluctant to shower, and I'm not sure if he even used the towel I lent him. He also expected me to feed him, so we went shopping for food that was supposed to be shared, but he ended up taking everything for himself. When we met people interested in buying my car, he wanted to join the test drive, and I had to sit in the back. Unfortunately, the buyer was inexperienced, and we had to cut the test drive short. My guest didn't apologize or show appreciation, and at home, he barely spent time with me. He left a day early, and I felt like I had hosted a paying hotel guest rather than someone I knew. Weeks later, he sent me a message criticizing my home decor and accusing me of being patriarchal. He also wrote a long essay on femininity and patriarchy, which I found thought-provoking, but he used it to attack me personally. I felt he was prejudiced and didn't respect our agreement. He didn't respond to my concerns, instead, he left negative feedback and got my profile banned without verifying the facts.
