Battery broken, bad warranties and poor customer support

I have only had my bike for 2.5 years and the battery completely died on me. My bike is kept indoors year round and is ridden 1x/wk. there is no reason why my battery should have died. My parents have had their electric bikes for 6 years and have never had a battery issue…and they are kept in their hot garage. After doing quite a bit of research everything says Rads warranty on their batteries is only a year. I think this is BS. For buying a $3000 bike that’s main function is solely based on this battery seems like the warranty should be better. Also, I have contacted Rad for customer support in the past and they were not helpful. I would recommend getting your bike through a company with better warranties and that has helpful customer support.

What about your customers in Europe?

I am a big fan of Rad Runner 2; it is possibly the best bike I have ever owned. I would like to thank the engineers and developers for their excellent work. But that's not what this is about.
I don't understand why SEO companies make such terrible decisions as to completely withdraw from Europe. Why did you guys create your market in Europe and then abandon everything to fate? What about your customers in Europe? What are they supposed to do now? Where can they buy spare parts? I'm not even asking about the bikes themselves and where to buy them... what about the owners of your bikes? This is a despicable act! It's just spitting in your customers' faces! Shame on you!

The worst

The worst! I bought the commuter 6 years ago and it was problem after problem. It used to just brake on its own. I'd be rushing to work and it would brake on the Williamsburg bridge and I have to stop and try to fix it!
They sent me like 3 controllers, I took it to a professional to install the last controller and it was still malfunctioning. Now I feel the steering start to torque left and right when I brake. Never buy from this company!

Believe what they say about customer service sucking.

I bought their top of the line bike because it was the one E bike that met my accessibility needs. After taking the bike in for recommended service, and with less than 100 miles on it, the controller went out. Which left me walking uphill, pushing this very heavybike home. They sent me a new controller, sure, except it's more than twice the size of the previous one and doesn't fit into the tube. Rad's solution was to send and resend the same instructions, which in no way addresses the fact that their new replacement controller does not fit. Pressed further they cheerfully said I could take this 500 pound doorstop into a shop or have a mobile bike shop come out. Of course the application for the mobile option is an endless loop of BS, making it not an option at all.

Rad. It rhymes with "bad" for a reason.

Terrible bikes

Terrible bikes, replacement parts are ALWAYS out of stock. Just look at the company, they've gone through so many rounds of layoffs and a really sad lawsuit. You're better off going with a better brand.

Very very bad..

Very very bad... very bad.... It broke after 7 months , then another issue after 2 years then after 2 years and 3 months. And it is going and going and going.... After 2 years you need to buy replacements of Battery, wires, brakes etc. yourself with 50EUR delivery fee at least within Europe. No support , no refunds , no returns... really very disappointed. Money wasted

Never again

I had 2 radmission bikes that were fine, but when I had problems, the company was a hassle to work with. When I bought a radrunner, the bike started having problems right away. The electric mechanisms are in the worst place so water not only splashes up but also pools down into the motor and battery packs. The bike started malfunctioning after the first quick trip I took in the rain. Support sucks, engineering sucks, company sucks.

EU Support is a joke

I used to really appreciate my RAD bike, but I began experiencing issues with Error 25 on the display screen, causing the bike to malfunction. The speed would drop abruptly from 15 mph to 0, leaving me unable to do anything until restarting the bike to get it moving again.

That’s when the real nightmare began with EU support. Although the bike is still under warranty, they seem to intentionally slow down the communication process to avoid sending replacement parts for free. They come across as very reluctant to help and make it clear that you’re not their priority. Their attitude is completely different from when they were eager to persuade me to buy the bike. I’m absolutely furious with them.

If i could give -100 stars I would.

If i could give -5 stars I would.

I am a retailer and paid for a replacement key for a customer 115 days ago and it has still not been sent. My customer has been unable to charge their bike (they live on 7th floor with no lift) for 4 months! Every time customer service replies, they change the date of expected shipping by 2 weeks. That date arrives and they pretend it will ship again in 2 weeks. The most incompetent customer service I have ever received for a company. Avoid Rad like the plague.

Terrible

Terrible. I was an early adopter of Rad Power bikes in 2020 and had no issues with the two bikes that we originally purchased.
I moved in 2022 and bought a Rad City 5 and we have had two error 30 controller issues in less than 300 miles. Terrible quality. The bike shop we went to said that they had half a dozen rad power repairs for the same issue that month. At this point I don’t even want to pay to get it fixed because I know it will break again.
Do not buy Rad Power.

Horrible products and service

If you enjoy having to assemble 2 bikes because the first one didn't work and they don't have replacement parts and disassemble 1 of them and have to ship it back. Then after 2 years and 170 miles the battery will not charge anymore even though you maintained the battery exactly as they describe. Their customer service says they respond in 1-2 business days but it is more like 1 - 2 weeks for EVERY communication then this company is for you and you should buy from them

The worst company i have ever dealt with. My bike went missing in shipping so I never received it. They refused to refund me or replace the bike until fedex closed the investigation so I challenged the charge. I then returned my accessories using their RMA and label. They acknowledged receiving the accessories but refuse to issue a refund. I now had to challenge this second part with the credit card co

Inferior quality

Inferior quality, lack of service and refusal of warranty service at RAD POWER BIKES

Hello everyone,
on my own behalf and in the interest of everyone who is thinking about buying a bicycle from the RAD POWER BIKES brand. Here are my unpleasant experiences with the manufacturer:
The electronics on my Pedelec bike Rhino 6 Plus stopped working after 13 months, despite careful treatment. The company then successively sent me various spare parts, some of which I even had to pay for. After I spent a lot of time on over two dozen emails and unsuccessful repair attempts, the company refuses to honor its warranty obligations. As a last attempt at a solution, I took the bike to an ebike workshop. The workshop asked Rad Power Bikes for information to determine the cause. However, Rad Power Bikes did not respond to the repair shop's emails.
Without e-assistance the bike is useless. €2000 wasted. Clear warning, stay away from it.

Our rad is less than 2 yrs old

Our rad is less than 2 yrs old, doesn’t work anymore, has less than 100 miles. We’re thinking a controller problem. No one in the Colorado Springs area will look at it, and Rad could care less. They will not help us, and at this point I’m feeling this will be a throw away, and a waste of money.
