I have bought from this company several…

I have bought from this company several times over the past 10-12 years about 15 shirts, 2 suits, 5 jackets and 4 trousers.
I am happy with them and have just placed another order.
I suppose people only write these reviews if they are angry so I wanted to show that they do have many happy returns customers (bumped into other customers in hotel).

Probably not a great supplier if you…

Probably not a great supplier if you are looking for a high quality made to measure suit at a reasonable price.

I ordered two suits, after being measured up by them in London. I chose fabrics from about the middle of their price range for both suits and paid £450 for each suit. ( £450 in London would get you a high quality off the peg suit in a London high street shop like Austin Reed or TM Lewins). They said they would send the one suit well before the other to check its fits well before sending the second suit.

First suit arrived by post on time. I hung it up to straighten it out and then tried it on. The fit around the shoulders was one of the worst fits I have had from any suit, including off the peg - that by itself was not a problem because I knew they could improve the fit in a subsequent appointment. However I was very surprised at the low quality of delivery: the material seemed cheap and lightweight compared to even ordinary suits sold in the UK; the zip was lightweight and snagged easily; I could see threads coming out of the stitching in the suit. Overall it fell far short of being the premium product I had expected.

I emailed them to complain and try and cancel the second suit. Though they said they would "alter both the suits to your satisfaction" they refused to cancel the second suit, citing the reason that they had already bought and cut the material.

Nonetheless, I went for a second measuring again in London to sort out the first suit's fit. I pointed out the problems with fit, which the tailor gruffly accepted but was rather abruptly told that threads coming out of stitching was to be expected in a handmade suit. I suggested paying more to get a higher quality material for the second suit, again I was rather abruptly and gruffly rebuffed, being told they already bought the cloth and cut it, so changing the material was absolutely not being entertained.

Overall a very disappointing experience - with a disappointing product and very disappointing customer service - with a high price tag. I paid a premium price for two suits neither which I am happy with or look like premium suits. In terms of customer service, they need to be able to make the occasional small financial loss in order to keep a customer happy, but seem unwilling to do so.

I came across them in an article

I came across them in an article, praising how this company it the one when it comes to made-to-measure suits for the athletic gentleman that can't get fitting suits of the rack. So I went to a fitting in a Hilton hotel. That was ok even though a bit sketchy. I showed him a m-t-m blazer and a shirt that I had made by another company where the fit was good, but the material was just cheap. So he took my measurements and compared with the blazer and shirt I brought with me. That all made a good impression on me so I ordered three suits. I got the first one after about 5 weeks in a tiny cardboard box. What I took out of that box was a disaster. It didn't fit at all, hanging threads everywhere, the fit was horrible, way too big everywhere, couldn't close the collar on the shirt,... miles away from what I expected. So I went back a few weeks later and was told 'this suit is perfect'. I strongly disagreed, I again showed the blazer and shirt that fit perfectly and he wrote down a few alteration, didn't pin anything. 5 weeks later, the same small cardboard box in the mail. This time I could barely fit into the blazer, the shirt was still too wide everywhere except for the collar that I still couldn't close. I was again told that the fit is perfect. I already tried to get out of the outstanding suits by then but he wouldn't let me and told me one more try, they are trying to get it right, it's just hard. So I gave him my blazer and the shirt (btw made by Indochino, perfect fit right away) as a reference to copy. What I got back after that was a bit better, the shirt and the pants were finally ok (not perfect) but the blazer still didn't fit. I couldn't barely move since it was to tight, it basically felt like a strait jacket. So I wrote them that the fist is still not ok, that I want my tailor to fix it and cancel the remaining suits as discussed the last time, but I got into endless discussions with them. So they made me go through this proces one more time (by now this has taken a year!) until I got the money for the additional suites back (without the currency exchange fees) and I had to take the additional shirts. The blazer I got back from the last alteration is not stitched together properly, very poor quality, meaning I have a suit that I can't wear. By now I'm sick and tired of complaining and I know it won't get any better so I gave up. The bottom line is STAY AWAY FROM RAJA FASHION. You can get better and cheaper MTM clothing elsewhere, and a way better customer service as well.

Suits didn't feel "made to measure"

Met the sales guys at the Hilton in Brisbane, pretty crap process looking at small samples in a bedroom of a hotel. I bought two suits with 4 pants and five shirts. They arrived a month or so later and the suits didn't fit, they were far too big, I contacted them and told them and their response was, " have you lost weight" I wish!! I had to wait until
they were in town again to get re-measured and then wait another month until they arrived back so it took about six months to receive my suits. I thought the quality was ok but they never felt like they were made to measure because they were made and then altered, any dry cleaners can do this with a suit you buy off the peg. The shirts were ok, they fitted and they wore well, but no better than a decent shirt you would buy at a department store for less $. I Wouldn't bother going back to them, I paid around $2K and it wasn't worth it.

Atrocious tailoring

I came across Raja Fashion in an advert in The Economist. I went to get measured at the Hilton on Park Lane. This was a very quick and slightly chaotic process. The suit arrived (I think from India) and I was very disappointed. The fabric used was of a very low quality, the suit did not fit correctly and buttons have already started falling off. They even managed to misspell my name in the inside label. Total waste of time and money!

Travelling cowboys

Travelling cowboys

Raja Fashions, the bespoke suit tailor, first came onto my radar around 8 years ago when I was working for the Oxford Mail. They had taken out a large advert in our local paper, promising a world class tailor was visiting the city. Our reporter went along for a fitting and received 2 free suits in return for some further kind printed words. 6 weeks later the suits arrived and Mr Smith was the envy of the office in his smart new cloth.
Fastforward to 2013 and with my wedding approaching I remembered their name and wanted to treat myself to something special. Raja Fashions were in town again so I went online and made an appointment for sunday lunchtime.
I was hoping to see some samples of their work when I arrived but instead all the salesman had was several large books of material samples. It was a pretty daunting task flicking through these books trying to imagine such a small swatch as a full suit and the whole experience felt rather rushed with the next clients soon arriving and waiting in the same small hotel room. Beware too that I was asked my budget and then quoted exactly that figure. There are no price lists or prices marked on the swatches. I feel that if I had gone lower I would have got a cheaper deal.
I’m a slight chap and had a very clear vision of the suit that I wanted. A slim/skinny fititng leg with a clean cut mod feel. This was explained to the salesman as measurments were taken and despite some concerns at the time that he seemed to still want to cut the suit wider I was hoepfull that my dream suit would fly in from Hong Kong in 6 weeks...
What arrived was SO disappointing from the moment that I opened the door. It took me a couple of minutes to work out what had even just arrived when I seen the post mark. Surely a £700 bespoke suit wouldn’t arrive in a small tatty cardbaord box? As I pulled the suit out it was visibly creased due to the way that it had been folded up. The stitching looked amatuerish and the material felt, and looked VERY cheap. The buttons looked even cheaper. Maybe I’d change my mind after trying it on and seeing a bespoke suit professionally made to my exact measuremnts on me? No. The suit jacket hung off me around the chest and the shoulders were blocky and horrible. The sleeves were at least 2 inches short. Worse was to come though as I tried on the trousers. After the initial squeeze to do them up the short length of them swung around my ankles like some kind of 60’s flares. The trouser fit was so important to me as stressed at my fitting and these were so baggy and far away from the neat cut that I was after I felt so angry and cheated by these travelling cowboys.
No refunds are offered here - just the promise to alter your suit until it’s right so I was stuck now and just had to hope that it would be sorted to some kind of wearable standard at my fitting meeting.
After meeting again 4 weeks later and receiving my suit back it was still an awful fit on me. With my weddign fast approaching the tailor said it couldn’t now be done in time so suggested I go to a local tailor to complete but they couldn’t fix the mess that had been made. In the end the suit went to my local charity shop. A MASSIVE WASTE OF MONEY AND A REAL LET DOWN.

Terrible fit and materials

Bought a 'made-to-measure' suit from raja fashions in London and can honestly say there is nothing about the suit that arrived that was "made to measure".

here is the email I sent to them:
Hi,

I received my suit today.

I can complement you on the timely arrival of the suit but that is as far as my praise goes unfortunately.

The idea that the suit I received today was worth the £600 I paid for it is laughable. The material feels like a thick, rough horse blanket.
I took it to my tailor here and I am having to get him to take TWO INCHES from the suit jacket to make it fit reasonably and also 1 and ¾ inches from the trousers. This is going to cost me £42 on top of the suit itself.

What a disgrace. I am glad I was not talked into more suits from your organisation. I needed 2 more suits and also had two colleagues waiting for my comments before they bought – all I could do was tell them to go elsewhere.

I have bought off-the-rack suits for much less that felt better and also fit better. I can honestly say I wish I had taken my £600 elsewhere and had an off the rack suit from a trusted high-street retailer and had the amendments made to that.

You have wasted my time and a significant amount of my money. I will not be returning and will be leaving negative reviews online about your suits.
