This radio is nowhere near to having the capabilities of the Tecsun PL-990x or the Sangean ATS-909X2. It is a small radio that has (more or less) all the features that a shortwave radio hobbyist would like when out-and-about. The sound from the speaker is adequate for personal use; it doesn't produce clear, room-filling sound. The small buttons make it difficult to make it a proper lean, mean dxing machine. It comes with a USB charging cable, but no plug. Radioworld's service was superb. They shipped my radio promptly and it arrived the next day well packaged and in good working order.
