Rams Double Dipping at its best

After being with Rams for 10 years and finally being able to pay my mortgage off I have been hit with unexpected fees to discharge the mortgage.

I knew about the normal Rams fee if $295 as I’d asked this question of there agent when I applied for the loan knowing I would be discharging my mortgage early as I was 53 years old at the time and he didn’t mention any other fees.

Now Rams uses a 3rd Party settlement team to do the mortgage discharge, that’s fine and I’m happy to pay there fees however Rams are wanting me to pay both their discharge fees even though there sending it to someone else to do and the 3rd party settlement teams fees as well, a classic case of double dipping.

I intend to take them to the banking ombudsman and have started the process.

When you consider the profits they make from interest over 10 years then at the end they try to rip you off one final time, not a chance Rams I will do everything I can to stop this rip off

Do not deal with RAMS. Ever.

Appalling experience with bereavement notification and settlement of mortgage.
They sent back forms because “there wasn’t no cover letter giving the account number”.
They didn’t ask for a covering letter letter or the account number in their form.
So frustrating to deal with.
Never again!

Terrible customer service

Applied for COVID19 mortgage relief and stopped paying the payments, but their automatic system kept sending out default notices and calling me because they have no way to turn it off. After spending 5+ hours over multiple calls with them we still couldn't resolve it. Zero flexibility. They are useless and the entire customer service team is off shore too, all very inflexible and not even able to send a request from one department to another, so you have to call yourself and wait 30 mins before talking to the new department.
